Forgive me for asking, but I was curious about the status of the Violet Hill and Katawa Shoujo podcasts. Had they been cancelled? Or simply scheduled for a later date due to the amount of work? Thanks!

Pretty much what I was going to touch on. I haven't read an awful lot of VNs, but in terms of storytelling a "perfect" character is bland, unrelatable, and inhuman. I'd very much prefer to read a story where the character actually has flaws. This spans across all types of mediums; movies, novels, VNs. I think when you lose the realism, that's when it becomes uninteresting. Stories consist of tension, and with perfect characters you lose a lot of that.

Came across this masterpiece a while back.

It doesn't look half bad. What's good about it is that it reaches a wider audience. My parents are big moviegoers, so I can definitely see them watching this. If I show them the anime, though... Well, they aren't into anime as much as I am. In any case, as long as the story remains "somewhat" intact, I would definitely give it a watch.

You could always laser-engrave "Lucid9" onto the roof of your house so that every plane that flies by sees that you support— *Clears throat* Anyway... thanks for the videos, Ren. We all really appreciate you taking the time to make them. It's understandable. You'd be surprised how many good OELVN there are, though. (It was an OELVN that made me want to get involved in writing for a visual novel.) While determining quality is always subjective, I can guarantee that most in the OELVN community work hard at what they do. Like Diamon said, there's little harm in trying something that piques your interest. As for our visual novel, Dia explained the gist of what to expect. Thank you so much for addressing your concerns and we hope you have the time and interest to give Lucid9 (and other OELVNs) a shot.

Am I the only one who's sometimes afraid to watch the end of a series because you'll know you'll feel dead inside once it's over? Anywho, one of the series I'm watching now is Parasyte. It's been extremely popular now, so I'm sure most of you are familiar with it. In my opinion, the writing was phenomenal. Thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish.

Welcome, Althoris! It's nice to meet you. Another Katawa Shoujo lover. ;_; Can we also be bffs? What was the first path you read? I know mine was Emi's. Hanako's might be my favorite, but I still need to finish reading it. (I was swamped by college before I got the chance)

I've tried Cloudnovel while I was helping create the Lucid9 demo, and I can say it's extremely easy to use. Even a noob like me can do it! It's something I highly recommend using if codes and variables and whatnots make you queasy.

I really look forward to hearing the Katawa Shoujo and Violet Hill podcasts! I'll be sure to keep a close watch on the thread.

Hello, OriginalRen! I would like to volunteer for episode 11. I'm not sure if this will be a problem, since I may also be in episode 13 as you interview some members of the Lucid9 project. Also, I'm still fairly new to visual novels, so I may not be as insightful about the topic as others. ^^'

Like some readers, Katawa Shoujo was the first visual novel I've read. (And it was beautiful) Afterwards, I began reading other OELVNs like Sepia Tears, Crimson Raflessia, Exogenisis, Juniper's Knot, ect. and they were all good. About a month ago I then started to read one of the professional based ones: Rewrite, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and a whole lot more. Currently, I'm on Rewrite.

"I am almost always too tired after struggling with the challenge of studying while being a lazy perfectionist." This is also me! I also have a bit of trouble being active on forums, but I try my best to talk once in awhile. Even if i have to write a simple, "Sup." to say hello. ^^

I have to say – and I'm not exaggerating here – Angel Beats is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, and it really changed me as a person. I'll definitely want to read the visual novel if they ever make one.
