This list won't feature the VNs in order of "how good they are". Rating them would be way too much of a clusterfuck to me. The VNs are not in their respective order. Meaning number 1 is not the best, and so on. 1_CHAOS; HEAD 2_Cross Channel 3_G-Senjou no Maou 4_Fate/Stay Night 5_Forest This Visual Novel is the easiest visual novel translated to get a bad ending without using a walkthrough- which just adds to the fun of it. It makes a massive amount of references to common literature, which makes it even better. 6_Katahane It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read. 7 Majikoi 8_Little Busters! 9_Tsukihime "You shouldn't tell lies that you can't even fool yourself with" 10_Swan Song A post apocalyptic Visual Novel. 11_Symphonic Rain It may seem like your ordinary moege. Trust me, it's not. 12_Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (and sequel) 13_Sekien no Inganock Steampunk. An atmosphere full of mysteries and references that will make your head blow up. 14_Steins; Gate A visual novel that deals extensively with time travel and it's consequences. 15_Utawarerumono 16_Fault: Milestone (1 & 2) 17_Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 18_Kara no Shoujo 19_Umineko no Naku Koro ni 20_Planetarian 21_Ever 17 Another top 10. 22_Remember11 It lacks in the ending, but otherwise the story of this VN has enough to easily become one of my all-time favorites. 23_Zanmataisei Demonbane 24_Rewrite "Could it possibly be rewritten, this fate of hers?" Another one that enters the top 10. 25_Narcissu 26_Grisaia no Kajitsu 27_Saya no Uta Only if you enjoy dark and messed up settings. 28_Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 29_Eien no Aselia 30_Rose Guns Days (1 & 2) There are small sections of gameplay on this one, but you can skip them by pressing the space bar, so this still qualifies. 31_Sengoku Rance I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality. 32_Phenomeno Want a short VN that can captivate you for their whole duration? Here is it. Visual novel adapted from the youth horror novel written by Hajime Ninomae and illustrated by yoshitoshi ABe. 33_Ef- A Fairy Tale of the Two 34_Dysfunctional Systems Another one great for those who want short Visual Novels. 35_Daibanchou Another Alicesoft title. While Rouga is not near Rance's level when it comes to pissing off people, alicesoft's style is something which often doesn't please people. 36_Yume Miru Kusuri The endings pack quite a punch. 37_Kikokugai- The Cyber Slayer 38_Eden 39_Hoshizora no Memoria 40_Katawa Shoujo Yep, it's somewhat overrated. Still, the fact that it is substantially easier for those who are starting to play visual novels to read should not be discarded, and overall, the story was good. 41_World End Economica 42_YU-NO 43_Shikkoku no Sharnoth Yep, there is a minigame on this one. If you download a save data you can skip the minigame, though. So it still qualifies. Another VN that enters my top 10. 44_Muv Luv Alternative The first Muv Luv didn't have enough to enter this list. You should still read it, though~ MLA is definitely awesome. 45_Dangan Ronpa 46_Comyu - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku 47_Hanachirasu 48_Ayakashibito 49_I/O 50_Deardrops

Well it makes me pretty sad that F/SN's was included in this, and my Saber is hated so much. I've personally never discussed her with any fans so I don't know what "Saberfags" are like. It was my first VN and Saber was my first VN favorite. I wasn't personally attracted to her looks. I thought her whole character design from her blonde hair to her goth outfit was terrible straight off. There's a weird obsession with western Victorian/Goth culture in Japan. But her personality was amazing. She always carried a big stick but talked with that firm but gentle voice. "Shiro, I'm hungry." "Shiro, we should get going." "Shiro?" "Shiro!" I know I can always rely on her being by my side unless she gets possessed by an angry, rejected spirit. True she doesn't have any of the excitement of a Yandere, or the hot and cold teasings of a Tsundere (Though I think her bantering with Shirou in UBW and HFs were really cute.) But you know what they say, girls like bad boys when they're young but marry a nice guy when they're older. I think that applies in reverse to guys as well. ------------------------------------------- My worst experience with a VN was probably My Girlfriend is the President. Now that's stupid! Oh and Muv Luv: Lacrosse.

Oh boy, this is so true. You should really see how some of my friends act towards foreigners, both offline and online. They have this mentality that they are superior compared to people from other countries. It's good to be patriotic, but there's a difference between patriotism and just plain arrogance.

I also don't like frequenting between VNs as playing multiple ones simultaneously breaks my immersion. How to enjoy Chuunibyou: Watch Season 1. Take a deep breath and realize that there is nothing else in store for you in the sequel. Realize that season 2 will only bring pain and suffering to anyone who enjoyed season 1. Remove the thought of watching season 2 from your brain. Ayumi really did hinder TWGOK. I wouldn't say she was the worst out of all but she definitely wasn't great. And if any of you read the manga you know what a pain in the ass she is at the end. Choosing world destruction because she can't stop being moody really annoyed me. Her attitude during the goddesses arc was also annoying but at least it had some reasoning. Chihiro best girl though <3

I agree, true second season was kinda a let down.

The patch includes several additional fixes, such as reduced volume on the OP/EP (65%), ability to skip the OP/EP, and a much needed spellcheck across all the files. Simply place the patch in the game directory or overwrite the current one there and enjoy!

I have like two friends who play VNs and it is really fun to talk about VNs with them but sometimes I think it is not necessary because I had that time when I like stopped watching anime and playing VNs because we were talking all the time about VNs..... it was really bad. That's why I gave up about teaching anyone VNs since I don't want them to waste my time :v I tried once but a friend of mine found it boring and gave up after a while since he was bored(I told him to try majikoi since he is the "romcom" kind, maybe it was a bad choice) .... that's to be expected cause after all not all people love reading all these words found in one VN since we were not raised accustomed to reading a lot , I dunno why I put it that way and not all people are good in English. That's really important, I have one of my friends who's reading visual novels but we rarely read the same VNs. For example currently, I am playing Rewrite while he's playing G-senjou no maou so .... we don't really have anything to talk about right now. Especially that the only VNs we have both played are katawa shoujo and fate. Well yeah they are getting more and more famous and popular even in middle east but I think that's mainly due to the anime adaptaions. It is like how people start reading manga , at first it is to complete something whose anime adaptation wasn't completed like Slam Dunk for example, then they start reading different manga. That was how I got into VNs but the main thing was that I like games where "your choices affect the storyline" , but I quickly got addicted to VNs that I do't really play anything other than them.

Yeah, I'm sure her resilient attitude, her undying willpower, and her refusal to be treated like a common woman have nothing to do with why I like her. Honestly, I may not like Saberfags who come up with half-assed excuses to overrate her character, but the half-assed reasons Saber-haters come up with are just as ridiculous sometimes... Edit: Crap. I decided to dab into some of these NicoMaki doujins since I hadn't today. Yuri has sorta been on my back-burner for a while since I lost interest in it, but these doujin might just restore the enthusiasm I had for the genre. They're absolutely fantastic and the ones drawn by Ooshima Tomo in particular are the best. And now I'm resubscribed to yuri-ism! God, I wonder how long it's been since I've been on their site. Feels nostalgic. ^^

I honestly didn't expect to make this black and white. But midway, it just felt right. maybe because the last few entries were B/W. And I must say, it had a positive effect on the work. I felt a lot more free as i didn't have to struggle with color blending. No longer was I to tame the unruly tablet. Rather, we danced together in my natural element, reliving my days in the sketchbook. It felt natural in fluid and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. if I could have this feeling everyday, Id die happy.

Rintarou Okabe, Steins;Gate. Because no VN quote thread can go on without mentioning this. Also, there's this really great quote during Michiru's route in Grisaia no Kajitsu where Yuuji mentions that he hates people who tries to 'save others' just to satisfy their own ego. I think Hisao said something similar in Katawa Shoujo too, but I'm pretty sure Yuuji placed more emphasis on how hypocritical the act of 'saving someone' can be, so I really liked that quote... but I couldn't remember it right now, nor could I find it through Google... -_-" Ah well.

Don't underestimate me. Even if I were 80, I'd still have some charges left for majikoi.

Well there is at least the partial patch of the common route I believe so that should ease any future projects. I might organize a project for it.

Hmm is this the first time you've played this game? Most of the errors seem to be with the savedata. 1) Make sure the folder and files aren't Read Only (Right click folder, make sure Read Only isn't ticket or filled, then apply to all files) 2) Try renaming the folder savedata to savedata_bak and try running the game again.
