Darklord Rooke Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Yep, there's a difference between HD and 'Full HD'. Quote
Zakamutt Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 The actually have been using the "HD" line since they launched konosora. The cringe ain't nothing new, though 720p was prolly a bit less common back then. Quote
jetpack003 Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 This is interesting. So they're making a 'new' game based off an original franchise. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I guess there won't be any problems having an 18+ version cut out since there won't be any in the first place. I'll just wait and see how this goes. Hoping someone will bite the bullet and try it out. Looking forward to a future review though. Quote

I've literally never heard the term "Full HD" before, but apparently it indicates 1080p. Expand You probably weren't around when the tech was just taking off, or something. There was this big thing about 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, and consumer conscious people were going around saying people should buy 'full HD' and how 1080i was 'fake' so 'do not buy'. Quote
Decay Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 (edited) The Steam page is up and it includes a bunch of sample screenshots: http://store.steampowered.com/app/547340/ While it's still too early to tell what the translation will be like overall, I'll say that the vibe I get from those screenshots is quite a bit different from the one I get from IMHHW. If the entire game looks like those screenshots, that's actually pretty much fine for some cheap ecchi moege thing. The other thing to note about that steam page is the blatant advertising of partial/covered nudity and the nudity tag, showing a change in philosophy at moenovel. They are now very obviously abandoning their previous mission of delivering products suitable for all audiences. Edited November 22, 2016 by Decay Quote
Dergonu Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Phew... They won't be butchering anything else for the moment. That's nice to see. We can lower the pitchforks I suppose. (For now at least.) Quote

littleshogun Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Don't care about HD thing, but I just take a look to the Steam page. The size was surprisingly low for newer game (3 GB), so maybe the length for this game could be at least around Koi Resort (Or maybe MoeNovel managed to compress the file size perhaps). As for interface, it's usual Pulltop so not much to comment here. That's all for now. Quote
EastCoastDrifter Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Looks to be an original project. That's a good thing I guess? I mean, they're not butchering an already published eroge VN with censorship and garbled English translation, unless I'm missing something here. Quote
yorikbad Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 So, this is how the end of Steam VN's era look like. And no French support? Quote
Mr Poltroon Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I have no particular reason to object. I'll play anything with romance in it, after all. If I managed to play IMHHW, and the English there was incomprehensible on occasion, this one should be just fine. The screenshots illicit no suspicions of incompetence. Fred the Barber 1 Quote
Shota_Victory Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 I would be worried about all the people that seem completely numb to this, but honestly, I couldn't give less shits about whatever Moenovel is doing. Besides, for this particular company, what Fuwa thinks isn't particularly important. What is important is what the Steam userbase thinks, and I'm worried about them. KonoSora was a success, to put it mildly, and I don't much appreciate us getting censored nukige rather than anything actually worthwhile. That being said, if the all-ages version is released on MangaGamer again, I'll probably commit suicide. Quote

Expand If I understood it correctly, this isn't an already existing game they have censored at all, this is a new, ALL-AGES game. (In other words, no censorship anywhere. This is the game's original state.) I don't think this has anything to do with Mangagamer, but if they were to sell the game too, maybe as a second platform for Moenovel other than steam to sell their game, they would sell the same version. (Again, this game isn't censored; it is an all-ages game to begin with.) Expand I got that it's not a direct sequel, but still. Anyway reading this: Quote Next Generation Goddess Auditions! Divine Idol chicks, go on to spread your wings! A glamorous and splendid contest, what a goddess's dreams are made of, is being held. Expand It's quite obvious that it's Pulltop own take on "Time Leap Paradise Super Live!" which is Frontwing's own take on The iDOLM@STER, basically you take an existing Visual Novel IP and you turn it into an Idol Raising Simulation game. Afterall it IS called: "LoveKami -Divinity Stage-" Also if you would notice, the original LoveKami has 11 different voiced characters: https://vndb.org/v4893 While LoveKami -Divinity Stage- only has 3 different voiced characters: https://vndb.org/v20337 So from the info we have so far, it does not seem likely that LoveKami -Divinity Stage- is a full fledged VN like Konosora or the original LoveKami. That doesn't change the fact that the all-ages games that are actually successful in Japan are few and far between. You get things like Clannad and Umineko occasionally, sure. But if you sell an all-ages game in Japan and the West by a completely unknown studio with equal publicity in both countries, Steamfriends will probably buy more copies than the Japanese will. Quote
