I know some people who watch anime/read manga while in public, but would people do the same with VNs? I particularly prefer to read when I'm by myself at home, though watching anime is fine wherever. "Dude can you gank mid?" "Ara stop spamming my visual novel threads with dick pictures" "Dude wtf?"

Considering you liked Berserk, I'll recommend: Vagabond, which is imo something on par with it on many aspects, surpassing it on some even. The art is amazing and arguably better, and both protagonists are a similar in a way. Vinland Saga is also amazing, though it's a level below those two imo. After School War Activities and 3 Level Combination while not exactly the kind of "dark plot" you probably are looking for, are good and mature. 20th Century Boys is always a valid choice as well. I am a Hero is still publishing but it's pretty good too.

Going outside of the friend aspect, my mom is a huge fan of F/SN. Her first contact was when I was explaining the whole setting of the game for my Cousin, and as a huge fan of fantasy, she got interested and decided to listen to my whole explanation. We watched Fate/Zero together and now we're currently watching the Unlimited Blade Works adaptation. Before UBW, she made me read and translate the Fate route with her since she can't understand english. I feel like there's no better VN to recommend to newcomers, I prefer to go on case-by-case style and suggest something that would get the person more interested in the game itself, possibly leading him/her to become more interested in the genre as a whole. I do agree that some VNs are solid all-around and are a good choice for beginners, but if I tried recommending her Katawa Shoujo - which was the first for many of us, I think she would have given up before reaching any of the routes. She's not against the idea of the game nor anything, but she prefers plot development over characters as the main focus, so the likes of Clannad or KonoSora would not be a good choice as well.

I feel like survival games such as H1Z1, Rust and Day Z (which I don't know if it's still alive) will have some issues with that. The whole fun of the game is around the mind-games and getting an edge over other players and keeping it like that, which can easily back-fire if the company can't properly handle the bands.

Hello everyone! Rose here, bringing you guys something a bit different from usual. Today I'm here to announce a few things about the blog and the team. First of all, Ezeefreak is no longer part of the Recognition Team. He helped us a lot during our early days when we still didn't knew how to do our job properly and I am really grateful for that, as well as for everything else he did for the team. I wish him nothing but the best for his forum and for everything else in his life, he's a really great person and I'm glad that he was one of us. Secondly, I'm also going to use this post to remind those who read the Recognition Blog of two things: We do accept suggestions for highlighting posts, be it a thread, person or whatever else you feel like deserve it. We won't accept everything, but don't hesitate to make a suggestion, we'll take a look at all of them. If your thread received a meaningful update or was reworked in some way, you can request us to feature it on the "Threads you should check out" weekly list. That said, translation projects have their own space for that so we won't add them. And lastly, I received some feedback regarding some of our posts and I am likely going to either rewrite them, or make slight adjustments. I feel like having a better pattern should do us well and that's what I'll aim for with the changes. I'm also aware that some people have mixed feelings about some of our posts and I'll try to do better from now on, the Recognition Team is a new Fuwa feature and we still gotta work on some things, but I feel like we'll keep improving with time. I'll admit that I never liked L4D2 that much, but watching Ren made me get interested in it, 99% due to the mods to be honest though. Having cute 2D girls shooting zombies while fighting Tanks and listening to Metal Gear Rising OST? I can't go against that.

Well, let's give it a try then... Since you don't have a VNDB (or at least it ain't on your profile), I'll just go around something that looks good. Subarashiki Hibi seems to be really amazing, it has a lot of hype around it and two of the persons whose thoughts I highly value when it comes to untranslated VNs rate it extremely well. 11/10 even. Natsu no Owari no Nirvana is a game I really wanna read eventually, but I can't say much more than that the synopsis looks great and the art is amazing imo.

Try reading the recognition blog weekly lists with this theme, it's impossible. ;----; Hm, I'd say that we've actually been doing pretty poorly lately, due to RL issues happening to all the members and all that. You can tell by looking at our feed which was composed of only our weekly list until yesterday. Regardless, I still appreciate it.
