This thread used to be three separate threads dealing with A) the IPB 4 upgrade, B) our new theme, and C) Feedback. In a twist that surprised absolutely nobody, this attempt at being organized only fueled the madness and panic that users were feeling in the streets. I have extracted all the information, feedback, and bugs from this thread, and put it in a new one. Therefore: this thread is more or less a decayed corpse of rage and fear. You're welcome to read it and enjoy it, but all discussion on this topic should now go into the new thread. IPB 4 gives us a lot more control over aesthetics than IPB 3 did, so if you have design suggestions you can post them here as well. I'd especially like feedback about the text editor, themes, and overall changes. Note: IPB 4 queues a bunch of background processes during installation, so it's likely still combing through the forums updating the database. That means there WILL be "bugs" which will self-resolve after the combing ends. I decided to keep the forums closed to the public until most of those processes were complete, but a few are still running and may give you glitches. Please report them in this thread.

I'm in the middle of compiling all the errors, bugs, problems we've seen into a single thread. Once that's done, I'm going to compile the other threads I made into a single hellish vortex and banish it into the archive. tl;dr: I am getting your emails/PMs/posts, but I need a little time to surface and not drown. Working on it now.

I'd just like to mention how the way the new messaging system lists participants triggers muh OCD and is literally hitler.

Some other miscellaneous observations: Recent visitors on profile pages are limited to one, meaning it will always show you and no one else, making it an effectively useless feature. Profiles not defaulting to the About Me page will likely ensure that no one ever looks at that content ever again. Same with not prominently displaying their latest status. Not that this was a widely used feature before, but people aren't likely to look at stuff hidden behind extra mouse clicks more than once.

Has the "My Content" button ceased to be? Can we no longer see who "liked" a post? We got opinions to base on ethos here! Shall our avatars remain forever under the tyranny of circles? Apart from all that, looks swell! Of course, I attempt to subtract my inherent opposition to change from this opinion. EDIT: WHO LIKED THIS!?

Dear Fuwa, Due to the recent update there are certain bugs, strange new systems and features and missing content, most offensive of them all is the missing avatars from the chat. Now i'd like to take this moment in time out of my rioting, specifically looting Tay's underwear drawer and setting Zebhra on fire to tell you that we have been given a crucial responsibility; We must band together and blame Maefdomn for all our troubles and ensure that all blame falls on him for no reason. It's possible that I have already mentioned that I don't like these new and half new themes, now that could all be changed if there was a way to get them to cover a bit less of the screen width. But maybe this is my future:

Round avatars look.. modern. I kinda like it. I think they are a bit 2 Pi.

Let's all spare a moment to think of all of the Fuwans not yet a part of the community, the ones that will never know the Gravity Green theme. I feel it is them we should feel truly sorry for.

What does the "Disable my messenger" link do in the PM interface? It gives me a warning whenever I click it and I'm too afraid to go through with it. But if it disables that stupid sidebar, that would be a positive. edit: I clicked it. That was not a desirable result, don't do what I just did, kids. Now I don't know how to turn it back on. edit 2: Whew, found it, we're back to normal.

NOTIFICATIONS: The notifications are all screwed up. I'm out of my depth with them, so hopefully Nay can help me figure it out this weekend. AVATARS: Removed the rounding, but I can't figure out why the avatar rules are so weird OR where to change them in the ACP. It may be because my brain is tired. Or maybe it's just stuck in a strange spot.

I like the old avatar system (with flexibility of sizes), but I can't figure out what's causing our current limits. I'll need Nay's help. (Or, just as likely, my brain is just tired)

Hey, I have a few bugs, questions, and complaints. Don't mind me if all of this stuff has already been brought up. 1. There is no space between "Location" and the user's location. Happens on all themes. 2. I miss having long, rectangle avatars 3. I'm not sure how to add an image to my profile, like backers could do before. 4. Is there no longer an option to preview posts before posting? 5. Does the user receive a notification when they are tagged with @?

Topics are being bumped into the recent topics box whenever you post in them. (Just tested with the Nisekoi thread). Hopefully you find a fix for this, otherwise expect chaos. Edit: Can't un-check the "show edit by" option anymore

As I’ve said before, Giga is at its best when it is doing the Baldr series. Why? Because their high production values really shine in a more serious setting, as it gives so many more tools for presentation. That’s not all… for some reason, in my experience Giga seems to be incapable of making a non-Baldr gem. Their stuff is inevitably visually beautiful and has great sound… but in exchange, the stories tend to be deeply flawed or poorly paced compared to other companies with less money power. This VN is no exception. I’ll be honest… this VN hit several of my major pet peeves from the very beginning. For one thing, they let you name the protagonist… and despite the immense amount of money the studio possesses, they didn’t even have the default name voiced by the heroines, which seems a waste. As such, this pissed me off from the very beginning. Making it worse is that the early VN is too openly a koukan-do type choice system, where you have to say what the heroines want to hear. This gets old fast, as it actually makes sounds and has a visual effect, which ironically gives me the ‘businesslike’ feeling I prefer to avoid in VNs. The heroine routes… are not something worthy of writing home about. I’ll be honest, I probably would have rated this game a bit higher if it weren’t for the first part of the game… but the heroine routes just don’t have much depth. It is like one long avalanche of ichaicha and H-scenes, making the game as a whole feel even more ‘businesslike’ to me, after the baptism of fire that was the common route. Making it worse is that there is no real depth to the heroines, which kind of defeats the point of having individual routes, as the protagonist is a non-entity self-insert ragdoll. Overall, this VN is a really flashy plaster covering over a lot of mediocre content. I was actually surprised at how bad this VN is, as Giga usually manages to do a little better (albeit not a great deal more so) than this with its non-Baldr games.

In the first instance it means "relax" (lit. "let your strength go" or smth) (the subject is her, not him). In the second instance it means "I give up" or something like that (check 力抜け, it means something like "being discouraged")
