Little question before I start reading the VN, I have't watched the anime so I will be delving into this unknown.

Without spoilers (ples:sachi:) how bad was the anime compared to the VN? I heard countless shit ratings from the "anime only watchers" stating that it was a harem fest or whatever it was called, seems like every few EPs the MC goes and bang one of the heroine making it a harem cluster fuck school days 2.0. But I am pretty sure the producers just executed the timeline badly since there are no routes in the anime(?) every single route in the VN was jammed into one timeline.

So, how was it? It seems to be a expected the unexpected SOL VN.

The anime is good, and it's not harem. People don't get that each route ends at some point and a new one starts, is all.

What should I be expecting? Seems very mysterious.

Anime was horrible and I'm not even talking about the way, they adopted the game's scenario to serve as a basis for the animation. Do yourself a favor and play the game instead; forget that anime adaptation ever existed.

I think it's better if you think about the anime as hentai.

Also just do whatever order you want. You will need to finish 1 route though to unlock Sora.

Yosuga no Sora was one of the very first anime I watched, and I can tell you that, as a hentai, it's decent, but as a standalone show, it's pretty terrible.

The way the anime works is that each few episodes is a route, and then at the end of that route time gets reset and another route begins. It's a good way of thinking when it comes to VN adaptations (it worked for Amagami SS), but because it's so short and they decided to include the sex scenes, it's just a rush job with no real value to it.

I would suggest playing the game if you want the full experience, the anime is really only good if you want some meh plot with sex in between.

Just play the game if you ask my opinion here and find it out by yourself. About Yosuga no Sora, I think it's only some sort of slice of life charage with some twincest there (Better expecting that if you want to play this). The setting there was more laidback though ie at some village. For the art, I think it was quite realistic and quite remind me of Innocent Grey one (In term of realistic hair color).

For more info, this game was still in translating progress and the translation project was already started from 2011. Until now, they only managed to translated 3 out of 5 routes with one route almost completed and another untranslated route still under halfway translated. I think the best question that I could think would be when this project will be finished, considering that last 2 routes were progressing very little for a long time there (Granted, there's some real life issue but still). Oh well, the only solution here for now would be waiting (Of course for anyone else who couldn't read Japan).

As the last word here, have fun playing Yosuga no Sora if you already decided that.

I have been blessed with the holy knowledge of Japanese. So no worries there.

Pretty much what Nosebleed said.

Just play the VN if you want the best experience. The anime isn't really bad, but it feels quite rushed with the routes only being 2 episodes long. As for the route order, you can just go nuts there. Like Kiri mentioned, you do have to play one route before you can start Sora's route, so she is the only one you can't start with.

Personally I enjoyed Sora's route the most. I'd rank the routes Sora>Motoka>Kazuha>Akira>Nao. (Idk why, but I hated Nao...)

But yeah, again, just go with the order you want.

Personally, in terms of music (OST), the anime adaptation had a much better soundtrack to soothe the viewers. With all the pianos and violins and stuff, it was beautiful. :kosame:

But in terms of actual plot, every route was crammed into 2-3 episodes with some scenes being an original scenario in the anime. So of course, a lot of scenes were skipped through and replaced with some of their own scenes while maintaining the important parts.

In order to get the full experience of the story, just go play the game.
