Introduction
Welcome, fellow Fuwamembers, to the FuwaRecognition thread. Starting this March, we’ll be highlighting some of the best contributions made by our members each month. From snazzy blog articles to delicious forum threads, and perhaps even a few things more on the shitpost part of the spectrum, we'll keep an eye out for the cream of the crop. And then we'll gather them here. Just for you.

I'll review Koisuru Otome to Shugo no Tate - The Code Name is "Shield 9" , Reconquista and ExE.
1. ExE [070601] Yuzusoft 1 2 3 4 There was a big fire at a hospital which inflicted serious damage. Touya's mother, Suzuno, fell victim to its flames. After ten years he still can't overcome his sadness. But he somehow enjoys his life with Makina, his younger sister, and Saya. One day he sees a girl who looks quite like Suzuno. He can't forget her, and goes after her. He finally
Foreword: Vampire stories fail to impress way too often. Tsukihime, Hellsing and Masquerade are the only positive examples I can remember. I would not mind trust reinstalled with some new title.
Synopsis:
Draculius begins when Ogishima Jun, the male protagonist, suddenly finds himself face to face with a childlike maid who introduces herself as Elshlant D. Annoyance. The encounter quickly brings two monumental facts to life: the first is unequivocal proof that vampires exi
Draculius is VN of the Month. There are several other games with high scores, but I'm not ready to vouch for any of them.
1. Minami no Shima ni Furu Yuki 南の島に降る雪 [070511] M ni Aqua Endless blue sky and the shining sun.... There is a small southern island. Ryo and Kanae are childhood friends, who have grown up on the island. They are like brother and sister, but Ryo gradually starts to love Kanae. One day, he tells her that he loves her. But she says, "I'm leaving this islan
Foreword: Clock Up team Dyo creates pretty conventional SF games unlike its older brother, so Zwei Worter is a good time to get acquainted with it to get ready for Rune Lord.
Synopsis:
In 2005, a group of meteors deals a big blow to humanity. But thanks to advanced science and technology, mankind overcomes extinction by creating new intellectual living creatures called "Dissolve".
In 2007, incredibly powerful outer space creatures called Elcid launch their onslaug
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week we have JAST really fulfilled their promise in that they finally released Kimikoi after one time delay, although too bad that there's no physical edition release as of now which should be understandable given the current circumstance pandemy and all (I didn't mind the delay for physical release though if it mean that JAST will release their backlog faster). Other than Kimikoi release, this week we also have the updates from both of fan trans
I only consider Zwei Worter a masterpiece in April.
1. Setsu no Hi セツの火 [070404] Media.Vision Another world is discovered. Creatures there look a lot like primitive human barbarians, so discoverer names it "Inferior". The only link between the worlds is a 5mm hole, so government establishes trade and keeps its existence in secret. But "Inferior" starts to pierce reality of human world, and monsters start to show up. A group of young people with special powers stand up to op
Foreword: After these two great reviews (1 2) I could not miss the birth of this multiverse.
Synopsis: She is a battle heroine Valkyrie. There is an ancient ruin called Time Ship, in which Berserk is sealed tightly. But one day, Berserk comes back to destroy the world. A boy meets Valkyrie, and the story starts...

Since I did just play Trails in the Sky game and I find it was quite interesting, I decided to parodied it into this week VNTS Review. And since we have both of Angel Beats and Yukikoi releases, I changed 'Heroes' into 'Angels' and 'Sky' into 'Snow' (TL Note: Yuki mean snow). I know that there's old manga that was basically the Japanese word for 'The Legend of Angels', although of course I based my title on the Trails RPG so obviously I wouldn't review the continuation of the manga here (Not tha
The final game in the Silverio series enters with a whimper and exits with a bang.
First, this game absolutely requires that you have played the previous two to appreciate. Too much of what is going on requires understanding of concepts that aren't reintroduced but constantly referenced throughout the game. This game is based only a few years after Trinity in Canterbury, the theocratic state ruled by a Japanophilic religion based on seeing old Japan as a sort of El Dorado.

Shirogane no Soleil -Successor of Wyrd- <> is the only masterpiece of the month.
1. Keitai Shoujo ケータイ少女 [070302] Kogado Studio Chihiro is a second year high school student. He is a bit impatient since he's got no girlfriend even though he gets closer to Christmas. One day, while he is on the mobile phone internet, he finds an interesting web site and downloads it. When he finishes it, his phone suddenly flashes..., and a tiny girl appears in front of him. "I'm Rin. W
Anyone observing the EVN scene should know well that yuri, besides being my personal obsession, is one of the most vibrant niches for non-JP visual novels, with many studios and creators dedicated to this theme and a very active fanbase. This seems to be particularly clear nowadays, as even companies like Winged Cloud, the infamous producers of low-effort VN smut, capitalized majorly on the trend, producing mostly GxG games for the past few years. On the other side of the spectrum, Studio Elan r
Foreword: Caramel Box is loved by me for rich in detail worlds, so I'm approaching Utsurigi Nanakoi Tenkiame with high degree of skepticism as this is just a story of seven school wonders written by four different writers. But Caramel Box is full of surprises. Can it redeem even this setting?
Synopsis: There is a school in town. The story of seven mysteries is told among students from generation to generation. Ren is an ordinary student except for the fact that he has a mysterious
For this week VNTS Review title, I'd decided to take 'White' from Shirobako anime (TL Note: Shiro mean white) and 'Witch' from Yumeutsutsu so that we have 'The White Witch'. For more elaboration, in Yumeutsutsu there's in-game called NieMajo in which it's quite prominent in the VN itself and so I take 'Witch' from NieMajo (TL Note: Majo mean witch). Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and if we know this week we have Yumeutsutsu released back at 23rd along with it's fandisc so if you've been waiti
Kanojo-tachi no Ryuugi is a game made by 130cm back in 2006, during the 'golden age of VN innovation'. Like many of the games made during this period, it is far less bound by convention than you see in modern VNs, which has its ups and downs (as most games from this era do). In this case, the most striking element for modern VN readers would probably be the fact that the protagonist is fully voiced. The second is that, in most of the H-scenes (of which there are plenty), the females are the d
Utsurigi Nanakoi Tenkiame can be called VN of the Month, but I'll decide whether it's a masterpiece or not in the review.
1. Natsumegu ナツメグ [070202] Cotton Soft Atsushi is in his second year of high school. His school is going to get merged with another school after the end of the first period, so this is his "last" summer holiday. He enjoys it spending with his friends. One day, the news comes out that Yukako is going to transfer to another school. He decides to gather his
Foreword: I see girls crying as disgusting, so I'm ill-suited for reviewing nakige - checking out different reviews might be a better idea (1 2 3 4 5 6). However, Dear My Friend by the same scenario writer and artist left a lasting impression on me, so I don't mind checking their new work that even contains fantasy elements. There are several heroines who don't cry all the time, anyway.
Synopsis: To Hatoba Kazuki, Nonosaki Akiho had been an irreplaceable being. For as far as when s
I hadn't paid attention, but this series was apparently made by a subsidiary of the same company that owns Minato Soft... which explains the familiarity of the humor and the sound effects.
Shukusei no Girlfriend 2
This entry in the series focuses on Maya, the heroine who serves as an antagonist initially in the first game. Maya is a very straightforward girl with a strong desire to take care of those younger than her. She is very much a warrior maiden with a strong motherly side (whi
Foreword: All the previous complex meta-textual intellectual novels got the highest score from me. Itsuka, Todoku, Ano Sora ni is exactly this kind of novel. So... is it 10/10 for me as well?
Synopsis: In this town, there are "clouds" covering the nightsky, that the starlight won't even pierce. Because of this, constellations would always be too far.
Born and raised in the Tatsumi noble family, Saku has failed to meet the expectations that lie on every male member of the fa
Shukusei no Girlfriend is the first of three games in the series, based in a world where mahou shoujo-like girls calling themselves Stars fight demons to protect humanity... a pretty standard setting that, in most games, would mean lots of tentacles, aku-ochi, and general mayhem that would range from the mildly distasteful to the outright disgusting. While in anime (non-hentai) most mahou shoujo are fairly straightforward and rigidly formulaic battle anime, in VNs, mahou shoujo usually end up o
For this week title I'd just literally translate 'Kimagure' from Kimagure Temptation and 'Sora' from Yosuga no Sora into 'Whimsical' and 'Sky' respectively then combined both words, so we have 'The Whimsical Sky' as this week VNTS Review title. I did a bit more searching and find out that there's a picture called Whimsical Sky, and of course I wouldn't write my opinion on the picture here. Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for this week I would say that this week is quite calm after a big
Hello again and welcome back to the second part of my series of short reviews of EVNs I picked up. Once again I have a mixed bag regarding both content and quality to get through, so let us dive right in.
Eliza (Zachtronics)
Eliza follows our protagonist Evelyn Ishino-Aubrey and how her life and those of others change due to the eponymous AI counseling program she developed some years prior. This is the most ambitious game I'm going to talk about today, mostly being a meditat
Foreword: Year 2006 had like only three chunige, so I'm starved for any action by now. But there are great reviews out there (1 2 3 4), so I can give just personal impression and be done with it.
Synopsis: The story is set in Belmonte Calabro in Italy. Belmonte is the city of filled with Automatas and boasts the biggest number of Automatas produced a year. Automatas are androids. Mechanical beings created from nothing. Most Automatas can be easily distinguished from humans due to t
The Recluce Saga, despite being a somewhat niche 'high fantasy' novel series, is perhaps one of the largest and most monolithic such series to have been written in the last forty years. Beginning back in the eighties and spanning more than twenty books now, it is LE Modesitt Jr.'s signature series, the series that propelled him from a somewhat eccentric author of varying science fantasy and science fiction novels and series to one of the quiet dominators of high fantasy as a genre.
