Having issues in-game (Kamidori Alchemy Meister)
Shaun replied to DrakeLightheart's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
That isn't the problem at all, I have that enabled and don't have hanging at all. Shadowplay never interferes with any game. Also if you don't even have GFE (Geforce Experience) installed you won't even have shadowplay to begin with, you need GFE for that but you need to manually trigger shadowplay for it to even do anything, it doesn't run on it's own. -

My copy displays the same as your first image: I believe this is normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong with your copy. Your friends screenshot appears to have sections that aren't translated (the text you're seeing is Kenji), those shouldn't be showing up at all. About the hanging issue, I don't know about that because I've never had that problem before. -
Go here https://nekonyansoft.com/shop/product/22 for the update, it's free, works on all versions. While there are other sources to buy it from NekoNyan is the main company behind it, all patches come from them. Steam will auto download the lastest patch of course.
-
Do you have the latest 1.04 update installed? Steam users should already have it. I just checked that FC replay and it plays fine, no issues at all.
-
Both Mashiro and Rika are main heroines not side heroines, calling them side heroines is wrong.
-
I didn't see a single problem with Rika's route.
-
Interesting, I have SukiSuki as well but haven't finished it, only done one route (Ayame, rather enjoyed it too), makes me want to get back to it since I haven't made any progress on it in a while. Interesting part about Byakko characters, just read that some of them make an appearance.
-
SukiSuki (Sankaku Ren'ai: Love Triangle Trouble! right?) is just as good (currently reading this one now, H-Scenes are fantastic), also it's called Farther Than the Blue Sky, Byakko is just the name of the rocket club they're in (though it is used as an Aliases on VNDB) and I disagree with this part: "h-scenes in Byakko are "just" good/not bad - they are your typical, run-of-the-mill-eroge scenes", I would almost say they're better in terms of quality than those in Aokana (visual novels with uncensored H-Scenes are always better than visual novels with censored H-Scenes imho), all 4 routes are great and the final chapter has it end with a really fantastic ending. Don't get me wrong I loved Aokana (the H-Scenes being censored I didn't like) but I also really enjoyed the other mentioned visual novels just as much and don't think any less of their H-Scenes, I just give more credit to visual novels that stay away from censorship (not like we can do anything about it, in Aokana's case nothing was drawn underneath the mosaic and the Japanese version came out in 2014). I only like vanilla in H-Scenes myself.

They cover it more with Masya and Asuka's past in the anime adaptation which is a fantastic adaptation, I'm planning on doing a rewatch of the anime soon after completing the visual novel. I went in this order: Mashiro > Rika > Misaki > Asuka (I already said this before). So was Farther Than the Blue Sky Chuablesoft's last title or something? The H-scenes are great in it, the visual novel is really good.
-
I recommend saving Asuka's route for last.
-
No it has no forced route order (you can go in any order you want), it would say so on vndb which it doesn't, it may be a Sprite title but that doesn't mean it will be the same which it isne't. Everything about it is very different then Koichoco, artwork, characters etc. I've already given it a 10 on vndb, on my 3rd route already, I went Mashrio > Rika > Misaki (on this route now) > Asuka.
-
All versions are the same no matter where you buy it from, unless you have solid proof that I am wrong that is. It seems a lot of you don't realize this visual novel came out in Japan in 2014. You're just supporting censorship by buying any visual novels from Steam.
-
Yeah sounds completely pointless to get it on purpose and just sounds like it's something most visual novels have if you don't get on a route, even more pointless if you didn't buy it from Steam which for me I no longer support visual novels on Steam after the censorship bullshit they're pulling, I'll buy them elsewhere.
-
Is that just by not getting into any routes? Does it have any CGs or story tied to it at all? VNDB doesn't really mention any bad ends though it doesn't list it as having only good ends, imo I see no point in getting a bad end if it doesn't lead to anything like CGs, being required to get other endings etc (the last one obviously doesn't apply to this visual novel). I find it very weird that a visual novel like this even has any bad ends.
-
They're support characters not side heroines and Aoi will never have a route for obvious reasons and fandiscs are just that extras for fans they're not really canon (imho), I've also never played a fandisc where the support heroines are given main roles instead of how they were in the original at least not treated anywhere close to how the mains are in the original.
-
Why are you mentioning girls that have no routes? You should know there are only 4 routes. A thing I've noticed with the settings is the movie volume does nothing, I have it down to half but it still sounds like it's at full volume.

The Version of OniiKiss released tuesday was bugged
Shaun replied to Ryuushi's topic in Visual Novel Talk
You clearly don't know anyone who actually talks in the 3rd person, it's not very common but there are people out there our age (20-30+) who do that. No it's not inaccurate to render 3rd person self reference in English since your example is wrong. -

Shaun replied to Ryuushi's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I never said I could understand the voiced lines, it's just really easy to tell when the Japanese voice is talking in 3rd or 1st person, it's really unnecessary to not translate it exactly as it appears, it's not a faithful translation if the translator doesn't include a characters 3rd or 1st person speaking, sure you don't find that many visual novels that do that but that is no excuse to change it to not include it. Your logic is wrong though, you're just putting words in my mouth which I never said anything close to it. -

A character talking in the 3rd person should never be changed in the western release because the voiced lines will still be doing just that which will just make the translator look like an idiot. -

So you're saying not to use a patch that will fix a bug that makes you go back to the title screen after the common route is done, are you sure you know what you're talking about or that you're quoting the right person? If you're referring to the 3rd person patch then again that is not a meme patch that is how it is in the original Japanese version, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. -
Kirikiroid2 word wrapping (Sanoba Witch, 9nine, etc)
Shaun replied to Potatoed's topic in Voluntary Tech Support
As far as I know Sanoba Witch does not have word wrapping issues and I don't think 9 Nine has the problem either, I doubt either have official mobile versions (they don't according to VNDB for either visual novel) so if you are somehow getting them to work on Android I don't think you'll get any support for them from anyone. -
recruiting Maitetsu 18+ Release Restoration Patch
Shaun replied to Heliosaurus's topic in Fan Translation Discussion
You really should have bought it from FAKKU instead. No one should be supporting visual novels on Steam, buy them elsewhere. -
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Da Capo III, it is a very well written sequel, the anime adaptation isn't that good, too much focus on fanservice (close up shots of the girls chest and lower half) and the common route. IMHO Da Capo III is the best out of the 3 visual novels.
-
I followed it exactly except I ignored the bad ending (no CGs with it so you can ignore it) and still have all CGs in Gallery and all Memories. Gallery is for the CGs and the Memory is for the H-scenes. Try going through it again but ignore the bad ending in the walkthrough guide and you shouldn't have a problem getting all CGs and Memories. I generally ignore bad endings if I can help it.

So far I'm not seeing a single thing wrong with the visual novel in question, writing is pretty good and I doubt it will ever be bad and the VNDB page for it has it as good right now so it's hard to believe there is that much hate for it. Nothing wrong with the character designs though, I don't get the problem with that.
