I didn't hate on them. I hated the way they were being done. It's all water under the bridge now.

because those sound stupid. solidbatman was the only logical choice for my 14 year old self registering for Gamespot. I wanted to be Solid Snake, but it was taken. So was Batman. So I went with solidbatman.

The MGS series was the first game series I got hooked on. I could never play it enough. I believe I've beaten all of the MGS games, except the first, around 4 times now.
