Spoiler

As you may already now, Clockwork Ley-Line  was recently released. I have a question. This game is suppose to be a 3 part series, right? So there are three games in the entire series.

I've noticed on VNDB that there are four heroines in Part 1. But then when I checked Part 2, heroines such as Mibu Tsubaki, are no longer heroines anymore, thus there is no route for them. And then in Part 3, the only heroine is Ushio.

So does that mean that all that time you spent with the heroines in Part 1, except for Ushio, doesn't really matter in the end because in the next game, those same heroines don't have a route anymore? So I guess this means only Ushio's route matters?

I don't hate Ushio or anything, I'm just curious as to why those other heroines no longer have routes in the sequels.

Might want to throw a spoiler tag on this one.

Thank you. I had totally forgotten about it. I already fixed it.

As for PC version, we actually only have three heroines (Ushio, Tsubaki, and Neko) while the fourth heroine herself was added at PSV only.

For the routes matter, I think only Ushio was matter if I may said it bluntly. Not the best if I may say if one want to getting closer with the heroine other than Ushio, but as the trilogy of story VN they definitely better in regard of handling that - unlike Grisaia which make us care about heroines with their long routes, only to reveal that the 'true route' of Kajitsu was had Yuuji solved all their problem in one continuity off screen. Anyway while the side heroines might be no matter, I would say that perhaps you should still tried to clear all of their routes imo so that you could enjoy Tokeijikake fully. If anything, at least you only need to deal with two additional heroines instead of four like back at Muv Luv - and extended to Extra in which you'll have five extra heroines to deal.

Spoiler

All the other routes in the game are just a rom-com and they don't matter if you want to progress with the story since things just magically work out in those routes. And that's why there's just nothing to carry over. Same thing with the 2nd installment of the game.

You can consider those routes a way to fill up that H-scene quota.

Ushio's route is the true route where everything related to the story happens. So yeah, it is the most important.

As others have mentioned, Leyline 1 and 2 each have 2 side-heroines, but entering there routes pretty much brushes away the issue at hand, so it's like the rest of the story never exists.

I don't quite agree with the sentiment that these games have to be played together, though.
The games are made in such a way that they can stand decently on their own, to the point that I was actually slightly annoyed how much of the stuff in Leyline 3 they kept exclusive to the third game.

Not really. The first game falls flat on its head if you just read it alone.

Thank you all for your help! I really appreciate it. But yeah, that's kind of what I thought when I realized that this game is a continuous trilogy.
