  1. That's not true; I've watched it It didn't get any attention because I think there were bigger Titans at the time. (And gaw, I hate Oreimo. It makes me uncomfortable in so many ways.)
  2. I updated to Windows 8 and cleaned up my Wallpaper photo to look more appealing.
  3. I don't blame you. It's really not that great right now. I can't stop shitting on it. edit: I'll at least post the Eyecandy us hentais care enough to still watch it for.
  4. Have you seen the latest episode? That bedroom scene had some of the best animation, and art in the entire series. Most of the attention was focused on Esdeath I love me some Esdeath but that's really missing the point of her character. In that same episode where Akame is supposed to smile beautifully at Tatsumi with leaf blowing in the wind, you can tell where the budget was allocated from and to where. Poor Akame, getting shit on in the Manga and now the Anime.
  5. Does Yumiko's Thread Memorial Thread sound better? I didn't think so.
  6. Mr. Meogii if it helps your mourning, you could always start a Yumiko Memorial Thread
  7. It's vexing to me that I have nothing to vex about once I open this thread. I shall come back and find something vex worthy.
  8. Stock answer: there's good and bad in both societies. Japan has a certain attraction to foreigners, particularly in the West because of its exotic long standing, cultural traditions. Double interest for those who are already a student of Japan's culture (have an affinity for all Japanese related items like Anime and Manga.) I can't say how much of it is an exaggeration or not without living there, but based on studies and researches released by the government; every rose that we hear about from Japan comes with thorns underneath it. It's the same with Americans who still believe there's no other place better than America in the world. I've had foreign exchange students, and my ex-fiance in fact was from out of the country, who have expressed their disappointment on American soil. Everything from fashion, technology; to comfort of living; Americans are several years behind according to them. This is a big contrast to 15 years ago when I visited the poorer Asian countries who couldn't afford a nintendo; and now each family not only has the latest console when it comes out, the children of each family own a freaken IPAD. The one thing that still remains true around the world and to most foreigners who visit is that Americans are super friendly. They don't know how superficial us Californians are. Americans really need to change to remain competitive in the world. Didn't mean to make this into a USA thing, but my point is Japan's traditional culture while it is something I respect, it also needs to go under a reformation to improve the country. The old Japan and the new Japan have distinctive divide in their thinking due to a rapid flux in culture after WWII. The introduction and assimilation of Western influence for them, happened relatively recently. It didn't give them any time to adapt, and seamlessly mold into the next generation. Now it's causing a lot of clashing that's threatening Japan's stability.
  9. It needs something to be under something more horrible, like a graveyard subforum for threads that die out and get constantly resurrected by necromancers. I still haven't touched the Majikoi thread since I'm under the impression that it's a bunch of LARPers in there pretending, because it's in the G&C section and all ya know.
  10. ^And the prophecy which has been foretold since the beginning of time has been fullfilled: "And lo," said the moderator with quad pink wings descending upon Yumiko worshippers, "You are now banished to the abyss of pointless chit chatters and ramblings; for eternity. I don't want another Majikoi thread here." - Fuwanovel Volume 18 Chapter 2
  11. If you've seen Samurai Flamenco, you'll understand what it means to have crazy plot twists. Valvrave is so tame in comparison lol. The plot twists in Valrave were over top but it's no more nonsensical than mechas fighting in space, and students living on a giant terraformed platform named after a vacuum cleaner . I think you'd have to have a certain love for "theatricals" to enjoy it.
  12. I've seen enough people enjoy Valrave to equal the amount of haters. That makes it above bad IMO. It's not an anime that pretends to have high quality writing. There's more than just writing to an entertainment. If you are judging objectively, you also have to factor in the consistent animation, and as you have mentioned, the awesome soundtrack and its genius timing. You have to go over all of it. While it wasn't thorough with them, it did introduce many original themes into a Mecha anime. It really pushed the limit with the consensual rape scene, and while I'm no advocate, I thought it was an interesting move on Sunrise's part. Getting into the "so bad it, it's good" category isn't the right way to describe it. IMO that is reserved for movies and shows you can't take seriously at all. It's Samurai Flamenco level, where turning off your brain isn't enough to keep your eyeballs from falling out; and prevent your body from dropping to the floor and laughing.
  13. Some eye candy on Esdeath there. I hope Whitefox doesn't think their sales will boost if they try turning this more into High School DXD.
  14. Are there any good Harem mechas?
  15. Nope, low brow humor is my favorite. Stray cat+Madadvanced
  16. E-h-h-h. I wouldn't go so far as to label it that. I genuinely enjoyed it with its crazy plot twists and characters. It had Sunrise written all over it. I had emotions invested into the story, as I usually don't with the "So bad that it's good" genre.
  17. How do you interpret me asking you this? Kanojo wa imasu ka? vs Kanojo ga imasu ka?
  18. Gurren Lagann is my favorite mecha of the decade. I"ll never watch another Mecha again.
