Samurai Quest - A Very Low Budget MSPaint Visual Novel
crunchytaco replied to Aniki's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
*Spoken in a Yakuza voice* Ojisan, you just made me lose my appetite for this place. How you plan to pay me back, huh? -
I agree that the sum of our parts makes up who we are, like the tiny hamsters running wheels inside our heads. It's just that the definition of free will here is stretching to what it applies to, and I'm not sure if you're aware of it. Let me run a rewind a bit to freshen memories. On a conscious level, you believe you are here discussing with me using your conscious effort. But as I have explained, the left brain works in retrospect. It is the conscious part of you that narrates the story in your mind. It tries to make sense of things even if it has to make up facts to do so (refer to the chicken shed response). Outside of split brain experiments, this is proven to happen during investigations when the same testimony changes details each time it was repeated to fit the narrative in the testifier's head without them even realizing it. Your body has made every decision before you're even aware of it because your consciousness is the slowest reacting part in your brain. It's once these actions become visually apparent in front of the left brain that you begin processing it on a conscious level. Yet it is the conscious part of your brain that convinces you it's the one in control of all your decisions. Each part works on such a different level, with such distinct job functions, it's fascinating that we even consider them one and the same brain. If we are not aware of our choices, but we still classify that as free will, then this is no longer the classical definition of free will that we know it as.

Actually Katatsumuri, with recent advances in science we are beginning to look at the brain in sections as separate pieces of organs. Imagine you had TWO Katasumuris inside you. The only thing that is linking the two of you together in coordination is a cable. If you severe that cable, the two Katasumuri's would no longer be able to communicate. They run freely on their own, are capable of learning on their own and are able of creating their own experiences in life. This is exactly what the experiments on cats and mices have shown. The question now is, who controls you and if there is such a thing as a single you in there?

Throw a feint to the left, and follow with a roundhouse kick to his temple with lightening speed. Then toss the naginata at him as his body sways back for a finishing blow. -
Cantarella (manga) is another Romance. I like anything that is dark. It's less Ecchi and more Shoujo than Kimi no Iru Machi (if you guys aren't into that stuff, but hey everyone's got a different idea of Romance ).

Wait that might be kanra under there! Dont run AWAY from an h scene. *DISROBES* -
Technically you could debate logic within fiction as long as you remain within the logical boundaries of that fiction.

Hollywood magic. People survive with entire limbs cut off. A ball is like getting a nail ripped off.

Dont worry guys. Syura will come back. Theres an alchemist girl who is researching danger beasts experiments.

The author is focusing in his 100 page anime book so this week got snubbed.

Another one bites the dust! Who's proud of luball? I can't wait for next month's. They'll focus on Tatsumi's imprisonment (hopefully). Either that or further expand on Wave+Kurome's side story, or both.

Rail Wars too much train and not enough harem drama this episode. What drew in the fans to this show originally was the fan service, and 7/8 episodes in it looks like they're getting serious again. I wonder if the LN readers are expecting it to pick up for them.

What game have you recently beaten?
crunchytaco replied to springning's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
Christ, I'd have to go through a library of dusty tomes before I get back to you. My greatest achievements felt like those nintendo games. My why they hard. Even when the save feature came out, some PC games were incredibly frustrating like Ultima 8 and Savage Empire. There were no clues. You had to hit every lever to find out. Yet they were incredibly satisfying. -
Tsunderes and their evolution over the years.
crunchytaco replied to Kimanor's topic in Visual Novel Talk
You probably haven't heard of Golden Boy. But this was one of the funniest animes I was introduced to in the early 90's. It was my first introduction in ecchi genre. Anyhow this 90's looking lady is as true to the classical tsundere as they come. She was completely disgusted with the MC in the beginning (no veils at all) and falls in love with him by the end. -
Moe factor 9/10 with the attractiveness of a midget Total 4/10

Why can't it be all 3? The complex state of 2d expression .

Gekkan Shoujo's latest chapter focuses on more new supporting casts. I thought it'd be confusing at first, but it's absolutely hilarious, this new Ryounosuke guy. He has the same misunderstandings Waka has, but he's slightly more pretentious... until Nozaki shows him how big he is. Calling Sakura a badger +1. Although Akame Ga Kill stays as the most entertaining on my list Ajin seems like the most interesting Manga I've read this year thus far. This manga is guaranteed to be picked up by a high quality anime company or at least deserves it. The quality in writing easily rivals Tokyo Ghoul.
