Varela. Do not let yourself be fooled. XCOM 2 is slightly different than the XCOM games setting-wise. It just assumes you lost the war, which is probably right, to be honest. It betters the original XCOM remake in just about every way except it times some missions (some people hate that). Nothing mods can't fix. In other news, today's episode is out. Interesting, although the shrine was different from Higurashi shrine though (By the way, in both of the games, the shrine was the place when the story advance). In any case, guess any people who come to Shirakawa and did something bad there could choose how they would be cursed lol (Either by having your stomach filled by creepy baby like clay doll or having you scratch your neck until it's bleeding. Although both of them was terrible of course).

Still playing Iris and... I'm pretty sure this game has the most adorable character art of any VN I've played up to now, and I might have a hard time finding cuter art after this. I mean Symphonic Rain had some cute character designs, and I've played a few others with cute characters but... not like this. I said it reminds me a lot of Kage Donbo's style but even hers seems a little too simple compared to this. The characters have a lot of personality to them so they're not as simple as Kage Donbo, but the faces and just the cute way they look is similar. It helps that they all have really cute personalities too, and their outfits and expressions really help as well. I don't think I'd notice their cuteness quite as much if they weren't so animated. I wish Kid had gotten more popular so they could have remade this game with whatever that stuff they did for To Heart 2 is where the characters look fully animated. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm28775 There's the OP for more of an idea how cute these girls are. Fact of the matter is, maef, there is that forums don't work by being all super serious. I was here from pretty early on, and so was Down. When the more strict moderation as going on, there would be days before anything new on the forums would appear. And what did appear was a forum game like "Name the anime" or whatever. It was stuff unrelated to VNs. Naturally as a forum grows, so does the noise it makes. If you want meaningful, thoughtful content, create it. Your last VN thread was back in February 2014. Two years ago. Now you've created other, anime-ish discussion threads, but I don't really take well to seeing someone complain about the lack of meaningful discussion, and plethora of spam, while they don't actually take the initiative and create it themselves. In fact, all you really do here is complain about Fuwanovel, and bemoan the fact that some people dislike Clannad. You complain that other people try to pass off their opnion as fact, and you yourself literally just did the same exact thing. So quit being a little whiney bitch and if you don't like the way Fuwanovel is going, leave. I'm honestly sick and tired of you passing off your diarrhea of posts as constructive criticisms. At least sanahtlig actually contributes in a meaningful way instead of bitching all the time.

The very purpose of the CoC is to contain all the shitpost, clickbait, jokes etc you guys are complaining about. If you think these things don't belong on this site, then what you want is not better moderation, it's a change of the site itself and its current rules. As far as I'm concerned, moderation deals with some of the specific rules of the site that need to be enforced (nsfw, loli policy, illegal links), and hate speech, which will be harshly treated. The rest is almost cosmetic: moving, merging, splitting to clean up threads, once in a while try to calm down spamming and derailing if it really gets too far, but I'd rather stay very liberal on those because I don't want to treat forum posters as kids (even though they often act as they are) and I don't believe "repressive" moderating is needed nor efficient in those cases.

I've picked up and put down Shinsekai Yori twice now, the last time at about 10 episodes through. Like you said, the production values and the execution are excellent, and that's why I go back to it (and still want to go back to it again and finish, or at least make some progress), but the dark tone makes me have a lot of trouble keeping with it. I get easily distracted by anything a little bit brighter - clearly my mind's way of telling me that it doesn't want to be watching the show. I agree with pretty much everything you said.

In response to this thread: where people were raving about Shinsekai Yori, I felt obliged to watch this through. I can see why people were raving about it since the production quality and execution is very good. However I think there's a tendency to overrate shows (in my opinion) that are dark, horrific, nasty, unpleasant, shocking, disturbing... etc. but that just doesn't resonate with me. This show started out dark and just remained dark throughout the whole thing. There wasn't much in the way of emotional journey besides remaining dark from start to end and, I hate to say it, but it was mostly predictable, right up to the conclusion, even if the writing and execution was very good 8/10. Still rates well overall though, but not in my top 5. I certainly wouldn't want to sit through it again.

Oh I do indeed have it, the town that Hibarigasaki got inspired from is called 小樽 - Otaru Its few km from Sapporo in Hokkaido. I did find the places on google street view, just like I did with the Iroseka background recently but about a year ago when I checked again, they updated the street view and lot has changed there. But I need to finish that game first I took screenshot of one of the backgrounds from prologue:
