Watermarks included for originality) Hey everyone, I wanted to take the time to post a semi-serious (but mostly serious) post about how much all of the Skype/PM birthday messages meant to me today. After signing into Fuwanovel and having an exploding inbox of messages (and a thread that only the gods could have created) and personal offline Skype messages, I just want to say thank you. Being in Japan is sometimes a little lonely, but I always know I have some pretty awesome people to come back to at the end of the day. I understand a lot of updates are slow on my end and that I always try my best to post new things because I just like to spew all of my ideas out on the table at once, but that doesn't mean I never want to stop following through with what I love doing for the site. Thanks again guys for being so understanding this last half year since I moved out to Japan. Thanks so much for all the support and kind words, and above all, thanks so much for being my friend. In a series of tragic events, OriginalRun has been found dead in his apartment on his 25th birthday in Japan due to being "forever alone" and it being revealed by multiple members of the community that Yazawa Nico was his birthday present all along. He realized he wasn't as loved as solidbatman, and as such has died. RIP in pepperoni...

Learning Kanji through flashcards is boring, but learning Kanji through VNs is fun. Like what they always say - What you need in reading untranslated VNs is not Kanji, but grammar. Kanji (and vocab) can be learned slowly as you keep on reading vns. I think the 200 Kanji you know is enough if you know how to use either Jparser or a dictionary program.

You can get Kanon and Air easily on J-List, shrinkwrapped and new. They're not exactly cheap, given how old they are, and newer releases will cost you a lot more, but if it's Key, you can pretty much bet that you can import it from J-List. Unfortunately, their import selection beyond Key is super limited... So, I completely agree that there are a lot of VNs I would like to buy but have been completely unable to. I was proud of myself for getting a (new, shrinkwrapped) G-Senjou no Maou off of Mandarake recently, but that's about as adventurous as I've been in finding Japanese sources for importing VNs. I'm doing my best to try to support the medium (I have either an imported or legally-licensed downloaded copy of every VN I've ever played except Comyu), but it's really not easy in the US. Piracy, on the other hand, is unfortunately trivial...
