I don't know if we have this thread for this or not. But anyways I will make one nonetheless. I have heard about kancolle, everyone has heard about kancolle. The game with cute ships fighting the abyssal ships. If you haven't stumbled upon one of its doujins then you don't really read doujins. Anyways I didn't know how to play this game and thought it would be a pain , until my lord and savior @Monmon told me about KCV. I then started playing the game. The game is really fun and entertaining. It piqued my interest about some ships and their quotes and what that referenced. For instance, when the ships sank, they usually say something that references how they sank irl. Also the history about ships in general isn't as boring as I thought it would be. I also wouldn't have been able to get this far without my other lord and savior @Tenkuru Now not all of us would be interested in that. About the gameplay? There's currently not that much gameplay, you sortie your ships, they wreck people, you resupply them and repair the damaged ones and do it again. There's the pvp system which I still don't understand really much but it gives tons of exp so who cares. There's the most awesome thing about the game , expeditions, which you get by unlocking your 2nd fleet. It's one of the more fun parts of the game, do you hate to afk? You don't have enough resources to sortie? Fear not, expeditions shall help you. There are 4 resources atm which are steel , fuel , ammo and bauxite. Bauxite regenerates more slowly than other resources per day as you get 1500 of other resources while you only get about 500 (?) bauxite. So expeditions are important for that. Thou only carriers that use planes will be the problem as they are the only reason why you would need bauxite. Now where's the second most fun thing about the game? LSC LSC LSC LSC LSC LSC ALSO KNOWN AS LARGE SHIP CONSTRUCTION. There are some ships which you can only get from LSC which you unlock later on in the game with quests, these ships can't be get by any other means. You have really strong and cool battleships like Musashi and Yamato, you have the armooooooooooored carrier Taihou and the german Bismarck and more. You can't get these ships by any means other than LSC. Speaking of which I got Yamato yesterday and this was my 4th LSC, I am really happy ;-; , I AM REALLY HAPPY, I CAN'T CONTAIN MY HAPPINESS. Ahem back to the mehanix of the game, there are certain things which you will encounter and have problem with as you play like submarines that can only be damaged by CLs and CLTs and DDs , you will find the CVs which will always crit. hit your ships unless you have CVs of your own. Planes too op. If you need any help with the game, tell me or just say it here in the thread. OH I FORGOT : HOW TO PLAY THIS GAME? There are many ways to do that. I know of using vpn, KCV (you don't need anything with KCV : KanColle Viewer, it's one of the best things ever, I can't say how good this one is ) and editing you own cookies. Which brings me to kancolle wiki which will explain to you literally everything you need but I will still be lazy and go and ask my friends about it. Just remember to play the game for fun and enjoy your waifus: "Waifus > Stats" and remember that Haruna is best girl. I have only seen one VN that was kinda like this - https://vndb.org/v14922. But unlike most traps, who seem to be cross-dressing just for comedic and/or fetish reasons, Toboso was written much more seriously (as much as surreal guro VN allowed), and was actually suffering from sexual identity disorder with all the related drama (and not only that). But this VN probably shouldn't count, because (moderate spoiler): For a more typical VN with one trap "heroine", I will definitely read https://vndb.org/v9175 someday. I dislike "fake-yuri" VNs - those that have a typical Yuri setup, except with a cross-dressing guy as a protagonist (like Otoboku). That's just a blasphemy. Otherwise, I don't mind trap protagonists, or traps in general. They are neutral to me (though maybe I'd classify trap x trap stuff as "somewhat interesting"). As for reverse-traps - I don't like them. Outside of H-scenes they look and act like dudes, so with male protagonist, their routes kinda have gay-vibes most of the time, and with female protagonist - they reduce the overall "yuriness". Reverse-trap as a protagonist (https://vndb.org/v6680) seems like an interesting idea though.

I wouldn't mind traps. Traps are great. They're look like girls, but aren't. You can't tell whether they're really girls or men. There's a certain wonder and attractiveness to them that makes them as nice as real girls.

I can pretty much say the same thing to 95% of all the vns out there. i didnt read 95% of translated vns so i didnt know however i encounter this at most 5 vns (have read 50 vns) need to read more. Not just translated. A good 90% of VNs have a romance theme anyway, so I expect the "meet and fuck" kind of setting for most of them. Also the current vn market swarmed with all this moege trash. I got nothing against moege, just the devs who just spam the market with these low quality moeges to make a quick buck (moeges are easier to sell than let's say yuri or NTR vns) and not make vns with decent story anymore.

I thought it was NG+ only, under the name of "Safety" I haven't started a fresh save in a while, but I do think that you can choose any difficulty, the difference is that in NG+ you can change it in any point in the game plus mix up the settings, for example you could have a very hard setting with the money and exp bonus from very easy.

How about something like Rewrite or Ever17? They have somewhat light-hearted and fun common routes and then all the action and drama start happening and it blows you away. That said, they are long very long and time consuming so it is a big commitment if you are going to be playing through these games. But if you can persevere through all the slice of life, then you are rewarded for all your troubles.

Sorry I haven’t been posting in here with updates! We have been working on fixing some things, re-organizing our departments, and trying to fight the never-ending barrage of schoolwork. Some updates about our progress: Sprites First off we’d like to announce that our sprites are getting a complete overhaul courtesy of our new sprite artist, darkenmarr! Don’t fret though, just because they’re getting some new looks, their overall design will stay the same. Here’s a little preview of Gwyn and Connor (minus his eyepatch) sketches. Gwyn Connor (another employee at the Looking Glass Cafe) We plan to update the sprites on here one by one as soon as they are completed. Until we get all the sprites remade in darkenmarr’s style, the asks we do on the tumblr will still be using our old sprites for the sake of continuity. Other Art So far, we have 21 background pieces finished with our BG artists currently working on another three backgrounds at the moment. We have all the backgrounds for our demo and most of the backgrounds for the first main story. Lordless' on the left and Furude's on the right Because our original GUI concepts shared some similarities with another game that was released, Justin and I are re-sketching our GUI design. We hope to show a mock of this very soon. Writing Writing wise, we have one main story completed and another that only needs choice commands and sprite changing notes. We believe that this story is about 90% completed. Justin is currently writing Gwyn’s epilogue while I’m fixing Rory’s main story as I found some issues in the plot.
