Filler is basically an episode (or in Naruto's case, episodes) that is unrelated to the main story. I crashed the game when I tried to skip the OP before the first chapter, but when I booted it up again it ran smoothly through all of the chapters. So, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be on my end. Also, whoever makes a walkthrough for this game will be da real MVP.

...and not another delay. Goddamn I can't wait to finally play this game in english. I even tried using machine translators for the JP version a while ago, but they were so bad I just gave up within ten minutes lol.

lol I started downloading 4 of the 16 installation files and, apparently, it will take over 18 hours to complete. I'm assuming it's from heavy traffic or something, so hopefully things speed up.

As far as games go, I don't really make a big deal out of it if someone is whooping my ass online in a pvp or team based match so long as they aren't acting all high and mighty about it afterwards. It's mainly the dickheads that send you a message saying "LOLZ NOOB YOU SUCK" or some shit which really pisses me off the most. I'm quite stubborn when it comes to competitive online play, so I'll just keep playing against the same person or group until I eventually beat them.

You should be able to run most games in general just fine on it. Just don't expect too much out of emulation though.

Well, ask her if she can get you a google nexus 7 instead. It's about $100 more, and can run most emulators better than what she's got in mind for you right now.
