I'm not sure who wrote that page, but the translator himself is actually pretty good, even Rooke was relatively satisfied by his writing. He's also working for MG on Higurashi's retranslation (and has actually translated Index's light novels for Yen Press). I highly recommend backing this, if not for the game itself, then for what these guys might bring you in the future.

Nanairo Reincarnation is not too hard and it fits your bill (though it is a comedy/horror/mystery/mild-mindfuck)... if you want, I'll give you a crash course in understanding Japanese ideas of ghosts, spirits, and the like so you won't feel lost, lol.

Ahaha... no. That's far too complex for MTs. It's more like bullying than the test really. At the very least, you should try MT-ing each line of the lyric separately, instead of copypasting it as a whole. Actually, even when you write the TL like this it's kinda hard to decipher. Okay, but I'm only gonna go into my lighter stuff. I would probably die if I dived into one of my more embarrassing moments. So yeah, I told my friend about this crush I had on a girl in our class. He was joking around saying I should tell her I love her, but I thought he was being serious. So, without having a lot of prior engagements, I go up to the girl and boldly declare my love for her. She's kinda the shy type, so her face explodes in a vibrant red color and is rendered speechless. Very shortly afterwards, she briskly walks off without saying anything back to me. depending on how good you´re in reading/understanding jap, you might want to try some novels from elf, or age, as they tend to be quite into psychological horror & stuff. edit: there´s also that one fucked up novel, which´s name i´ve forgotten & wont look up right now, the one pretty darn high rated & full of crazy stuff. ghosts & rape/gay/yuri whatoever else. shouldnt be hard to find on vndb, think the preview looked like some early 90s video game hope someone comes up with the name, though, cause its been a really nice read. mansion - bunch of boys & girls - ghosts (one is the mc´s sister) - mc´s father & stuff - rape/murder/sex regardless of gender - rape & whatever

hmm been awhile since i lastly played it, but as far as i remember they werent that long. regarding the afterstorys of the mainheroines, when you take away the h-scenes there isnt much left & the other ones are short/medium sized, lets say they feel like about 30-45% of the original ones, when you´re a fast reader & wont look everything up twice & more in the backlog . bit hard for me to express my thoughts on this, cause 15lines dont always feel like 15lines of another route, as mentioned above. if i like one chick & her story, then it takes me wayyyy longer reading through than otherwise (repeating her voices & sososos...) edit: but regardless of the actual length of evangile wh, i didnt get the feeling i´ve been ripped off my money by moonstone only for fanservices sake & the product as a whole felt more complete, as without it. edit2: normally i refrain from purchasing fandiscs in general, after some very negative experiences, especially because they are mostly not that much cheaper than the main game, leading to a fairly bad aftertaste. basically when considering in 90% of all fandiscs out there, you´re getting nothing but plotless chakalaka than the logical decision is to skip the fd part & go straight for the follow up hentai episode, which mostly fulfills the same deed, only better. edit3: & yes, there´re tons of vn based hentais out there - minimum plot & maximum kawaii

Awesome find the subs are abit off, but they express the gist of if. It's interesting to hear the thoughts of such a person when it comes to worldwide distribution (sigh, legal and moral walls indeed - wish I was american sometimes), and to point out ratings on sites like Vndb. Obviously some sales pitch going on, but I can sense the sincerity in his voice as well, I respect people like him.

That is assuming you're selling your own LNs through your own channels, but all these authors sell their books through publishers who need to make money too. It's basic economics 101. A company isn't going to sell you a book if that means they're not making a profit, the final price of the product has to be great enough to support the production costs AND generate a profit for the publisher who then pays the author. Unless you as an author are doing the whole process yourself, paying it out of your own pocket, you're not really in the position of judging how much the final book, printed or not, should cost. It doesn't matter if at the end of the day they're the same words in different formats, using different mediums has different costs. It's not that difficult to wrap your head around this.

I suppose this only works with translations, but quite frequently you might actually get quite a nice description of the intimacy between the two (or more) people and then they throw in the word 'c**t' or 'twat'. So hilariously out of place.

My all-time gavourite has got to be: "Iyaaaaa~ o-shiri na no niiii~ konna ni kimochi iiiiii~" TL: "Nooooo~ it feels so good even though it's my buttttttt~"

JAST said that they're working with J-List to automate the download code distribution process by the time Shiny Day releases. Right now I believe the download codes are sent out individually, by hand. In addition, since many of J-List's customer support people are based in Japan, their work day often doesn't coincide with JAST's game releases, adding further delays. ~~~ Just played through the prologue and the first floor of the initial dungeon. As promised, the prologue is pretty substantial--took me 1-2hrs on auto mode pausing for all the voices. Raidy 3 actually has a story. The setting gets some development, and characters other than Raidy and her trio of comrades have their own motives and place in the world. For a Raidy game, the development of the characters and setting was unexpected. The gameplay is... as expected, barebones dungeon crawling. Not much different from Raidy 2 in that respect. Fusing with the 3 heroines buffs Raidy's stats in different ways. The wolf girl gives Raidy high hit rate and evasion, but penalizes her defense. The demon girl gives Raidy high attack power and defense, at the expense of hit rate. The elf girl is balanced with medium attack power. Unfused Raidy is pretty weak with very low attack power (at least with her starting weapon), and she won't be able to deal with threats unless she outlevels them significantly. In the very first floor the demon girl is not very useful, as her hit rate is so low you'll have to attack 20 times or so to kill anything. There's no true "shop" in this game, at least at this point; instead you automatically trade random drops from enemies and are rewarded with various items. Until she hits level 3 Raidy is extremely weak, and she can be 1 or 2-hit by the strongest mob on the first floor, so you'll want to save often. Of note is that the H-scenes, both victory and defeat ones, vary significantly depending on who Raidy is fused with (they're not simple palette swaps with added lines or added characters). This adds some degree of replayability, as each boss encounter can lead to 8 unique H-scenes. It's worth mentioning that there's absolutely zero explanation what the various stats do in-game. DMG and DEF are fairly self-explanatory, but AP and PP are not. My guess is that AP affects hit rate and PP affects evasion rate. While I don't see any issues with the dialogue translation, small issues like this do mar the experience (it's not good when I feel like I need to hunt down Japanese screenshots to figure out what's going on with the system).

Does this happen when you run the game's .exe? If so it's probably because you're not using a NoDVD crack. This error is usually related to that. I'm pretty sure you can crack Majikoi S (and the rest of Minato Soft's stuff) with AlphaROMdie: http://azure.kdays.cn/onekeyunlock/alpharomdie-build20140214 Just run it and drag the game's .exe file into the alphaROM window and it'll create a shortcut inside the game folder that you can use to run the game.

I knew not to expect too much and yet somehow this is still disappointing. "Steam release official!" Glad to see their English is still top-notch.
