Not all books have compelling enough messages though. I remember that the one thing that I took from Great Expectations was simply to not have them. I swear that, that book made me wish for a time machine for the sole purpose of going back in time to punch Charles Dickens. Apparently I wasn't the only one though there was such an outcry that he was actually forced to go out and write an alternate ending. Yet, Frankenstein which you couldn't say had a "happy" ending, and that also had a message to send didn't really upset me at all. In the end I guess it is just how it is handled that makes a difference.

Ah yes Blighttown, where the enemies hit you with Toxic that only a specific poison plant could cure. You should see the Black Gulch, and (Pre-Patch) Shrine of Amana in DS2. Whoever designed those levels was an asshole.

Well most of the reasons that I die in dark souls I can attribute to carelessness, but fighting a boss while enduring constant poisoning that is inescapable just isn't fun.

The one problem that I have with this game is that Int and Faith scale so much higher than any melee stat does. Which is why when the game first came out there were so many sorcerers running around. Infusing lightning with Faith, and Magic with Int has always given me higher returns on damage output than simply having a high scaling melee build. So from a PVP standpoint it just seems pointless to go pure melee unless you are intending to do the no bonfire challenge. Also Ouraibaa, there is a really dick move by the programmers later in the game as they give you no hints that you need to do this, but when you see a tower with a windmill on it make sure to burn the windmill blades with a torch. It'll make your life a lot easier.

Does anyone use a pure melee build anymore? From what I have seen hybrid builds seem to get more damage even with good scaling stats due to infusions.

Ufotable can really make some amazing visuals, getting the series away from Deen was a wise decision. A remake in the style of Fate/Zero is only bound to be epic. Also, the Forest of Fallen Giants is south of the Majula bonfire along the cliffside.

What can I say, I have played the game a lot...I guess I'm something of a Dark Souls fanatic. The Forest of Fallen Giants is a better area to start with if you haven't already done it yet.

Stay away from the VN suggestions.

None of the Souls games have music outside of boss battles, and I wouldn't call anything from from a Souls OST similarly tuned or badly composed. The only thing to set the atmosphere in a souls game is the game itself.
