I'm aware of that as well.  I don't know the specifics about their obscenity law, other than the basic interpretation of it (depiction of genitals = obscene, and is considered a violation of the obscenity law).  It's basically the same thing we have here in the US, just a more extreme interpretation of the word "obscene".  Miller v. California explicitly stated a way to determine if something is legally obscene via the Miller Test, and as far as I know, there's no similar precedent in Japan.

Well I mean, I'm not going to take time out of my day to actually research the specifics of the laws in Japan to satisfy your curiosity. If you care that much about the tiny details about this, I think you are a bit too invested. They said it's because of legal reasons, and it being linked to them being the publisher specifically, not the producers. That's plenty information to understand that this is something out of their hands.

Like I already said, Corona Blossom is a very unique example, as it was produced by them, and it was also produced at the same time in both English and Japanese, and they took very specific precautions when releasing the patch in order to not make it possible for Japanese readers to obtain the uncesnored version.

If you really need extra information that much, I suggest tweeting or emailing them inquiring about it. I don't really care about the mosaics, I'm mainly interested in the fan disc which isn't translated yet, but as a stretch goal at 105.000$ it's not very likely to happen. Even the 80.000$ for the main title is already quite ambitious considering that their first Kickstarter didn't even reach 60.000$. To be honest I'd be more motivated to back if the goals would be lower. This way it feels just like a waste of time because the goal won't be reached anyway if they are that high. So why even bother to back?!

From what I've seen, they've put in a huge amount of work into this Kickstarter assembling some pretty great looking tiers. That's on top of the fact that they're taking the effort to retranslate most or all of the game in order to make sure it's as high quality as possible. That's not what I would characterize as "the minimum amount of effort," and I'm not sure the lack of mosaics contribute much to that. 

Honestly, I see no reason not to be really optimistic about this project, yet here you are shitting on them while providing no real explanation. And you call me jaded, lol. Maybe it would help if you explained why you think it's bullshit.

The kickstarter has been canceled before the final rush, any partial result is meaningless.

There's no explanation here outside of "me no like, booo".
It's also insane how some people can diminish all of the company's efforts just because of the extremely complex matter with mosaics.

Oh well, as for the digital copy, how would they even sell it without teaming up with MG or Nutaku (which is really hard and pointless when the project is not even funded), just create a whole new special distributive for backers? I simply doubt they saw much sense in that.

They sell the patch for Corona Blossom on dlsite and they'll probably sell the SnK patch on there too. They don't need to create a store themselves.

Going on the premise that $30 is ~£25, give or take, the pricing seems fair from where I'm sat. If they're chucking in the H-scenes in there with it (as here seems to indicate) then that's great, but if they wind up not doing so then it's not the end of the world.

Come on we need the bonus chapters...I could care less if they are trash the vita port does nothing for those of us who are backing for a pc copy. The Vita is also a dying system. The bonus chapters are for everyone (with a pc) while the vita is not. More content for all is better than special circumstances for a few. Just my take. I'm not saying don't have the vita option I'm just saying put it after the bonus chapters.

You're shooting yourself in the foot (less funding and less potential streych goal) for some trash that will tarnish the overall experience anyway (there's areason why moogy and co. refused to translate them).
