There are scenes I want to go back to before ending it Yeah, I agree the ending was predictable. My problem with side 1st was But despite that one glaring fault, I still enjoyed it! I finished side 1st before reading side 2nd, so I didn't expect much from the second. But instead I ended up being teary-eyed and with my heart in a million pieces (The ending is really predictable, so I'm sure you can guess what happens. But the way everything was executed right up to the end was what left a big impact on me). Okay I'll stop here before I end up writing an essay LOL.

Yes, I definitely agree! Although I'd prefer side 2nd over the first one since I feel it has more impact. Planetarian would also make a good movie. But what I really want is something from the What a Beautiful Series. It would certainly be epic.

As for recommendations, I suggest you check out Narcissu and Planetarian if you're willing to read a kinetic novel. Hoshizora no Memoria is good too; I haven't finished it yet but the art and common route had me hooked. +2 for being a Californian who has yet to enter college (I'm the same, though I still have a bit more time than you before I enter college xD). How long have you been playing piano/learning how to read and play music? I'm currently learning Japanese too. You're just over analyzing As for avoiding bad ends, you could also try searching for a walkthrough for whichever VN you're reading. There's bound to be one floating around the internet somewhere. ...I was gonna add more to this, but everyone else that posted before me pretty much took the words out of my mouth. Personally I think having some knowledge with Chinese will make it easier for you to remember/recognize kanji. Iirc Aaeru has a similar background to you, so you should ask her if you have any questions.

I applaud you for being one of the few guys I know to try out an otoge How's Starry Sky? I've tried reading it once before but it was too boring and fluffy for my tastes... EDIT: Also, I read from one of your earlier posts that you're looking into Togainu no Chi. Just be warned that it is a R-18+ BL game so it has some pretty, uhhh, raunchy stuff. But if you do decide to try it out, lemme know what you thought of it! I generally avoid BL games since it's not really my cup of tea, but I'd like to hear a guy's opinion on it.

Yeah they changed the artist. The new art style in side 3rd really rubs me the wrong way... I can't take it as seriously as I did with the other two, mostly because of the character designs, and somehow I feel like the art makes it look way more light-hearted than it's supposed to be and just completely strips away all seriousness that 's in the Narcissu series. That's just my opinion though. I haven't read it yet so my opinion is based on the art and from bits and pieces I've read about it on the internet (as shallow as that sounds).

+5 for having Narcissu. But tsktsk, you haven't started it yet? You're missing out, my friends. Or maybe that's just my first-VN-ever-bias kicking in. Speaking of Narcissu, I've tried getting into side 3rd but the art just doesn't sit right with me.

Wow, I feel like I'm so behind since I haven't read Rewrite or Little Busters yet OTL Recently I've added Tokyo Alice, Symphonic Rain and the Steampunk/What a Beautiful Series to my list of VNs to read. Still trying to go through The Second Reproduction though.
