  1. Just a tip: most people probably won't realize this is your own singing unless you say so in the title. "Cover" does not get the message across to someone like me who isn't familiar with the Youtaite fandom and its lingo. Also, it's useful to put the name of the game the song is from in the title. Almost no one will recognize "Skyclad no Kansokusha" as a song from Steins;Gate.
  2. I've never really used this client for anything other than one-on-one chats or business, so to speak, but I'm a bit curious how this would work. My username is magusgs.
  3. For those who are hesitant about donating, simply buying VNs using the Fuwanovel affiliate links (which will be implemented before long) will go a long way to help supporting the site. You won't get the perks, but you'll get the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that your dollars are being siphoned away from JAST / Mangagamer / Sekai Project and redirected to Tay's bank account. It's the money thought that counts.
  4. I recommend hiring an anime artist to redraw it as a cartoon caricature. The result wouldn't be all that different from traditional portrait techniques (of drawing an idealized representation rather than the person standing in front of them).
  5. I bet this is a circumventable security issue. Make sure the process isn't being blocked by Windows security features or an overly zealous firewall / antivirus suite.
  6. I'm not sure how you could mess up who's speaking. It's right there in the dialogue box. People at least play through the games while they're translating... right? I watched the first 5min or so with a friend (whose Japanese is better than mine). We both agreed that the translation was generally accurate, but the quality of the English was terrible. What it needs is a good editor (though a translator more skilled in English would obviously be best). There were mistranslations, but these resulted in inconsistencies that an editor could easily spot. At that point, the editor could point them out and refer the specific lines for TLC.
  7. You should post your VNDB user profile in your Fuwanovel profile so others can see it. See mine for an example.
  8. It's simply a matter of convenience. Yes, anyone can easily manage their PMs to keep them below the current limit. Anyone can also easily manage their personal PC storage issue and make do with 1TB or less. Yet people go out and buy multiple 3TB HDDs so they don't HAVE to deal with it. Since $20 can buy 500GB of storage (enough to store a gazillion PMs), I see no practical reason to set a limit that isn't ridiculously high.
  9. For $20 a year, could you remove the PM limit or raise it to a ceiling no one would ever reasonably hit, like 1000 or even 10000? I mean, the server costs for storing these can't be THAT much, and removing limits like this that are in place for financial reasons makes sense when people are actually helping to fund the site.
  10. You can't compare fan translations and official localizations as equivalents on the same timeline. They're simply apples and oranges, because fan translators don't have to deal with engine incompatibilities with English Windows, licensing issues, and wrangling over mosaics. Because they're entirely self-sufficient, they can proceed at their own pace, while an official localization can't.
  11. I definitely think we should hold professional translations to high quality standards. I don't think it's acceptable to sell poor-quality translations like that, and I would discourage anyone from buying them.
  12. Precedent shows that IP blocking is NOT an indication that the doors to an English release are closed. This belief is merely a knee-jerk reaction from fans who don't understand Japanese business culture. Both minori and Visual Arts (Key) blocked Western IP addresses prior to announcing licensing deals. minori STILL blocks Western IPs, despite having eroge on sale in English!
  13. Aaeru was a very sincere person who believed passionately in her ideals. Too passionately, I think, and she ended up alienating a lot of people because of it. In the end she fell victim to paranoia as she was so used to being used as a pincushion that she couldn't trust anymore. I enjoyed my arguments with her until the paranoia set in and soured our relations.
  14. You! You're the socks and underwear guy!
  15. I'm not sure how you could miss a major plot point even with a machine translation, unless you're trying to tackle a game that's really, really obtuse that an unskilled translator shouldn't be attempting in the first place.
  16. sanahtlig uses Dimensional Rift. Kittytama is drawn through to Fuwanovel! sanahtlig levels up! Charisma +1! Welcome to the forums! Check out the Blog area if you haven't already. I bet your videos would be warmly received there.
  17. Why not give this one a try? Chatango Shoutbox I saw it recommended on the Elsword forums.
  18. I'm afraid he's known for his "Infinite Stomach". I'll let you figure that one out.
  19. Oh, I thought that was just to troll maefdomn and Lewycool.
  20. The footer is the perfect place. It's right below the Coliseum of Chatter. Before people click to enter, they'll see the shoutbox and will post there instead. Perfect.
  21. Also, I think Clephas said he's a recovering narcissist. Try talking to him. He might have useful advice.
  22. The test is designed to diagnose narcissism. A low score indicates "not narcissistic" and nothing else. It does not indicate or suggest depression. Take the appropriate test if you want to gauge depressive symptoms.
  23. Alright. I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not a mental health professional; I'm merely a scientist and a thinker. Judge my words accordingly. Looking at the Wikipedia page, narcissism doesn't appear to be a genetic disorder; rather it's more associated with one's environment and how one was raised. More than likely, your parents are part of the problem. That means, on this issue, that their judgment can't be trusted. Disregard what they say and seek opinions from other people you can trust to be honest with you. This forum is poorly equipped to help you with this issue. I can provide rational non-expert advice based on my own spontaneous research, which may or may not be useful to you. I could possibly demonstrate how your attitudes are out of touch with reality. But, if I were you, I would find a forum where narcissists (in treatment or in recovery) hang out and pick their brains. They'll be in a better position to help you. They might also be able to hold up a mirror for you and show how loathsome such tendencies can be.
  24. That may indicate a personality disorder. You might want to see professional help about this rather than ask for further advice in this thread.
