One more thing regarding my story. If there are any typos and grammatical errors (I don't know since a great writer never need to proofread their work), claim they are intentional "artistic choices". Pretentious movie critics will love it!

I wrote a basic script. It's a 5 scene play movie: Scene 1: Ryoji, Aaeru, and Tay are sitting in a board meeting discussing serious Fuwa business. Clephas walks in. Ryoji and Aaeru freeze in fear, Tay jumps out the window. A cacophony of screaming can be heard as Clephas devours them. In fact he swallows them both in one bite. Clephas sighs and remarks, "My appetite is still not satiated". Scene 2: Nosebleed is busy spamming Fuwanovel in a cafe. The owners are sick and tired of him buying one coffee and sitting in the same seat until closing time everyday. Who do they call to exterminate their problem? That's right Clephas! He arrives chewing on the remains of an innocent bystander. The owners ask, "Are you the one called Clepahs?", as usual Clephas remains silent. They point at Nosebleed, who is so preoccupied in a discussion about lolis with Steve that he doesn't notice whats going on. "Get hi" but he is cut off. Before he can finish his sentence Clephas swallows him whole like a snake. He then creeps up on Nosebleed and and devours him. Even as Nosebleed was being swallowed he was still typing on his keyboard... What fuwahero! Scene 3: Tiagofvarela and Down are busy having a heated debate over what to do regarding the absence of key Fuwa figures. Down proposes that he take over the position as the next reigning Fuwa emperor. "Objection!" Tiago exclaims. "Quite simply a preposterous proposal. I vote user Anon to be the next supreme executive officer." Down scratches his head in confusion. "Who the hell is that? What's their post count?" "One." Tiago responds. As he says this a din of rioting can be heard outside. "If we don't appoint somebody soon our heads will be on pitch forks" Tiago continues. Down concedes. As he is about to PM Anon that he has been selected as the next ruler over Fuwaland, Clephas breaks out of a closet he had been hiding in the whole time! Shouting, Down says, "Take Anon's life! He's the newly appointed leader". But all Clephas can hear is the rumbling of his tummy. (The scene ends with blood all over the screen). Scene 4: The rioters break into the room to find Clephas using bones as a tooth pick, sitting on the throne. Clephas stares in horror at the rioting leader. For once he speaks. "But...But... How?" Tay, covered in blood and ripped clothing. He made his return with an army of Fuwa denizens *Plays epic Castlevania music* "Die monster, you don't belong in this world!" Clephas responds, "It was not by my hand that I am once again given flesh. I was called here by humans who wish to pay me tribute." Tay: "Tribute!?! You [eat] men's souls and make them your slaves!" "Perhaps the same could be said of all religions..." "Your words are as empty as your soul! Mankind ill needs a savior such as you!" "What is a man but a miserable little pile of secrets. But enough talk... Have at you!" (Blank Screen) Story 5: (Flash back to how Dracula Clephas was resurrected) "Finally, with him at my control, all of Fuwanovel will bow at my might!" Zalor maniacally says . Zalor pulls the leaver (like in Frankenstein). (Zalor's machine glitch up and an explosion happens). Clephas wakes up from his slumber and looks hungrily at Zalor. "No, no! I am not you Fooo" Zalor is devoured before he can finish his plea. I'm so getting banned for this... Edit: I wrote this all in one sitting, that is a testament to its quality!

o.O That happened to you too. Honestly you raise fair points. The only counter argument I can currently think of is that this Mentor program would make Fuwanovel even more newbie friendly than it already is. It would provide newcomers an opportunity to get to know an experienced member, which in the long term could increase their loyalty to this site. There are a lot of people who sign up, and only make like 3 posts (if even) and then never come back. This might be used as a method to counter that problem.

You can't hide the love from Fuwa, happy birthday Eclipsed! Incidentally, it is also user Ren's birthday. Is Ren the reason you had to name yourself OriginalRen? ;P

Nice list Zodai, only one problem. Your forgot Swan Song! The best translated VN most people haven't read.

I don't know much of the purpose of this program yet, but I think the point of it is to help build friendships in the community. Unlike the BM program, this seems to be a more informal thing. Yes you can go to the recommendation sub forum to find VNs to read next, and when you finish a VN, you could always try to get a discussion going on VN talk. But personally, most of the interesting discussions I had on VNs happened over E-mail or pm. A VN mentor program would allow people the opportunity to find somebody to talk to VNs with, in a more personal way (since forums are kind of impersonal). The goal seems to be to create personal connections around that VNs people like. For example if somebody is new to VNs and loves Clannad, and they get me as a mentor. Then I could privately talk to them about Clannad and introduce them to Kanon, ONE~, Air and all the KEY classics. When they read say ONE~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ (technically not KEY, but made by many of the people who originally founded KEY), they might have a lot of thoughts they want to share, but can't find anyone to discuss it with. That's when they would pm their mentor (me) and we could have an involved discussion on ONE~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~. The role of having mentors is to help personalize the community I think . Of course these are just my thoughts and I could be completely wrong.

Here is specific one I remember.

I remember a few of them. When they did happen, I always knew everything would end up okay.

Important: Domain and Host transfer
Zalor replied to Tay's topic in Community Coordination and Feedback
Honestly, I'm not very happy about the torrents being dropped. Not only was it a major convenience to me, but it's already hard enough to introduce VNs to people. Linking them to torrents at least made the first step of actually getting a VN really easy. Whats more, installing and patching a Japanese VN can be a huge pain in the ass the first time you do it. That said. I've always trusted your leadership Tay. I know you always do what's best for this site. If a major sacrifice is necessary to keep this community together, then so be it. Long live Fuwanovel! -
[Spoilers ahead] Favorite Ending in Saya no Uta?
Zalor replied to Zalor's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Regarding spoiler tags, I'm used to using them by nature. But you guys raise fair points. I added a huge warning in my title post. So you don't need to use spoiler tags in this thread anymore! -
I think most people can agree that Saya no Uta doesn't really have any traditional "good" endings. However, determining which of the 3 endings is least worse is a bit difficult. Upon pondering the question, I concluded that depending on your perspective any of these three endings could either be the worst ending, or the least worse. So in your view, which ending did you like the most and why? To avoid spoilers in the poll, I listed the different choices that result in the particular endings. But to clarify:

Usually something sweet. I can't stand a breakfast that isn't sweet. Typically on weekdays I just have toast with butter and honey or jam. On weekends I tend to have pastries. Sometimes those pastries are homemade, sometimes we buy them. But weekends are always good breakfast days.

Aaeru who wrote the guide learned Japanese in this style. Her Japanese got strong enough where she even fan translated for awhile. The most important part is to read. Once you get RTK and Tae Kim's Grammar out of the way, read! With the help of Jparser and a Text hooker, once you know Japanese grammar you are more or less set. In my opinion RTK isn't necessary, but highly beneficial if you choose to do it. Personally I'm currently making the transition from RTK to grammar and reading. From what I have noticed, all the people who know Japanese fairly well on this site prioritized reading after getting the grammar down. Recognizing Kanji and knowing grammar won't do anything for you unless if you constantly expose yourself to the written language. Also, memorizing vocabulary doesn't seem that necessary because you will naturally learn words by running across them enough in reading. This post is a combination of advice I received, and personal observation.

So Kenji, we finally meet! I recently made a post referencing you on this thread. ;P But in all seriousness welcome to the forums Althoris! What was your favorite route in Katawa Shoujo? Also, if you're looking for another VN to read I recommend Kanon and Narcissu. Kanon is a good character focused VN like Katawa Shoujo and is around the same length. Narcissu is a short VN, and it deals with hospitalized characters as well. Picture the prologue of Katawa Shoujo when Hisao is in the hospital. That is the sullen setting of Narcissu.

Lol, what VNs have you guys read with such terrible translations? I have not yet had to drop a VN because the translation was unbearable. Unless you guys are using machine translations, I don't see how this is such a frequent problem. As for me, I drop a VN when it has a long and boring common route (Little Busters, Rewrite, etc).

Is your avatar Ai from Hell Girl (Jigoku Shoujo)? Not going to lie, when I first watched that anime when I was around 13, it really depressed me. Great anime, but so depressing. Oh, and welcome!

Welcome! I can completely relate to having School dominate your time away from your hobbies (-.-). Usually I only have time to read VNs when I'm on holiday. I don't know which VNs you have and haven't read. But if you liked Katawa Shoujo, Yume Miru Kusuri is another great character driven visual novel.

I'm in! Considering that I went through the arduous tasks of writing full blown analytical papers on some of my favorite VNs, I feel I am fully capable of nerding out. Hmm, my favorite VNs are Swan Song, Symphonic Rain, Narcissu, Kanon and Yume Miru Kusuri. These are the VNs I am currently most enthusiastic to speak and write about (I could expand this list though). So send me people who are interested in a good character driven story that focuses on human relationships more than on plot and action. In other words, people interested in Chunni and Type-moon stuff should go to other mentors, I'll take the romantics. Also, I only have solid experience with translated VNs.

Holy shit you actually came back (even if it's just for this thread)! I hope you have a great birthday. I really miss your presence on the forums. Those first few months I spent here during March, April, and May of 2013 were some of my favorite largely in thanks to you and Tay. May this year be filled with great new anime to watch!
