(I can't make a proper banner right now so have a sign I made a while ago, just until I get my pc back) One of the greatest joys of using a forum is undoubtedly having a pretty signature and/or avatar to show off. Thinking that, I decided to create the Signatures Hub, a place where people can share their works, tutorials - as well as those that do not belong to them, as long as proper credits are given to the creators -, resources and tips. In addition, everyone is free to ask for a signature/avatar, I'm sure someone will take your request and make a really great one. For those who make signatures and avatars not for their use, but just because you enjoy doing so, you can drop them here for people to pick them up. This was something I did on a forum years ago, and I think it'll work well here too. People who want to learn how to make signatures can ask for opinions on their works and help with improving, also possibly taking requests once their confidence has build up enough for it. Please, keep in mind the avatar and signature rules we have on the forums. No explicit nudity (genitalia and female nipples are in this category) No pornography (this includes implied sexual acts and bodily fluids) No gore (disembowelment, dismemberment, torture, etc.) No offensive content (profanity, hate speech, offensive symbolism, etc.) No seizure inducing GIFs (or GIFs that make people's eyes bleed in general) No signatures exceeding 400 Kbs in filesize Lexicon As we have discussions about the works posted here, I found it relevant to add a lexicon for those who are interested in learning and don't know what is being said. Also, please check it before making a request as "Render" is word whose meaning is fairly unknown when it comes to signatures and alike. The Objective: How smart are you when it comes to music from visual novels and anime? Think you got what it takes to be the top dog and claim the title of musical genius here on Fuwanovel? Let the members themselves decide! The goal of the game is simple: answer as many questions about visual novel/anime musical trivia as you can. With a total of 60 different pieces of music to listen to, this event will surely test your knowledge about OSTs and hit singles. Here's the twist though: I am not creating the questions. That's right, you the users get to make the quiz this time around; I am merely the man who will host it. Got what it takes? How it Works: Over the course of the next 2 weeks, users from Fuwanovel will be allowed to send me a list of songs or jingles from both visual novels and anime via PM that they wish to have featured in a massive 60 question musical trivia quiz. All you need to do as the users is message me with the following items: An mp3 or downloadable format of the song(s) and/or jingle(s) in question (YouTube video links also work). These pieces of music can be from a visual novel or an anime A message stating what segment I should use from the song(s) and/or jingle(s) in question (i.e. = 3:41 - 4:05) Segments from each piece of music should be no shorter than 15 seconds and no longer than 30 seconds. You are allowed to send as many songs and/or jingles as you'd like via PM. In addition, should you want to send more pieces of music in the future, you are able to do so by sending more in the same PM. In 2 weeks time, the cutoff will occur and I will begin compiling the final music quiz. Past participants of the /index.php?/topic/5965-visual-novel-trivia-month/?hl=visual+novel+trivia">visual novel trivia month thread will know exactly what to expect for this quiz. Depending on the number of total entries I get, I may or may not select all of the music you send me. As such, you should list them in order of importance should I have the need to cut some. When I compile the final quiz by cutting the segments and hosting them on my Mixcloud account, I will be sure to evenly distribute the amount of entries from each person that submitted at least 1 piece of music. This way, everyone will start out with the same fair advantage should any questions already be known to them. If I need to fill in additional questions, I will choose them myself. You can't go wrong with the 3-step formula. From my years of experience of playing moege, I know that all meaningful relationships must: 1) Start with an embarrassing accident 2) Have a donkan and decently attractive1 protag 3) Include cherry blossoms somewhere in the background Strategically speaking, my first move would be to 'accidentally' smack her in the eye, thus sending her to the hospital. She would then get an eye patch while she recovered - this kills two birds with one stone: if on the off-chance you're really ugly, then she wouldn't be able to tell with the eye patch over her only eye1 (this will also give her a chuu2 look, which is +5 badass points). Anyway, since she is now visually-impaired while she recovers, she will obviously need assistance with everyday things such as walking and eating. Naturally, you volunteer to assist her because the incident was your fault in the first place. This allows you to maximize your time together with her (whether she likes it or not) and lets you hold her hand while you help her walk. I know this is an ingenious strategy, but please, hold your applause until the end. Now that we have the embarrassing accident and attractiveness out of the way, we need to work on our donkan. You need to be clueless - and I mean really oblivious. If she starts to make romantic advances towards you, the worst thing you could do is notice right away. When you come down to it, what is the point of any holiday? Most of them are more of a headache than fun and are simply celebrated, because our parents celebrated them. Much like religion there is only meaning in them if you believe that there is.

Well this is a kind of VN where you'll have a drive to continue once you get in the hype train. Seriously, once it gets good, it's hard to stop reading. You have to actually like and enjoy the story first tho so if you have some hate among the characters/story (but you CAN'T hate Mayu-mayu), it might be a different case. I myself finished this where I cut my sleep by a couple of hours just to read it. So yeah my 6 hours sleep went to 4 hours but I don't regret it huehue

All right, let's take this from a logical perspective, regardless of whether it is valid to say that a birthday's traditional aspects make it rightfully important. I like cake. You like cake. I prefer pie, but cake is still good. If you don't like cake, then I'll just eat my hat and we'll be on our (separate) ways. We all appreciate days when we can sit back, eat cake, and have fun, setting aside entirely whether there's some symbolic shizzle behind it. Why do these days fall on certain, uh, days? Why don't we arrange them on some other days? Why do I touch myself at night? The answer is: Why not? There's five weekdays and two weekend days (the asymmetry of those phrases makes me want to punch something), and we keep things that way because it improves work efficiency and stuff. Why must the weekend days fall on Saturday and Sunday, in accordance with the Jewish and Christian faiths? Doesn't that violate the separation of church and state? Why are you asking so many questions? The reason is that it doesn't matter whether you're a Jew or Christian, because having the weekend days on those two days benefits the largest portion of the population and harms nobody else. Having them on Tuesday and Wednesday wouldn't make anything better for a nonreligious person, but it would inconvenience a lot of other people, so there's no point in changing it. If we lived in a state that's officially secular, but in which the majority of the population happens to follow the Flying Spaghetti Monster, who commands that the sabbath lie on Thursday, then the all-secular, nonreligious state would put one of the official off-days on Thursday for merely practical purposes. Birthdays work the same way. If birthdays didn't exist (which doesn't make sense, but shut up), then we'd celebrate those days some other time to make up for it. But there's some people who do follow the tradition of birthdays, and getting rid of them would only inconvenience them and do nothing to a birthday-heathen, and I love cake, so deal with it.

But this is unique in a good way, it's filled with clever writing and dialogue to enhance the experience that is the story they're telling. Also they do show you the meaningful stuff happening on screen, you can't say literally nothing happens, it's just that most of the exposure occurs in the form of dialogue, but that dialogue is quite cleverly crafted. As someone else put it: "Bakemonogatari" is essentially a verbal performance with visual support. It was an experimental series that succeeded. One can not deny the clever writing that went into the show, sadly a lot of the cleverness is lost in subtitles, no matter how good these subtitles may be (and any fansub will tell you the same). Whenever someome tells me Bakemonogatari is not good because there's not a lot of action happening on screen, a kitten dies. This series is one of the most well thought out anime in recent years and it executes the theme brilliantly, the visuals are beautiful and they serve as a support for the awesome dialogues, so yes this anime does utilize visuals more cleverely than most I would even say, it's just that unlike most anime, this one is not about fast paced action or anything like that. And the sheer amount of Monogatari fans probably shows why this series is so good. I agree that this series is not for everybody, it absolutely is not, but saying it's not good because it doesn't fit the medium or doesn't have a lot going on screen really reallyyyy irks me. The Monogatari series is a product created from amazing author working with an amazing director to create an amazing story. It's a journey through some of the most amazing prose, coupled with some of the most amazing visuals, it doesn't need to have crazy fast paced action, it's meant to make the viewer witness a journey created mainly by words. Anyway, started watching Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, brilliant, fucking brilliant, that's all I have to say.

This is the first visual novel I've ever read, it was a nice story... I found myself having some heartthrob at the end of each route, it was really touching I hope the fan disk gets translated, I really don't want it to end
