Well, considering it's Type-Moon we're talking about, there's still probably at least a year before any kind of release. Add to that a good 6+ months of translation (maybe less if there's enough similar text but I doubt it) and you might want to reconsider playing the old one Yep, one of the best tracks in itself. Some of the other tracks are very good background music too.

There's a fan speculation going on through the internet, based on lots of details in the series/EoE/rebuild and statements from Anno, that says that Rebuild of Evangelion is actually a sequel to the original series: the same story repeats itself but with different events. What happens in EoE let this theory be possible (actually the fact that it's Evangelion makes almost anything possible ) , although it's nothing official, just fan speculations. This is a collection of evidences:

You know what the worst is? The OST is pretty damn good, therefore you can't even completely deny the existence of the anime. I actually played a part of Tsukihime with the anime OST instead of the VN OST, cuz the VN OST quickly becomes a bit boring. Now, a Tsukihime anime remake after the VN remake... by Ufotable... That would be a blessing.

I'm not sure if it's worth the effort to mix in EoE and ep 25/26. It's not like it really changes anything anyway. The elements gathered by crazy fans around the internet have some credibility, so I wouldn't reject the theory. But I'll not be 100% convinced until i'll have seen the end of it. From what I heard there's some crazy stuff going on in 3.0 so... There's also a complete camrip subbed but i'd rather wait the BD because the quality is (obviously) bad.

Maybe it has to do with the very lengthy introduction most VNs have. People might expect, because of other types of fiction media, that the story kicks in right at the start. While VNs have a very typical narrative construction where the beginning is essentially slice of life heavily character development oriented, and the main plot only starts to really appear after at least a chapter, which is several hours worth of reading. Therefore they feel like "nothing happens" and it's boring. Maybe VN players are all people able to enjoy slice of life. Dunno.

1.0 can replace the first 6 episodes of the series, it's basically the same with better animation and HD. After that the Rebuild story trails off a lot from the original series in 2.0 and from what I heard it doesn't get better in 3.0. So Rebuild and Neon Genesis can be watched as two independent entities. The series is old but still has good animation and art, and well, it's like, the most discussed animation series of all time. I won't guarantee you'll like it but it's definitely a classic. As for the Rebuild movies, the animation is awesome. Waiting for it to end before judging the story.

The day this BD come out and get subs I'll be on unthinkable levels of hype. That OST. Those glimpses I did at some spoilers. 2.0's already glorious animation. Everything points out to a masterpiece. Btw, did anyone take a look at Dokidoki Precure? I'm new to to Precure but I heard that new series was pretty good.

Considering the level of english in VNs is not extremely high, and you get used to it fast enough, I'd guess maybe 30-40%? A lot of people are terrible at english and don't care about it but there are still people skilled enough. The real issue is the number of people who would actually bother reading something the length of a book in English. There we fall at maybe 5%. And that might be optimistic.

I have lots of specific language and behavior patterns but they change all the time. I pick up those of people around me quite easily and some others that just come up like that. So I can't put my finger on a particular expression I use all the time.

You're definitely not tricking me into a "Which browser/OS is the best/is shit" trollwar.

I think i'd rather do 3D integral calculus than some of the mind-blasting points of japanese grammar Here are texts with ranked difficulty based on the JLPT levels: http://chokochoko.wordpress.com/the-great-library/ Jumping right in might have its good points too, I don't know what you'll prefer.

Don't know if that can help, but I never got that error. Using Safari under Mac Os X.

What refined tastes you have here B) Welcome!

You disliked Fate/Stay Night Well, ok, I can live with it. Don't do this to me if you ever read Tsukihime though. If you ever wanna try it again, it gets better after. (Usually the end of the routes are where shit gets real, and the first route is less good than the two others) Don't worry about your english, we're lots of non-native speakers here and won't notice, we're probably speaking weird too So, well, yeah... Welcome!

B-but I mentioned it I only watched season 1 though, I'll have to get myself S2 and Tenri Arc, then maybe pick up the manga because it was a rather good series.

Which anime should I be watching this season?
Down replied to Tay's topic in Anime/Manga Recommendations
There's a reference to something - anime, internet stupid videos, eroge, manga, culture - every minutes of this anime. And it's slice of life to its purest, so don't expect much plot. After your first watch be sure to keep those episodes under your hand somewhere, you'll feel the need every now and then to watch one or two episodes again. Lucky Star is magic solution against any kind of feeling down. -
So basically Strike Witches/Vividred Operation right? Original. The spinoff is really terrible because nothing happens, but even the original could have been much better I think. Then again, maybe I had too much expectations because the fanbase sells it as incredible.

Aw, you just reminded me I joined Kawa-Soft 2 months ago already but totally forgot because I've been busy lately. Once i'm done with my exams i'll have to think about registering on esprit-vn and try to show up to actually start doing something.

This fact only makes this debate irrelevant to the case of DC III, that does not make his arguments invalid. Since it's pretty clear now that they're arguing just for the sake of arguing, I don't see why you would call him a fool and say outright he is not supporting on fanmade translation. There was NEVER mentioned anywhere that he rejected fan translation and I don't see how his opinions are "counterproductive". He is stating something very simple: "competition over a VN translation only decreases the number of translated VNs" and I don't see how it is false in any way. Then of course it might not be relevant in this case, because the translator do whatever he wants to do. When there are so few actually translated VNs, it is debatable that giving choice is more important than giving more translated VNs. Just ask people what they would want, I think you know what the answer would be.

It's getting more and more popular; France is actually the second market for mangas after Japan. Manga editors and japan-oriented conventions are popping up everywhere, and both libraries and big stores now have a fair amount of mangas selling. Still have issues like series getting licensed and the publication never finishes, but yeah, a lot of the hits in Japan get exported here so it's pretty nice. Compared to that the animation market doesn't fare very well though...
-
Of Saki you mean? I figured it would look a lot like Saki, and Saki disappointed me a lot for its wasted potential of doing epic stuff. And tanks sound a lot less exciting then mahjong, so I skipped on that one.

I live in France, a huge lot of people read mangas, fair amount of anime watchers, but not too much for VNs. There is a small net of websites about VNs, a translation team or two (english->french) and I know people on forums and IRL that occasionally play VNs. Your average random that only watch the big three doesn't even know it exists, but people that are actually into animes are easy to convince, whether it's through Type-Moon or other VNs. Overall people around me are rather receptive to VNs which is a thing. I think considering the overall popularity of VNs outside of Japan it's not bad. Probably behind USA and asians neighboorhood of Japan but better than the rest of Europe.

Well If you didn't see it yet, Lucky Star has references about everything an otaku could dream of, including eroge. (AND it's freakin' awesome! I suspect you might have already seen it though, it's a classic) Hm, the protagonist of The World God Only Knows is a dating sim player of legend too.

We might as well make a thread for that for future utility, shouldn't we? Anyway, I was thinking about making a walkthrough for Kagetsu Tohya, but I don't have that kind of time on me right now, so not gonna happen soon.
