Seraphim Posted September 2, 2019 Posted September 2, 2019 Regarding Fal. Spoiler I actually started suspecting quite early on that she was two-faced (since she seemed too perfect all the time), so it didn't really come as much of a shock to me. That doesn't change the fact that it's still upsetting, though. Fal's character and route are definitely interesting and memorable, but her actions are despicable and makes it impossible for me to like her. This is one of the few cases where the bad ending feels less bad than the good one, simply because I didn't want Chris to spend any more time with her. I really hate how he surrendered to his primal urges and slept with her no matter which ending you went for. I wish he had just walked out the door as soon as he learned the truth and then never spoke to her again. Quote
Ranzo Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Spoiler Yeah, I thought that Fal had a bit of an impish personality in the beginning and was somewhat different than her perfect persona. I just had no idea that her real personality was that twisted. What made me still like her is that I think that in her own warped way she did love Chris and she genuinely wanted to bare her soul to him. Really, if you think about it the one she really hurt the most in that exchange was Asino she just completely used him. I also just finished Lise's route and again I'm pissed off at that final part Spoiler Why the fuck did you let her go alone with that Skeletor looking motherfucker when you knew he was untrustworthy, knew what he had done to Lise, and knew what he was capable of doing to her. You dumb bastard. Quote

I've been unable to find an answer to that question myself. I want to read the VN, but the Coda translation is supposed to be finished "Soon" according to TodokanaiTL's website. Since I have no idea what Coda actually is, I dunno if I should put off reading until it's done or just go ahead and read the VN as is. To call that a translation is like calling a car without brakes, a steering wheel, and an engine a functioning vehicle. Quote
Clephas Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I'm playing Wakaba Iro Quartet, the latest Lump of Sugar game... Of course, I'm doing it for the mimikko. Quote

I was going to ask you to elaborate, but I found out that Coda has been stuck at ~9% translated since almost a year ago and won't be finished anytime soon, if ever. In other words, I'm putting off reading White Album 2 until my Japanese is at an appropriate level. Quote

In my case, I enjoyed the closing chapter a lot (in fact it is my favorite VN) so I'll recommend you to read it even without CODA. You still have other heroines worth reading Edited September 3, 2019 by TheMode Quote

I guess that this is somewhat important for Setsuna route (and kazusa isn't in the closing chapter) but other heroines are completely apart from it. And I still enjoyed Setsuna route a lot without the need to read coda. (At least I'm not that impatient for the translation to be released) Quote
Hakunon Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Currently playing If You Love Me, Then Say So! (sukisuki) currently, the dirty jokes just get super boring after a while and how everyone just "sexually harrases" the MC is just too overused. I hope it gets better honestly. Quote
Ranzo Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 So, I finally finished my second play through of Symphonic Rain and man, what a emotional ride! It's nice from time to time to reread something to see if it holds up. Symphonic Rain has really reaffirmed why it's in my top ten if not top five. I'm undoubtedly going to listen to that ost some many more times. Quote
Black99 Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 (edited) This my first time posting in this thread but I just want a place where comment my thoughts... Just finished Muv Luv; Extra wasn't that bored like I read before in some places, it was so entertaining, I enjoyed the comedy and the slice of life, I really liked the relationship between the MC and Sumika, Meiya has the stereotype of ojou-sama without common sense and somewhat disliked her for that but I started to get more respect for her after reading the routes of the other heroines. I finished all routes, all what I'll say that are bored lol I skipped some text just to finish it. About Unlimited, I was surprised to learn that Muv Luv is an... isekai? what? I never read the sinopsis, just all blind, I know that Muv Luv is about mechas and aliens, I assumed that something happen in Extra to derive a war against aliens but I never thought it was an isekai, was hard to swallowing that, I expected more than that, a little disappointed but I let it go and kept reading, until I liked Unlimited's story. I just finished Meiya's ending and Yuuko-sensei ending. No motivation to finish other endings because people said it's all similar, I don't have motivation to spent more time on it and the H-scenes are meh. My motivation to read Muv Luv was ML Alternative, I've read very positives commentaries, is in the top VNs on VNDB and everyone says it's one of the best visual novels, I read Muv Luv with that in mind, otherwise I could never have finished or spent much time to Muv Luv Extra, I don't spent so much time reading a VN, unless it's good. All right, then, Muv Luv Extra and Unlimited was just the tip of the iceberg, probably I'll spent more time reading Alternative because the beginning is very interesting, and the only spoilers I've read are that very horrible things happen, don't know details but I'll find it myself. Sorry for the long post and sorry for my English grammar. lol Edited September 6, 2019 by Black99 Inorin 1 Quote
r0xm2n Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Good luck with Alternative. Set aside a lot of free time, cause you'll need it. Quote
Inorin Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 (edited) @Black99 It's a good thing you haven't been spoiled for MLA; many of the events that occur there have more shock value if you went in blind (just like I did). It is a very long read though, so it may take a while before you get to the good bits. Edited September 6, 2019 by wei123 Dreamysyu 1 Quote
littleshogun Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 About White Album 2 (WA2) translation, I would say that it's fine enough to me. Then again I'm not translation expert, so perhaps you better try it first and you can decided to continuing if you don't have the problem with the translation seeing that the translation is widely said as bad (So called). It's too bad that we still didn't have Coda finished the translation, and as for Coda here it's more like the continuation of Introduction Chapter with the triangle love only that the casts is adult (Duh). Disagree there, even if the translation itself is understandable enough, the text formatting would be unnacceptable by 2009 fantranslation standards. The last line or the last word of the sentence showing up at a new text box (could even happen with the period at the end of the sentence!), sometimes the text would fly off the text box... thing was a mess. Quote
Seraphim Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 I could probably handle bad formatting and some translation errors (as long as they're not completely off the mark and change the meaning of the sentences), but not being able to read Coda afterwards is a dealbreaker for me now that I know that it's a major part of the story. I would have been fine with skipping it if it was just a bunch of afterstories full of h-scenes, like in a lot of other VNs. Quote
Seraphim Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Is Chika's route in Majikoi worth reading? I think she's a pretty horrible person, so I'm considering skipping it since I don't really feel like seeing Yamato hooking up with her. The same goes for Kosugi, who I hear has a route in Majikoi S. Well, if you consider Chika to be a horrible person, then no, it's not worth it. Same with Kosugi. While both are very short, there isn't much of a point if you don't like the character. Quote
