  5. http://reviews.fuwanovel.net/2015/12/04/euphoria/ Euphoria, sometimes brutal, sometimes disgusting, sometimes intriguing and suspenseful. What a weird game. Steel your stomach and be open minded when approaching this one. I'm curious what you all thought of the review, it's the first one I've ever written.

NPTH is a modification of the (best) PC98 emulator Neko Project (NP) with the added feature of being hookable by every text hooker (TH). If you're interested in reading more PC98 games or other old school eroge, I recommend to look into the official PC98 threads on vndb where some people including me talk about setting up and hooking old eroge. ^^ Essential knowledge for old school eroge reader like NPTH is mentioned there in detail. ^^

  9. When you adapt something, you do so for the sake of the audience of the format you're adapting into, not the audience of the format you're adapting it from. If they're adapting this into an anime, they need to take into account anime fans and anime guidelines. You can't expect an anime to be well made if the contigent for it being understood is to have played the games. The first anime was average, yes, but it had a main storyline, so you'd expect a sequel to at last do the bare minimum and follow that storyline properly, not skip over important elements. I'm not saying they can't cater to game fans, they obviously can and should to maximize the potential, but if the narrative is destroyed because you skipped one entire arc and only game fans will understand what happened, that pretty much defeats the purpose of an anime. You're better off making OVAs bundled with the game if you want to cater to game fans, but if you annouce an anime, you better be sure it'll be judged by anime standards.

  10. Confession: In a few short hours, I'll be buying a house. It's by far the most stressful thing I've ever done in my life. I always see these articles wondering why more Millennials aren't buying houses. Spoiler: This is why. It's awful. It's terrifying. It's like reading euphoria in Smell-o-vision™. It's also insanely expensive, especially here around NYC. Right now in my bag, I have several bank checks large enough to have their own small moons orbiting them. And you know what? Those checks aren't even for the house; they're to cover closing and legal costs. In short, why is it that drinking before noon is so frowned upon?

  11. Kyou's route was actually pretty long, as I recall, it's just that you see a lot of Ryou in it, for obvious reasons; maybe you're just viewing a bunch of the stuff that's part of the route as "common route" or something? At any rate, once the big romance conflict is resolved, telling other stories about the clean-up explanation afterwards would just drag out the ending and make it even less interesting. Kyou's is certainly the weakest of the full-length routes in Clannad, from what I can tell, but I at least don't think it's bad, per se. Calling it "garbage tier", asserting the writing is worse than some random nukige, and using some other hyperbole when calling out the route length, makes it seem like first you over-hyped for it, and now you're just dead set against enjoying it. You'll probably be happier if you just go read something else. Regarding Yukine's ending: I actually really enjoyed it. Certainly it was extremely short, and it was light on drama and CGs, but I was genuinely moved by the big monologue scene; that was enough for me. Currently reading Tomoyo's route... man it's long. I'm kind of hoping to get through this quickly and get to After Story, but I still have so much left to go of the first set of routes.

  12. I can empathize; I bought a condo years back. Closing was not a pleasant experience, although honestly I found the looking around more stressful than the actual closing. It's also expensive as hell here in Seattle... The best news is, selling your new home will be even more stressful than buying it was! After 4.5 years in my condo, suffering through a mostly clueless HOA that refused to hire a management company, and stressing out personally over the state of my unit and the building itself, I was done with home ownership. I've been happily renting a very nice apartment in a downtown high-rise ever since. Not sure what move I'll make if/when marriage and kids come around, but for the time being, this is the right call for my sanity.

  14. Top fuwareview comment of the year. In my case, I already knew I hated them, but they don't seem too exaggerated in euphoria even if you don't disable them. Also I will continue to pluralize that word with an "s" just to spite OriginalRen. Ahegaos.

  15. My guess is that it will be a squeal to Danganronpa 1 and not really mention anything about Danganronpa 2 and that they titled it 3 only to avoid it getting mixed with existing Danganronpa 2 VN. No, DR3 is DIRECTLY related to Danganronpa and Danganronpa 2, so I am sure it'll focus on both games. It's the conclusion of most if not all plot threads about Hope's Peak, which means it HAS to focus on Danganronpa 2's cast. If that really is how things are then it is pretty stupid as people who only watched anime or/and didn't play Danganronpa 2 would be fu*ked. That's a pretty stupid thing to say, should story progression between installments be hurt because newcomers would be left out? I could sort of understand that if we were talking about old games here, but both Danganronpa games are available for purchase on a current system (Vita). Danganronpa's fanbase isn't for the anime, it's for the game. The anime is thought to be a shitty adaptation and nothing more. Any sequel to two incredibly story heavy games shouldn't be viewed/played without playing the games first. Big shocker. Could you please explain to me what exactly is wrong with anime adaption for you to call it "shitty adaptation and nothing more". I both played Danganronpa game and watched Anime and I would say that not only is anime not a bad adaption at all but that it is actually better then game as mini game during trials ruin most of it's tension as a story and I liked how anime done it a lot better, anime adaption also doesn't luck any of the important events, in fact the only events I could remember being present in game and not in an anime is a bath scene and some info about characters reviled by gameplay system of presents and things. Making an Anime only sequel to a Game only story is a pretty stupid thing to do as you are limiting people who can enjoy in it to only people who are into both, crossing from media like that is just not a smart thing to do no meter how you look at it, especially since one installment before that exists as both game and anime, and you could easily adopt second game to anime too before making a sequel. If Anime really was just an shitty adaption only for game fans that would be a different thing but that is not a case at all. If First anime didn't exist I could also somehow understand it, but like this it just makes no sense. The only legit reason to do something like this would be if story from Danganronpa 2 isn't actually that important for that sequel and you can understand things without knowing it.

Yup, smack dab in the burbs. We considered buying in the city, but it's pretty much impossible to get anything in a good neighborhood these days unless you're a Russian/Chinese millionaire. We, as it turns out, are not.

  19. Umineko. Even though it personally isn't a 10/10 for me, it's the best VN I've read in terms of accomplishing what it tried to do. It's honestly close to perfect in that regard. Haven't read F/SN yet myself. A bit too daunting for me right now. Muv Luv Alternative is a 7/10 game. It has great moments, yes, but overall it isn't all that impressive. IMHO it does not deserve very high a place in the hallmark of VN's.

  20. Baldr Sky is so good that it's worth learning Japanese for it. It's like Gundam combined with Armored Core and Muv Luv. It also has amazing gameplay to the point that you will wonder if this is a VN or an action RPG. Heck, you probably can just use a walkthrough and play it for its RPG aspects and still not get bored. Also one of its fandisc, DiveX is quite lengthy and also has decent side stories and has several cameo characters including Mayucchi from Majikoi, Murasama (Nitro+), and Shizuka from Scarlett. Oh and Kadokura Kou is one of the most bad ass protagonists I've ever seen that he earned a husbando place in my sig.

  21. https://www.epicgames.com/shadowcomplex/ Seriously, what the hell? Where did this come from? Shadow Complex released a good six years ago to critical acclaim. It was one of the first commercial western takes on the Metroid formula, and is one of the truest Metroid-style games out there, in my opinion, having a large and seamless map to explore with a crap ton of secrets and powerups to find. In short, it's really good. And those of you that missed it the first time around owe it to yourselves to try the new version. Because it's freaking free! And this is after years of most fans being convinced a PC version would never happen. This is pretty fantastic news. Play this game. edit: It's only going to be free for a month so get it while you can.

  24. I'm not really kidding when I say there isn't a Ryou end, there's just a bad end on the Kyou route. She actually is a better character in the Kappei route than she is in Kyou's route - which is a little disappointing, because there was certainly potential there. And the Clannad After-Story is one route - the True Route, so to speak. Don't look for anything else for any of the other girls.

-Who would skip such thoughtful dialogue like this?: Jokes aside, the scenes give a bit of insight on the MC's twisted personality, and for some scenes it also shows a different side to the girls -Not really, in a sense the game is about twisted "love". -It's arguable. Trust me, I'm not a fan of some of the content in this game yet even I've found myself enjoying it. Besides, if stuff like guro or scat disgust you, you can always turn that stuff off in the Options menu.

  28. Looks fun, but i'm going pass. I don't feel like making a new account, downloading a whole separate game client, and downloading a bunch of other stuff just to play it. I don't know why they couldn't just put it on steam, or as a standalone game without the client.
