Oh really?

If you got it to work with Windows 10, then I'd like to know how, as one of my fellow Fuwan has the same problem and I promised to help her with that

I have Windows 8, but there might be similar issues between the two.

When I originally downloaded the game using the Fuwanovel torrent, it didn't work for me at all. I ended up having to download Directx 9.0, download VirtualCloneDrive to mount the disc (Daemon Lite never worked for me...), then do the update 101, then download a new, updated version of the game (togainunochi.exe), then download a new updated version of the patch, then copy the new script, and still, most of the patch didn't work. BUT the script updated and worked. So now I can read it, but the script is the only thing in english, not any of the other stuff like the character names or configuration stuff or anything. I guess the script is what's important though.

If this stuff sounds like it might work for you then I can show you links to where I downloaded all the updated stuff. Cause none of this is in the original Fuwanovel torrent. And I couldn't even get it installed in the first place from what was on the torrent. I don't recommend using the Fuwanovel torrent if you have Windows 8 or newer.

I tried Starless a few days back and well... I think I'll be avoiding nukige from now on. There are a few more VNs I want to try out. I've been trying to get Boku ga Watashi ni Natta Wke to work for like a day now but I'm totally stuck on how to extract the files and installation. -_-

Hmm... Interesting

I'll fiddle around with it a bit and look if I can help my friend in a pinch

Many thanks to you, appreciate it

You're welcome.

The weird thing that happened for me is that when I originally downloaded the Fuwanovel torrent, I would try to mount the togainu.img file, but I would get an error message saying the image was corrupted. Even changing it to an .iso didn't work. So then I installed Virtual Clone Drive, which can mount .ccd files like the one in the torrent. Once I installed that, I right clicked the togainu.ccd file, and mounted it. That got everything working for me, and I was finally able to install the (virtual) disc. So if your friend can't even mount the disc, then I would start with that.

If she's gotten that far, but then gets an "administrator" error message when trying to load the installer, even when she's logged in as administrator, then you have to go and download an updated version of the game (togainunochi.exe), which I found on the aarinfantasy forum:http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f49/t188768-togainu-no-chi-administrator.html

Using Starless as an example for nukige is like using jalapeños as an example for food seasoning. It's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay in the extreme.

Isn't all nukige (especially older ones) all slavey-rapey-mindbreaking themed? :P I swear everytime I see some nice looking 90s style miniature on vndb.org main page, it's always some rape nukige. xD

'Updating' on what I'm currently playing...I've gone a little coo-coo and started several new VN's without finishing the one's I've already started. :wafuu:

Now I have so many-- I'm a little overwhelmed: :komari:

(In no particular order)

  • Deardrops
  • Eroge! ~H mo Game mo Kaihatsu Zanmai~
  • euphoria
  • Grisaia no Kajitsu
  • Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort
  • Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai!
  • Neko Para Vol.2 ~Shimai Neko no Shukure~
  • Ourai no Gahkthun ~What a Shining Braves~
  • Shinigami no Kiss wa Wakare no Aji

I am enjoying reading them all, though. :miyako:

It's just now becoming a little difficult what to pick to continue next during each of my reading sessions. ^_^

Lucid 9

Started off a bit slice-of-lifey but I loved the humour, and the music and art was good, its getting intriguing now. Cant wait to see what happens next

I've just met some weird "detective" girl?

Wow, you're a fast reader! :o

What do you mean by 'cruel'? No spoilers if possible. ;)

All I'm gonna say is that you, the reader, will most likely be a bit frustrated.

Just finished I/O...What a fantastic experience :sacchan: I loved almost everything (atypical art, solid cyberpunk/S-F Setting, awesome OST, great cast of characters, mindblowing narration...). 9/10. Too bad the true endings (B', A' and E') were disappointing (Having said that, B' was pretty cool but not as "striking" as D', for example)...Thanks Leminisca !

Finished Ever 17. And, to be honest, I am a bit disappointed with the ending.

Spoiler

So, in the end he came back in time and told older You to summon himself? Isn't it a time paradox or something? I know every piece of fiction sets its own rules, but come on...

Also, impact of some revelation scenes was lowered because I guessed several plot points. They were still pretty powerful though.

In the end I'm a bit confused that score to give to this VN. It is better than all of the VNs I've given 8 to, but I don't think it deserves a solid 9. I'll still give it 8 for now, though I might reconsider it in the future.

Going to start reading Tokyo Babel tomorrow! Also, is my English good enough for this forum?

That's a lot to read at the same time :marie:

I am so proud :kosame:

I'm currently finishing If My Heart Had Wings(Pulltop ver, also uncensored) :makina: Oh Amane you cutie klutz! :sacchan:

Done with Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort, Katawa Shoujo, Sakura Beach(all), Touching(or Teaching?) Feeling(though more of a dating sim). And now, I'm gonna read:

  • Nekopara(all volumes)
  • Stein;s Gate
  • Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! (there's a 2nd one I think)
  • My Girlfriend is the President
  • Clannad
  • Tomoyo After Story
  • A Kiss for The Petals(all of them. ALL.)
  • Sakura Swim Club
  • Symphonic Rain
  • AIR
  • Lonely Yuri
  • Noble Works
  • KoiChoco
  • Lililum x Triangle
  • Koi iro Chi! Lips
  • Rewrite
  • Wanko Kurasou
  • Ikinari Anata ni Koishiteiru
  • Hoshizora no Memoria
  • and at least 5 more that I forgot. :holo::rimu::wahaha:

I definitely recommend If My Heart Had Wings, but you'll be confused with Ageha's route at first, but fret not, there's a 2nd patch coming that'll fix it. And currently, all the fan discs and Sweet Love are untranslated, but I hear some people plan to translate it after the 2nd patch. Also if you haven't played Katawa Shoujo--it's a masterpiece! If not, one of the best. So yeah....hope you find something interesting from the recommends. VISUAL NOVELS/NOVELS FOR LIFE!! READING IS AWESOME!! Especially with ecchi in the mix :makina::kosame::mare:

Tried to challenge the infamous machine translation from Flyable Heart. To be honest, while the translation was quite off (And sometimes I need to reread it in order to understand it) I think it's still not too bad though compared to Soukoku narration translation (I might be wrong here). Actually, instead of complaining about the translation, I want to complained about the font choice which frankly was very awful. For my opinion about this game, I think the OP was very catchy, the character design was quite cute and MC was like to eat very much.

Well I haven't had much time to read recently, with midterms and my translation project, but this weekend looks pretty open so I've decided to start something new. Got キミへ贈る、ソラの花  the other day and I think it looks pretty nice.

Just started it. I'm not really a huge fan of nakige, but the summary really intrigued me. Sounds weird but interesting :sacchan:
