MoTheAlmostAuthor Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 To keep this short I'm looking for a new visual novel but can't find any. Please suggest some. Visual novels have to be: .In english .(For the moment) free .non-kenetic .preferably romance Thanks! Quote
Ariurotl Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Very few free VNs out there. The only two that come to mind currently are Katawa Shoujo and Everlasting Summer, but neither of those is Japanese. The first one is OEL, the second is... ORL (and I haven't read it despite knowing both languages!) Quote
DarkZedge Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 Katawa Shoujo, Carpe Diem, Lucid 9 to name some but it is true that there's not many free vns to choose from. Quote
Soulless Watcher Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Homeward, if you hate happy endings and want to commit suicide. I don't judge, much. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 The "free" requirement is super restrictive. Not a lot of people are crazy and motivated enough to put in the amount of work it takes to ship a whole VN and not get paid for it. Assuming you want it not to be utter garbage, of course. The "non-kinetic" requirement actually does restrict things a little further, since Narcissu 1st and 2nd are generally considered to be quite good, though I haven't played them (yet another entry on the long, long backlog...), and are free: http://store.steampowered.com/app/264380/ Quote
Darklord Rooke Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 After looking at the obvious ones (KS, Everlasting Summer etc) you should browse through this forum: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=206f6d8a918bb89be6c8c237793e2f5b Quote
littleshogun Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 If by free you mean 'pirating' there's quite a lot to choose here. But if you really want to free VN ie didn't pay or pirating to get that, it's quite limited indeed and more if you considered non kinetic (Otherwise I'll recommend True Remembrance or 1,000 Lies here). For recommendation, well not much I could do except second Katawa Shoujo here. Fred the Barber 1 Quote
Silvz Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I think he says free because he doesn't have, for now, money for paying. Wouldn't be better for us friends to suggest ones for when he can pay? While he gains his money, he can read Narcissu, free on steam. Quote
Shota_Victory Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 The only one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Unteralterbach, although if you're at all easily offended by loli you should probably stay as far away as you can. Quote
