  1. Preface: For those of you who don't know, I, solidbatman, chronicle the various peoples of Fuwanovel, detailing their life story, and giving insight into just the kind of person they are. To read past entries, I urge you to read OriginalRen: An Original Biography and Professor Rooke. For those of you curious enough about me, I do detail some of my adventures here. Introduction: Today, my fellow readers, I seek to answer your questions regarding one of the more mysterious figures here at Fuwanovel. Some say he isn't real, that he is simply a spirit sent from Japan to tease the West with VNs. Others say he is a communist sleeper agent, set on turning otakus into Marxists to lead the People's Revolution. And still others say he is a med student who got bitched out by a just Colombian doctor when he attempted to commandeer his ornately decorated office. I'm here to tell you, Tay is real. As real as the dirt beneath your feet, but not as real as firecat's ability to predict the future. Let us, together, go down the road that is Tay's past. Enter, the untold Tay Story. Tay was born in 1321 in the great salt flats of Utah. For an adult, living in the salt flats of Utah is a feat, but for a baby, it is basically a death sentence. Baby Tay defied the odds, not only surviving the salt flats, but thriving in them. The salt fueled him, gave him strength and power. When he emerged from the salt flats in 1322, he was a 7 foot tall hunk of a baby. Despite appearing god-like, with a finely sculpted body (that Michelangelo would later attempt to immortalize in his Statue of David), 7 foot baby Tay did not know how to live among others. So for 691 years, Tay remained in hiding, only venturing out to find new reading materials. One day, after traversing the Pacific Ocean, Tay came upon a mythical land, known as Japan. Perhaps it was Fate that led him to this moment. When he returned home, Tay knew what he had to do. At the same time, ɐıןɐɹʇsnɐ uı, a young woman, who too had been touched (appropriately) by Japan, began work on a temple that she called Fuwanovel. Fuwanovel, at the time was ugly, and in need of great help. Tay, with his supernatural hearing, heard about Fuwanovel, and quickly ran to ɐıןɐɹʇsnɐ to help. This, is when Tay became the being we speak legend of today. One day in ɐıןɐɹʇsnɐ, Tay came upon a group of girls. One was missing her legs, another her arms, another was just annoying as fuck, and the other was also annoying as fuck but didn't talk but was somehow even more annoying than the one that did talk. Tay was moved by this, (the author of this biography would like to note that, regarding himself, he was not moved by this and thought this was shit.) and decided to become a doktor to help those stupid ass girls. To do this though, he had to go through many trials. Among them, an attack from Gangamamer and the Pulltop Yakuza (which will be detailed in the prequel entry to this at a later date). Tay's soul was drained, but he continued marching on, even as he was abandoned by those around him. He doktor'd Fuwanovel into good health, and replaced the old, creaking parts with new, broken as fuck creaking parts. But someone, somewhere was lurking, waiting for their moment to strike. This strike, would shake the foundations of Fuwanovel to its core, and leave it in ruins. Would 7 foot baby Tay rise up to the challenge? Or would he fall into despair? Or would he just say fuck it and quit like another Fuwa Leader did? Find out next time!
  2. I'm happy I made your day
  3. Heroin is healthier for you.
  4. Unpopular Opinion Alert! /s
  5. I'll forward this on up to Sekai Project I mean the god damn developer of the VN and not the publisher.
  6. http://store.steampowered.com/app/407980/ I want to get off Winged Cloud's Wild Ride.
  7. If I jump off a cliff, will my followers jump too?
  8. I read Ever17 because it was on a Top 100 RPG lists and I was like, "Huh this shit is alright" so I decided to read more VNs and now I am a pitiful ball of regret, hate, and salt.
  9. I can't wait for Angel Beats! to get released and the Kazamatsuri guys go on a crusade to keep me from reviewing it.
  10. Literally anything Okami posted
  11. Off topic: If it takes sex to fully portray a character, then the writers just suck. I can name countless novels, movies, books, and games that don't use sex to give you insight into a character and I felt a strong attachment. I've yet to read a VN, see a movie, or play a game that uses sex to give "insight into that characters personality." Its just an excuse to show some boobies to an audience, that if we are being realistic with Japanese otaku, will likely never see em on account of being wizards.
  12. I'd sooner read Little Busters! again than I would go to Comiket.
  13. fuckin Big Eroge man. Controlling our rights to poorly drawn pornographic material.
  14. Can't do that. It doesn't fit the "Sekai Project is the Hitler of VNs" narrative.
  15. That's called survival of the fittest With the current state of things, I'm not giving MG and Jast more than another decade at most. Unlikely. Both survived just fine before VNs on Steam were even a thing. If you want to call nukige spam and a release once a decade "surviving" sure.
  16. https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/3rg7y9/sekai_project_and_rvisualnovels/ Maybe this will add a little more perspective? Or not, because some people in this thread seem unable to read.
  17. Grinding with a purpose is alright by me. For example, extra battles, special weapons, etc. My issue with grinding is when it feels pointless. I'll compare two games here to show what I mean. Bravely Default is an old fashion jrpg that brings backs the nostalgia of the old SNES Final Fantasy games. This includes the grinding that only serves to pad the length of the game. A game like that, should be able to be beaten by simply not running away from any battles. Instead, I found myself having to constantly seek out battles because I was too under-leveled for portions of the game. Final Fantasy X was similar in this regard. I had to seek out, and grind levels in order to complete the game. Its padding, plain and simple. Now a game that does grinding right, Persona 3 (and to a lesser extent 4). In the games, a thematic, story related purpose is given to you as a reason to grind levels. To "train" yourselves for the boss battles, which in the games you know exactly when they come. So now you have a specific purpose to go out and grind. On top of that, you are rewarded with new abilities, without having to necessarily level up to gain them. Again, its grinding with a purpose, and while its still time padding, its hidden well, and executed in a manner to make it more enjoyable and meaningful.
  18. "Abused for his honesty" Because I'm the reviewer Fuwa deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So I am hunted, because I can take it. Because I'm not a reviewer. I'm a loud whiner, an ignorant reader. A salt reviewer.
  19. http://tlwiki.org/index.php?title=Little_Busters Fruitbat Factory apparently handling the release. Pancakes on Steam. What a time to be alive. God will render judgement on you sinners for wishing this on me.
  20. Of course you can't get a job Ren, when you go to job fairs in that outfit
  21. I heard it was shit. Along with being written by good 'ol Jun "Pull Miracles Out of My Ass" Maeda, I'm staying far away from this generic cliche-fest.
  22. Most English speakers can barely speak English anyway, so don't give people being jerks any thought. Im glad you like it here at Fuwanovel
