So Love Live! IS a money-making machine, as opposed to what NB said... They just care about money.

Of course they do. Anime is an industry. There are studios who are able to just do whatever they want somehow (like KyoAni) or that try to do that and struggle. But most anime are produced with money coming from big companies who want to make money.

That doesn't mean the people working on it are any less passionate or willing to make something good, but they do need to find the money somewhere, and providing the money gives to the producers a say in a number of things.

Basically, watch Shirobako.

I never denied this fact.

I'm well aware everything in the love live universe, and most anime in general, is for the sole purpose of milking money out of people's pockets. This shouldn't surprise anyone.

But there's more subtle ways of milking money, and endless seasons is a terrible way of doing it for both the companies and the viewers.

I'm mostly arguing why it's terrible for the viewers and why it would turn whatever joy the initial seasons had into complete and utter crap.

Of course in the end, the final decision is dictacted by money, but if we go by this logic most anime discussions are pointless because in the end sales always do the talk and that's kind of a boring outlook on it.

So my main point in this whole thing was how a sequel would give this show bad continuity.

Just because an entire series is based off a money making machine, doesn't mean that money making machine can't be done right. It doesn't mean it can't have substance to it.

And introducing a new cast is basically the best way to keep the machine oiled instead of wearing it out until it can produce no more.

Hm. Fair enough, then. In this point, I can agree.

Nah, n1ght's incredibly awesome arguments bought me.

Now that I think of it, this show should be handed to Urobuchi and he should make a third season out of muse. It'd be amazing. Trust me m8  :makina:

We'll have a great first episode and then go downhill from there.

And people will hype it up so we dont even need to advertise it. Max profit.

Fund it.

Why Urobuchi? I don't think that's really his kind of show... But I'd love a mystery Love Live!, though.

Adding males to LL! would ruin it! Nope!

You don't know how moe they can be. This would be the only thing that could get me to care about Love Live.

Just picture it, Matthew Bellamy balancing his high school life, private life, and career as a japanese idol, the show would print money!

There is no such a thing as a moe male. Males are gross creatures by their own nature!

Using your argument, Love Live Movie is going to be complete crap, because it happens after the climax of season 2. And they've already left school, but they're still performing in the movie...

Season 2 had its won build up and climax, but a 3rd season could have that too. The only difference is that it would be related to another arc.

Sword Art Online had its own climax and drama in the first season, but did that prevent it from having a second season? You can say it's because it's a LN adaptation, but the same thing they do in an adaptation they could do in an original anime.

What I don't understand is why they want to keep the franchise alive if the characters are gone and the plot too. It's a totally different series, that only shares universe and name.

They didn't adapt School Idol Diary. I'd love if they did that...

Actually, the Love Live movie was pretty fucking good, and this is coming from a guy who isn't a huge fan of the series or the show itself.

Who knows, maybe in Sunshine we'll finally get to be able to see Honoka's dad's face as a cameo

That's like saying we'll get to see the face of...

The bus driver in LB.

Please.

Also, the amount of spoilers that I can't spoil. :(

So starless, you are saying that you want 3rd season that is umm 13 episodes? Do you realise that the movie is probably over 2 hours long and you can fit 6-7 episodes in it without fillers? You can basicly get the same thing and it takes less time to watch and it wont have any pointless shit in it. Sorry if I'm wrong I have no idea how the movie is.

Edit: Forgot to add that the movie will have clearly better animation.

Pointless shit? I don't remember any pointless shit on the anime. I don't want something that takes less time to watch. I want MORE TIME with Love Live! SIP... 6 eps is just half a season...
