Decay Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=503649142 What is Ona-Ken! -International-? Well, let's let Greenlight do the talking for us!This is the adventure game describing unusual days of Nao (the eccentric girl), Kyo (Nao’s oldest friend), Norika (the classmate of Nao and Kyo) and Mako (the older student). They never require you to do complicated maneuver, all you have to do is click to keep on reading and sometimes choose a option from some of them. You can well watch the private scenes of the members of “Ona-ken”. What will become of the people who were involved with Nao’s eccentric behavior? Take your time! sanahtlig Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Aw, Decay stole my story. Anyway, LewdGamer will be publishing an interview with the developer at my request (I helped formulate the questions). I actually didn't publicize this yet because FruitsJam asked me not to. They don't want a media firestorm to flare up and get the game taken off Steam before they've even finished registering. On the bright side, they're in the midst of discussions with JAST and MangaGamer. There's a possibility that the game will be retranslated and remarketed. Darklord Rooke 1 Quote

Chuee Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 It's a shame they didn't translate the title. I'm sure people would love to see a game titled masturbation club international on steam lol. Quote
Satsuki Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Well, this is a really fine example of how broken the Greenlight system is... Quote
Abyssal Monkey Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Needs it, unfortunately. On my trusty horrible-omiter, a device which records how horrible an experience is using a scale from 0 to 10, (hands off people, it's patented,) the reading experience is a steady 5-6. Moderately horrible. Semi horrible. Quasi horrible. But it doesn't make my eyes weep blood, which is always nice...When did 5-6 ever become bad. It should be average to slightly above average. #EverythingWrongWithRatings Well, this is a really fine example of how broken the Greenlight system is...Wouldn't this be an example of GreenLight working as intended? Being the ass that I am though, this seems like a title not in my interests. The bigger question is whether Valve will actually allow this on their store. It seems pretty unlikely. It appears the main reason it hadn't been taken down until now is that it is an all ages demo, a pretty clever way to drum up interest without actually breaking any rules. Quote

Fiddle Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I'll be sure to "buy" this game to test out its "quality" and determine whether "the" transration is good. Funnerific and Suzu Fanatic 2 Quote
Suzu Fanatic Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Steam Greenlight: Linking to the "dark side of DLsite" can't be something Steam can overlook....right? I mean, if minors poke around that site, they'll find some pretty controversial stuff - masturbation club being tame in comparison. AaronIsCrunchy 1 Quote
Deep Blue Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 nukige censored with a broken translation ? (They paid for that translation...) I'm in!!! btw you can already try the uncensored ver from here http://www.dlsite.com/ecchi-eng/work/=/product_id/RE160882.htmlwhich is already *transrated* Quote
Chuee Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Guys it's not a translation, it's a transration, like the guy said. But yeah, there's no way in ever living hell this won't get taken off. Quote

But yeah, there's no way in ever living hell this won't get taken off.Why would it get removed? The free version will have no h-scenes or anything, just a bunch of girls sitting around chatting about fapping. It's dumb but it's just stupid enough to work as a publicity builder for their off-site eroge. edit: Although yeah, maybe linking to DLSite in their description is something they won't allow. I'd actually be interested to see if this actually flies, it could be a new way for eroge sellers to market their wares. Quote

Games were removed before for having 18+ versions available being sold elsewhere, and advertised on the game's website. Maybe Steam are letting up with it now since that yuri game is apparently coming uncensored, but if this thing is a tease for an 18+ sex game, this one has to either be marked as for adults too, or removed. I assume the latter. Quote

I was planning to publicize this news in multiple communities including Reddit. Obviously when the interview is released it'll be publicized to some extent. It's a matter of timing. I had planned to publicize the news in the OP several days ago, before the interview questions had even been handed to FruitsJam. Quote

sanahtlig Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 It's a demo for a nukige put on steam solely as advertisement. The whole thing just seems ridiculously shady, like their purposefully trying to avoid Steam catching notice. Like how the title is in Japanese instead of Masturbation Club -International- ? I doubt this will actually go anywhere, since if they can't link to or mention the 18+ full game there's literally no point to what they're doing. Quote
Decay Posted September 4, 2015 Author Posted September 4, 2015 If the product itself adheres to all rules and guidelines, which it appears to, I don't think they'll take it down. But they may make them remove all mention of where to buy the full version. Quote
sanahtlig Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 It depends on whether Valve is intent on adhering to the letter of the law or they actually don't want their site being used to promote adult content. Honestly I don't which direction Valve is leaning right now. A quote from the maker of Beach Bounce is not something I'm willing to take as Valve's official stance just yet. Quote

There is a special place in hell for AJ Tilley already. So, I generally trust his word as far as I can throw a bus. That being said, it seems realistic enough to be accurate. Steam seems to make a fairly serious effort to adhere to every regions laws thus far when it comes to content issues (just look at games that are locked for some countries, and not others). Quote
Chuee Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 It more or less just seems like they're trying to get in under some grey area which technically allows their demo, as it doesn't break any rules, but going off of other content that isn't allowed, it probably should be too. Quote
Zodai Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 At least it's not another Sakura game True. xD Quote
thetobby Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Just bought the game on DLsite since the topic seems interesting.I have only played 5min so far but the game seems pretty good for what I typical find on that Dlsite. The voice acting and art is good; I am sure even the story is great, but the translation is throwing me off focus.I hope they get the translation issues sorted. It should be pretty easy for a native english speaker even without japanese skills to brush it up to an acceptable level. I'd like to come home, but can I leave her? After all the classes, everybody is feeling freedom.I almost fell on a chair for my tiredness But it is their first try going international and I am enjoying the game so far ignoring the translation issue Quote
