Introduction
Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.

A-hem, so this is the f
As mentioned above, this VN is a mass of wasted potential. Yes, there are really good points... but between those good points is an interminable amount of pretty much pointless ichaicha, slice-of-life, and a number of other things that made me want to scream.
First, neither Lisa's nor Koharu's routes escaped the trap of mediocrity that Chris and Rie's were taken by. Sadly, both routes are fairly standard charage romance with predictable turns of events... so predictable I fell asleep during
Winged Cloud. Guess I don't really need to make any introduction, since they are already well-known in visual novel community for their boobs-first-story-later "Sakura" series. Of course, after getting a mountain of money poured into their pocket with their previous titles, there is no way that they don't want more. May 29th, they released the 3rd one in the series - Sakura Fantasy Chapter 1. Yes, this is only the chapter 1, because they want to milk as much money as possible from this game (tha
Hi everyone, this is my first blog post but hopefully not my last. I wanted to show off my most recent cover, as I feel immensely proud of it. Plus, I've started playing Steins;Gate and it's SO COOL. I can't wait to get into the meat of the story! I'm sure there's some Steins;Gate fanatics here, heheh. Enjoy!
This is a few days old at this point, but seeing as I'm just now creating this blog, I figured it would be nice to start off with a link to a project I'm really proud of.

This is Gentle Jena from Planetarian, with lyrics I wrote myself. I had a lot of fun with this, and I may do more similar projects with VN BGMs in the future. The lyrics and some explanation of said lyrics are in the video description, if you're curious.
By the way, I'll prob
Love, Vampire Flowers was one of the VNs I have been looking forward to, if only because Lovesick Puppies (by the same company) was such a hidden gem at the time. I won't say this approaches Lovesick Puppies for impact, because it doesn't. In comparison, it begins much more slowly and the problems tend to be more of the 'classic charage' type (well, the heroines' ones anyway). The big draw of this is that the protagonist is about as psychologically mature as you could hope for from a 'good g

Just a bit of warning for those who are using really old versions of Translation Aggregator... to be blunt, they don't work with the current version of Windows 7 or 8. To be more specific, the way the old versions use the dictionaries causes a bug where the application no longer pastes the clipboard contents. I hadn't updated mine since the 2012 update, so I was really surprised when, after I updated my Windows (on both my work and personal computers) that TA stopped working. I figured out wh
I picked this one as my second game for VN of the Month May for a very simple reason... this company's previous works(1/2 Summer and Timepiece Ensemble) were overall enjoyable/emotionally powerful and I was hoping for a repeat of the experience. I'll be honest and say outright that it is nowhere near either of those two for sheer emotional impact, but I did find it more interesting in some ways, intellectually.
First, the basic setting is pretty interesting. The VN takes place in a school wit
May hit me hard with a heck amount of games. 4 titles for May eroge, 4 trials for June eroge, plus Akiba's Trip and Neptunia Re;Birth2. And Sakura Fa--- no, screw that ****. Still, I somehow found the time to put together a review for Love Rec. - the newest title from ALcot that will be released on June 26. Now, let's get to it~
SYNOPSIS
Love Rec’s story takes place at a small school located in a quiet town near the sea. Protagonist Akira Yanase is a camera freak who records even du
I wrote yesterday about the Steam Greenlight campaign for Debonosu's Kagura Douchuuki, a rogue-like H-RPG. Read my article for coverage of the announcement and a first impression. As Steam doesn't allow adult content, this release will be censored, with all adult content removed. Kagura Douchuuki contains dozens of H-scenes, so the content removed will be considerable. By my estimation, more CG will be removed than left behind. The game's art will be thoroughly gutted. Not only will the game its
The latest Digimon game, published by Bandai Namco and developed by MediaVision. It’s a turn-based RPG set in a near-future vision of Japan where virtual reality is a major aspect of society, and hackers who use Digimon run rampant. The story has you play as a (mostly) silent protagonist with a selectable gender. You and […]<img alt=" border="0" src="https://pixel.wp.com/b.gif?host=awesomecurry.wordpress.com&blog=14339326&post=2395&subd=awesomecurry&ref=&feed=1"width=1" he
To be honest, if something more interesting is up before I start this, I'll probably play that... why? Simple, you can name the protagonist, which is enough of a downer for me that I seriously want to avoid this if I can.
Setting that aside... this looks to be a fairly standard charage, though the protagonist isn't - for once - a high school student (instead a college student). A big downside of what I read on the title was that it seemed like the protag is a total dimwit, even by VN standa

Steam: An opportunity and a threat to ero-gaming
The opening of Steam to visual novels is changing the face of professional eroge localization. Until very recently this was a world where every eroge, no matter its merit or lack thereof, sold more or less the same. Story-focused eroge consume several times the resources in time and manpower as short sex-heavy titles, and l
I'm going to be blunt, I wasn't really up for playing this in the first place, and as a result, my opinion of this VN is probably quite a bit lower than it actually deserves... but at the same time, it is probably a bit more realistic than those who are tricked by the pretty pictures. I mostly picked this one up to satisfy those who are curious and because it is technically a May release.
From a writing standpoint, this VN is about average, as moege go. There is nothing really special about
Project Intruduction
We have decided to start a translation project for this VN because the chances of it getting an official translation are close to zero and we know that many people are interested in it. It has over 80000 lines so it is a bit big for a first project but we are confident that we can do it.
Current situation
We already have the first ~500 lines translated but they still need editing. For a detailed status overview, please visit our website and check this thread.

Yesterday I posted a translation of the opening scene to Dark Blue, a short murder mystery VN with netorare elements. I received largely positive feedback, and not surprisingly the topic of making this a full-fledged project came up. My response is as follows.
I have confidence in my (English) writing skills, but not so much in my translation skills. As anyone who's seen my writing in the Japanese chat game thread will realize, my knowledge of Japanese grammar is actually pretty terrible. A J
Introduction
This is probably a fucking terrible idea but I felt like making a blog to talk/rant/cry/be dumb about stuff. I'll try to be serious about mostly everything I say here, but I doubt I'll manage to not end up lightly flaming or saying bullshit sometimes, sorry in advance about that. T_T
I'll use this post to talk about my trip to Japan as well since blogging two lines would be hella lame.

In a remote village, a man suddenly becomes obsessed with spirals. As he collects more and more spirals, he is driven slowly insane, until he states that he is going to express the spiral with his body and is found the next day dead wound up in a circular tub. Upon his death, the danger of the spiral spreads and the real dest
