I believe it is customary to write tl;dr posts upon reaching certain post count milestones. Since I actually managed to remember this one before passing it, it's time for me to do that as well, methinks. Well, somehow... I mean, I'm not sure what to write here. Oh yeah, I know what to do! I'll increase the font size, since this post is Very Important. I won't go full Rooke though, don't worry. ...Alright, about me and Fuwanovel. Fuwanovel didn't save me from depression or whatever, and to be honest, I could probably have done without y'all. Hell, I remember reading Higurashi for too long disturbing my sleep, causing real problems for my sleep schedule... maybe if I hadn't done that, I could maybe have done better in uni sometimes? Well, probably not, but still, it's not like the pleasure of VNs hasn't been without consequences. Admittedly, I might well have continued to read VNs even without a community. Maybe I'd even have read more of them, since I'm kind of too busy talking about them to read them these days. We need a word for that... though admittedly I've moved past that phase now and into the fully matured non-VN-reading-VN-reader who mostly interacts with the community around them rather than actually talking about visual novels. But hey, I have to admit you've provided me with some of the best community moments I've had on the 'nets so far. Old IRC and Steve's TS3, shitting on Run, some occasional moments when Run's TS3 wasn't shitting on Run and still was fun... the fuwaskype isn't bad either. I mean, I even got to take a level in 中二 thanks to ボコ茶 (and North, you get a special mention for inspiring the name - I'll even refrain from calling you by a certain other name, just this once. I will nom your cookies forever~). Please note that only two people got a special mention and that you should not treat the lack of such mentions as a sign of lack of affection. Because it amuses me, I shall yet again extend the offer to PM me asking for my honest opinion of you, which I will then provide. I reserve the right to not do this for people who easily get upset, though~ ...My blog and social media work takes up like five hours a week, maybe even eight - my counselor was visibly shaken when I told her, after having spoken about just how damn hard I find it to do any kind of "work". I suppose it's a pretty nice substitute for actually doing some progress IRL. Of course, it might also have kept me from doing those IRL things, so quite possible it may have had a negative impact in a way It's also very possible I'd just be spending my time half-heartedly playing DotA2 or something instead. Basically I'm honestly not sure if I should be thanking any of you for anything, though I have to admit I kind of instinctively feel like this all hasn't been too bad. I'm sure you've done something unambiguously positive... ...Oh yeah, come to think of it you /did/ introduce me to Osu. That's actually pretty nice, it's a great game because each play takes a low amount of time, so you can quit any time. It's also really hard to put down, which negates all these advantages. Oh well. Simply put, the counter on my notifications is not displaying the amount of notifications I have properly. I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. It often says there's no notifications and when I open it there's 3 or 4 new ones. Sometimes it says there's 1 or 2 and there's like 5. And sometimes it also decides to work, it's completely random. This is a re-occuring problem on both my computer and my tablet so I don't believe it's browser/device related. i.e did I break Fuwa?

Well, I have to admit that this is partly true... I know shcboomer uses it, but he's also pursuing something computer science-y. I myself was a CS student as well... but! The program is damn useful for quickly typing stuff up. It's fast (got Word and its ilk open slow), and those tabs are very handy when you tend to have fifteen or so random snippets around.

Let's not get into morality and spenditure discussions regarding the game. Actually, go ahead but people are free to spend their money on whatever the heck they want, waste or not. No comment on the P2W though.

Grisaia as a whole is not realistic at all, anyway. Realism isn't really a good/interesting quality critera in my opinion.

I've been going back recently and watching some older anime. Finally got around to watching all of Eva, continuing Hajime no Ippo, and now a certain "Starfish Aficionado" has got me watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

The registration issues were related to our mail setup, so I signed us up for Mandrill. Emails might be delayed for a while. Should take about 2-3 hours for the account to clear and the first batch of mails to be sent, afterwards everything should be back to going fluently.

And here it is, the last route! This time, it's a bit different in structure, being a lot more heavy on the additional common route scenes, clearing up quite some details about the main story. Enjoy! Rimi's chapter - The Anima Statue And that's it, the last route in Chaos;Head Noah! All that's left is the 'Whose eyes are those eyes?' ending, and the 'blue sky' ending - but I assume those are the same as on the PC version. So, what did you think? I know my bad summaries only give a small taste of what these additional chapters really were, but how did you feel about them? Did you feel like they added anything? Did they help the story overall? I enjoyed them a lot myself, and this definitely is the definitive version of Chaos;Head for me. It not only clears up every small detail that was left untouched before, but it also gives us more time with the rather unusual set of heroines... and I'm a sucker for crazy heroines. A shame Noah never made it on PC... curse you 5pb.!

My friend actually introduced me to this game a little while ago. It was really fun when we played it together (we both have the best poker faces I swear!) First game I played I was the SK... and my friend was none the wiser. I actually managed to be the last one standing in that case. Pretty good first impression. Okay, looks like I have a better fix. In a hex-editor, change a clean copy of ever17PC_us.exe at offset 41382F from: 1C 40 74 to: 1B 31 75 This hijacks a bit of code to reject fonts starting with '@', making it filter for fonts with FIXED_PITCH and FF_MODERN instead (i.e. the fonts we want). With this, Ever17 runs just as it did before on Windows 8.1! This fix should last until we have >100 types of fixed-pitch fonts installed on our systems. Enjoy!

I've gone through the .exe with a debugger and have found the problem. The problem isn't with Windows 8.1 per se - it is due to the number of fonts installed! Due to shoddy programming, the Ever17 engine only looks at the first 100 TrueType fonts that it finds using the EnumFontFamilies() call. It checks the list to see if it contains a font that it knows about, but doesn't know when to stop checking! This causes it to eventually stumble into an illegal area of memory, causing it to crash. One solution might be to start deleting fonts until the font that the engine wants (Courier New) comes up in the first 100 fonts found. Probably not a good idea. I've also tried to skip the font check. This allows the game to run, but you get a weird font in the text. If you want to try this, use a hex editor (e.g. HxD) to open up the ever17PC_us.exe file and at offset 13337 hex, enter: B8 01 00 00 00 EB 52 I don't have the time to look into this any further at the moment.
