Well I'm going to be the anti cupid here and end the fun. While I'm totally cool with fuwans dating each other (which has happened before), I don't believe a public thread to match people (or whatever the goal of this thread is) is the way to go about it. Please use a more private way to do this instead. Fuwanovel is not a dating site (well, not until i force Tay to create love.fuwanovel.net) and public threads for you to post your "dating profile" or whatever really isn't productive discussion nor something we believe belongs in here. So if you're actually romantically interested in someone, please make sure to take that into a private place, though you can flaunt it in public a little, that's cool, we all like knowing there's some love blooming in our website, but anything more needs to remain in PMs or somewhere else.

HELL YES! Massive fan of Trails in the Sky and will be buying this as soon as it's released. Been waiting for years for the Trails in the Sky:SC to be released, and it's awesome to know Cold Steel has also been 100% translated and will be following soon after. People should play Trails on the PC if they're able, not the PSP. The translation is better

We never found this to be a problem, even if ideally it'd be better for the reader to think about the question itself, testing each answer is a completely fine method of resolution as well! ------- On another topic, it's probably time for an update about the current progress. Concerning the writing, even though you can't really see it yet, the whole common route has been finally drafted (it will require a lot of rewriting and editing before it is final though). The wordcount of common route can be estimated to 150 000 words (there might be more when the common route gets finalized). I don't have any estimate for the release of the whole common route as a demo, so don't ask me!^^ Other than that, we've been working a lot on lore building, and heroine routes. And I've been realizing lately that common route is merely only a pebble in the grand scheme of things. Maybe we should rename this common route to "prologue"? Anyway, I think it would definitely fit. I'm more considering common route as an introductory story on its own. And even if the 4/5 first days might currently make you feel that this common route is your typical comedy oriented / non plot focused common route, it is actually not the case. But I'll let you discover that in time! Concerning the art department, things have been somehow reaching a stalemate lately, mostly because of exams. Things should go back to normal during summer, I hope. I do have to admit that we're having a lot of problems with composers. It's not always an easy thing to convince people to participate in your project for free, and it's natural that people end up leaving or stop involving themselves because they are not that interested. Some of you might have noticed that the music in Lucid9 is not exactly very consistent. The reason being that the whole current OST have been produced by 4 different composers so far (some of them left, so they had to be replaced, but their replacement left again...). So it has been (and it still is) a real headache for me. (//end of ranting time) The area that made the most progress those last few weeks is unmistakably the engine. The cloudnovel engine is constantly being improved! For example, you can now finally save and load your progress through the use of a link (built-in save function is planned as well, but not in the works currently). you can also find a skip and previous button while playing the demo. Or maybe you've noticed those new animations that I've been progressively adding on the demo, that use easing, making the movement animations of the camera and the sprites much, much smoother (No more "linear only" animations). There are also tons of new features from the creator side that have been added, and that make working and creating our demo on cloudnovel such a breeze, but it probably won't interest you (and I will talk about those in a cloudnovel dedicated topic that I will create in the near future I believe). Concerning the day 5 segment of the demo that will be released (let's call this demo 2.1), I hope to be able to implement it and release it during July. No promises though, as usual. Day 5 is mostly the climax / peak of the "enjoyable school life" part of the demo, having the whole cast interact as a group between each other (which creates some very interesting and sometimes rather... hilarious combinations and situations). For those who are wanting the pace to pick up, our apologies in advance, it will not be for demo 2.1. But don't worry, the rest of common route should meet your expectations! TL;DR : It depends on the area, but overall, progress is being made! Stay tuned, and don't hesitate to comment on this thread! (And for those who haven't yet, make sure to play the demo 2.0!)

Platform: PS3/Vita (Vita TV?) I'm more shocked than excited (well, I'm beyond excited) Apparently we are seeing the continuation for the Legend of Heroes series in the west. This is the 6th game in the series that The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky came from (on PSP and Steam, JRPG fans, play it.) I never even imagined that we would see this game in English. I thought this series would be over and done with in the US after Trails in the Sky SC, but upon reading some info about this, Falcom themselves went to XSeed games and pushed for a localization. Even more news... the game is coming out this year. so fans in the US get to look forward to Trails in the Sky SC and this game coming out in 2015. I'm a huge fan of this series, and I've played all of them in Japanese. I loved this game, and people who have never played any Legend of Heroes should really look into it. However, XSeed is skipping three whole games which provide story to the series as a whole. Falcom said it would be alright to play this one as a entry way into the series, and I can see why he would say that, but I feel like they should be played in order, but with the aging PS3 and Vita, I ca nunderstand see why they would push for it to be released this year. Anyone else excited for this?

Hi Im Krills wife Cathy or as he calls me Angel I will gladly give updates on his condition to anyone who ask He is home from the hospital He was released on Monday he was in the hospital 6 days He had about 6 or 7 mini strokes that went undetected and then a much larger stroke that caused alot of damage to his brain He has in one week regained the ability to use his voice to make words eat solid foods and the knowledge of were he is and what year it is Walking Feeding himself Showering unassisted These things he was unable to do by Monday night of last week The day i took him to the hospital he thought it was 1925 He has a severe case of aphasia His speech has suffered the most he cant recognize alot of things yet but He is going to start therapy this weekend to regain as much of all that back as possible The drs say he will regain alot back but there was quite a bit of damage from the strokes that killed brain cells and areas of the brain so there are things he will never get back

Avatar: The Last Fuwabender* *Note: There will be no Avatar: The Last Airbender references from this point on.* An avatar, also known as profile picture, is defined via Google as "An icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, Internet forums, etc." In the case of the Fuwanovel Forums, avatars typically represent one's identity, or at least represents whatever appeals to them personally at that particular point in time (such as a favorite character, "waifu", etc). Many users of this forum have different ways of utilizing their avatars and through years of extensive research I have been able to group them into the following: The Eternal: users who have had a single avatar since the beginning of their creation. ie. Zalor The Loyalist: users who have a single unique avatar that they change to variations of. Can change to another avatar, but typically returns to the original unique avatar ie. TarzanofVersailles The Bandwagoner: users who change their avatar on a whim depending on their current mood or preferences which can change over time. This can branch to Settlers who very rarely change their avatar to a new one ie. Clephas, or Travelers who change to a new avatar relatively quickly ie. Eclipsed (pre-Louise era) The Identity Crisiser: users who cycle / rotate their avatar on a frequent basis to a select few unique avatars while typically being unable to settle down on any particular one. May also become a Bandwagoner at times. ie. Kaguya-sama Eternals are the most powerful class of avatar users. Their very existence is so great, that if one were to ever somehow undergo an avatar change, the resulting shockwave can very well destroy the forums (an example being the fateful Taypocalypse of '14). Loyalists are the second most powerful class of avatars. They are typically very fond of their avatars and only choose variations of said avatar when changing avatars, or in the case that they do choose a new avatar, they tend to revert back to the original unique one eventually. Bandwagoners (subclass: Settlers/Travelers) are the common folk. Settlers are more powerful than Travelers. The Identity Crisisers are the wildcards. I'm not going to argue about what defines a VN here. To be blunt, the fights over that issue - which were fairly pointless - were bad enough in the forums. That said, I am going to explain why VN terms tend to be so fuzzy and hard/impossible to pin down. 1. We are basically defining a medium that is new to us (new being a relative term, lol). 2. Pseudo-Japanisms like charage, moege, nakige, etc. are generalized terms that represent a certain type of structure and purpose to individual VNs. For people who like to nitpick, these terms really aren't fitting, because they are basically umbrella terms that contain a lot more than you'd think. 3. The Japanese otaku-media tendency to turn everything into an archetype creates an illusion of a 'universal unity of ideas'. Of course, there are a lot of different reasons besides these, but these are some of the more obvious ones. However, perhaps the one that bothers people the most are the pseudo-Japanisms that I and some others use and have been helpfully defined (inasmuch as that is possible) by various people. I should first explain what a pseudo-Japanism is. First, as a prime example, a visual novel is a term that came from the Japanese originally, but it is one we took and redefined for our own purposes. While the term originated in Japan, it is rarely used over there and the fundamental meaning is slightly different to them than it is to us. This is similar to the pseudo-anglicanisms like 'マンション’ that litter the Japanese language. Similarly, while the term 'moege' was coined in Japan, the actual meaning of the word changed immensely just in the past few years, as it was absorbed and reshaped by the perceptions of the Western community. Anyone who has played a 'straight moege' like Shuffle or Da Capo will understand what they are, but once you start expanding into the various other types that expanded from moege to birth new child genres, people start getting confused. To be blunt, we've gone and created a new specialist genre that pretends to be from Japan but is really almost wholly our own, because the meanings are not, strictly speaking, matching to those in Japan anymore. Of course, in a narrow sense of the word, some are the same - such as nakige and utsuge - but in the broad sense of the word, the concept of the 'charage' is almost entirely one we created to define a type of VN that branched out and away from the VNs we define as moege. In other words, the big mistake a lot of new and old people in the community make is in thinking these terms mean the same to the community in Japan as they do to the people here. These terms are ultimately ours, as they have been irreversibly shaped by our perceptions of their meaning in the way they are used. For the sake of those who don't have as much experience as I do, I'll explain the Japanese tendency toward archetyping everything. First, you have to understand that Asian culture in general sees imitation as a compliment, rather than a failing or an insult. Second, Japanese thinking is hyper-conservative, despite the rich sub-cultures that have bored holes into the base of their society. This extends to otaku culture as well and is encouraged by the commercialization of new mediums and genres as they become popular. In Japan, it wouldn't be wrong to say people 'like what they recognize'. It is this that leads to archetypical characters, settings, and stories being so dominant in VNs, anime, and manga. Of course, we see the same thing over here... but it is a much slower process. In just two or three years, we can see what was new becoming an archetype in otaku media. Over here, it tends to take ten to twenty years. It is simply a function of how our cultures work. Americans tend to dislike obviously repeating themes, and as a result we have a lot of encouragement for 'creativity' and it is harder for something to become an archetype in the first place, because we move on so fast. The Japanese find something they like, then they repeat it over and over until it becomes a tradition. Modern technology has just exacerbated this tendency, when it comes to otaku culture, lol. Edit: I should also note that the natural tendency of the Japanese is to polish things until they shine, a tendency that is reflected in their high-quality domestic products. To an extent, we can see that with VNs, as companies tend to prefer to produce a solid product that is similar if not identical to all its previous products. Unfortunately, the limitations created by that are unsuited to entertainment in general, which is the big reason why great artists and writers will all of the sudden suffer from a deep drop in quality (usually because companies want them to reproduce exactly the same VN as before, lol).

Shuffle anime is better than the VN (Kaede). Welcome to Fuwa. I'm our resident untranslated VN expert. Check out Marie/Kaguya's list in the Recommendations forum for a general list of translated VNs he considers to be excellent. I also made up a bunch of genre lists, as well as a non-ero list, that are also listed in one of the pinned posts. Depending on what you like, we've got some good veterans here who can make recommendations. Since there are relatively few good female-oriented VNs translated, I'm afraid all my recommendations but Hakuoki will be in Japanese, lol.

See I never had an issue with 8 since I am a regular gamer on top of a VN reader, I get better FPS out of my games running windows 8 then I do in 7. And I ve already ran the technical preview which is quite solid despite it being a beta build.

Guy's you aren't seeing the true brilliance of what Winged Cloud is doing here. They are cleverly setting the bar so low, that with each subsequent sequel, the Sakura games can only improve. By gathering great publicity thought the notoriety of the first few games, they will shock us with the Shakespeare level quality they are saving for their last game.

From what I understand, Utawarerumono is based off of old Ainu legends. It's possible some Breath of Fire stuff came from there as well, or it could just be a coincidence.

I'd gladly pay for all those. If I had to name one in particular I'd like to see -fully- translated, it'd be Soukoku no Arterial. The card game aspect thingy of that seems pretty cool. Man, I wish.

I've got two. Once, I got on a plane and foolishly only brought 2 forms of entertainment for the whole trip: G-senjou and Kiss x Sis. Not knowing, I started kiss x sis in the airport but quickly realized how lewd it was and put that down. Then I continued playing g-senjou. When I got on the plane, for the first time in my life I did not sit next to an oversized american. It was a cute girl a few years older than me. But I didn't feel like talking to her and making a single serving friend, so I played my porn game. I avoided instant death by sensing an impending H scene with a heroine and turning the game off, but then I had to endure the remaining 6 hours of nothing. Second, probably more embarrassing for the recipient. My friend called me on Skype while I was QCing an H-scene that I was almost done, and I didn't have headphones on. He had to bear with such lines as AH NN JMELKMGH EUMA IUKUUUUUUUU~~~~~~~uUUU~~UU`uUU`U for a few minutes before asking me for a link.
