Small amount of blood would be covered by mosaic-censorship, so they need much more than that. And so on. @Virgin heroines I don't mind either way, as long as the entire character is written sensibly. When a girl, who was supposed to have zero experience, suddenly acts like a professional pornstar during her first time, then it's annoying. Like all scenes that break the characterization really - it's just bad writing. Sadly, it's quite common. I don't get it - it only shatters the cuteness, that's one of the main charms of innocent virgins. Such cases aside, virgins are perfectly fine. They are great in darker titles, because it makes all those horrible rape/NTR/whatever scenes that happen to them much more powerful. They are also okay in vanilla - it just makes everything cuter (as long as it's at least somewhat plausible and they don't act like super-experienced sluts I mentioned earlier). From the vanilla ones, I remember that Ef handled it very well. Quartett also had some interesting themes. Main heroine's route from Dark Blue was also great (well, that VN was quite good in general). If we forget about gruesome murders and all that darker plot for a moment and focused only on the triangle between the protagonist, his childhood friend and love interest Otoha and his good friend Reiya (who's also supposed to be Otoha's fiancé, but nothing is set in stone). We get a very plausible romance story, where bonds between childhood friends are strong, but not unbreakable, and a fair rivalry between the protagonist and his friend (who doesn't necessarily seem like a typical NTR-villain) can go either way depending on protagonist's actions (or inaction). Of course, the main plot distorts everything a little bit, but with small modifications, this love triangle would work perfectly in normal slice-of-life/romance titles. Actually, I'd love to see a title like this, where the protagonist isn't the only male character who can win heroines. No rape, NTR and stuff - just an option for other heroines to hook up with different guys when the protagonist get a girlfriend (instead of disappearing or being forever alone, like in typical moeges). Or a story featuring a breaking up with one girl, getting over it, and finding someone else (possibly after some relationship issues as well). To sum things up, virgins definitely have their place in VNs. But non-virgin heroines (or girls who lose virginity with someone else) could give material for very original stories - they should appear outside of the NTR genre more often.

I've always been curious about this, but haven't ever actually brought it up to anyone. Ever since I was a kid, I've always liked Japanese music just as much, if not more (in some cases) than English music. I think it really started with FMA's second opening, "Ready Steady Go". I mean, I liked other songs before that, but I think that's where I really started to get into it. Maybe it's because it's another language, and that in and of itself was fascinating to me as a kid, and it just stuck with me all these years? Or would it be weird to say that I can still feel the emotions put into the songs, despite not understanding what they are actually saying? It's really making me want to learn the language, and I think it would be the biggest source of my motivation, even more so than VN's. I think being able to understand a whole 'nother cultures massive library of music would be more amazing than anything I could ever read or watch.

Not really... the Japanese language is just prettier than English. Even now that I understand Japanese without having to think about it, I still think it is pretty. English just sounds uglier, though it is more utilitarian in some ways. Also, their music tends to be more likely to be designed to stimulate a wider variety of softer emotions, versus the fact that a lot of modern non-indie music in the US tends to be... harsher.

And not a single one had the audacity to tell you. I'm not always observant enough to notice that kind of thing, but when I do, I don't keep it to myself. One time when I was in high school, I noticed a girl walking around with the back of her skirt up. While everyone else was looking away, laughing, or being creepy about it, I brought it upon myself to point it out. This morning, I woke up as usual to prepare for work. I brushed my teeth, showered and then made breakfast. As I ate, I noticed the microwave said 11:58pm. What the, not even midnight yet? For a second, I actually freaked out and thought I might have time traveled. I have a water proof clock in the bathroom, and when I was inside, I swore the time was 11:35pm. Then, I realized I was so drowsy that I must have just saw x:35, because I had assumed it was 5am, which was my usual waking time for work. The double face palm is real! Confession-that's-not-really-a-confession-and-more-like-a-random-fact-about-me: I hate having my eyes messed with, especially when there's something in one of them I can't get out.

Around where I live, the public school system sucks ass. My brother actually had a girlfriend who was going into teaching and was a student teacher. She taught 3rd graders and liked it, but when she got moved to 7th grade, she said it was torture. She said that all the kids starting puberty caused the entire experience to make her not want to teach middle school anymore. Really it depends on where you live and how well funded your school system is. The neighborhood I live in has a 77% highschool graduation rate for public school, and anybody who actually cares about their kids sends them to private school. I was in that school system until 6th grade, where my mom pulled me test into a different school where I skipped two grades straight into 9th in a private school in a different state. The public school system actually told her that in order for them to help me, I had to fail, and not get 100%s on everything. TL;DR: be more sensible, sure he may enjoy the subject, but the other factors can be quite lethal. Teaching may always be in demand, but there is a reason it's always in demand.

When all the characters say during sex is んんんんんんんんんんんんん (nnnnnnnnnnn) it's sort of hard to write something decent as a replacement, which is usually what leads to stuff like "hnnngh" to appear. I always struggled because I sought variety yet usually ended up with nnnh and hnnn. I thought about swapping it for the more typical "mmm" that exists in Western porn, but in Japanese it's clearly not that sort of muffled moaning, so in the end I just said "ah fuck it, it's not like the audience is reading it". You can always just imagine that 2D japanese penises cause heart attacks. They can already do a lot of inhuman things so it would just be another one to add to the list.

Confession: My brother is watching Fruits Basket. I got kept up for about two hours because ever time I got even close to sleep that fucking god awful "Yuki! Yuki! We love Yuki!" scene fucking played and made me cringe. Did I mention he is watching it in English so all the fucking screeching noises that the VA's do hurt your ears like hell and make them bleed because of the high pitch? Confession 2: I want to murder the people who decided to make that show right now.

H-scenes are a major pain in the ass to translate and it really often just boils down to what you personally feel conveys the idea better. There's no one sole correct way of doing it, but I think you should always take in consideration the context the h-scene is set in and also the type of familiarity between the characters as well as their verbal preferences. By that I mean don't make a girl say "dick" when she's just saying like あそこ, for example. As you've probably come across by now, descriptions in h-scenes often have more than 1 distinct thought/action in the original script. This works fine in Japanese, but is really awkward in English. I personally value a good sentence structure more than anything, so I often see myself altering a lot of the Japanese during the h-scenes because it would be really awkward to translate things literally. My prioriy is typically to word the actions the characters are performing in a linear line of thought, rather than separate thoughts. As for all the sound effects, Darbury made a pretty nice blog post about that which I think basically covers everything you should know. What I personally learned when translating h-scenes is that the best thing you can do most of the time is just forget about the original Japanese sentence and try to form an idea in your mind about the actions that were described, that way you can more concisely transport them into your translation rather than try to literally translate each single action individually and then finding yourself at a loss on how to connect stuff. The original japanese script for h-scenes can cloud your normal translation methods. This is normal. Just don't let it haunt you and understand that translation is always a lossy process, so you shouldn't get too fixated with being as literal as possible. I still have all the scripts from Lilium x Triangle which I translated and Ryechu edited. I'm not sure how well it compares to other people's h-scene translations but, if you'd like, I wouldn't mind sharing a copy of it with you. Just PM me if you're interested.

A pretty accurate review of fallout 4 http://www.rpgamer.com/games/fallout/fallout4/reviews/fallout4strev1.html The interface is horrendous, for consoles maybe it's ok but for pc is not. The optimization is really poor specially for how it looks, SOMA looks 1000 better and doesn't require half of the pc. I can't get over the controls and interface specially when you have to pick a dialogue choice and is really clunky and you can only use the keyboard arrows WTF if you don't want to use the mouse, why not asdw, if I'm using one hand with the mouse and the other one to move the character how am I support to use the arrow keys then? who designed that And when you have to build...oh boy it's just a chore to navigate through the items Finally the loading times...

Almost done with narcissu 3rd, sadly it is not what i was expecting. There is a lot of combat and pretty much nothing else, the reading difficulty is really high because like I said is just combat combat and combat (with a lot of medieval vocabulary) when the main character Iris is not fighting she is training or thinking the same way setsumi did on narcissu... but the thing is they are not in the same situation so it's hard to feel empathy for her like I did with setsumi also as the setting is fantasy I just don't care There is a lot of dialogues (at least compared to the nar 1 and 2) but not voice acting most of the time and no names either, in narcissu 1 and 2 was ok because there was just 2 characters talking most of the time but here is not the same you have a whole cast of people and it often changes who is narrating the story so it's really convoluted and hard to follow. the other stories are...not very narcissu-like I get that he was probably trying to do something new and not more of the same but that's exactly why it failed. I don't think is bad but is not narcissu even if it looks like it in the end it is not.

I'm pretty indifferent to it, couldn't really care less. It makes sense for a good chunk of VN's because they take place in high school and the characters are still young. When heroines are older though it makes sense for them not to all be virgins at that point, though it's not completely impossible. Yea, for anal I'm really glad that they don't step up on that realism thing.
