  1. Lotta people not understanding the concept of bingo itt. Although this chart is a little too easy, imo. Real predictions: A Rance title will be announced, and not Evenicle. Chuablesoft is an easy layup, they'll be one of MangaGamer's new partners. A new clock up title will also almost assuredly be announced there. Possibly Maggot Baits, I think Ero Manga might actually be a little bit more likely. And they'll announce either a new BL or a new Otome title. JAST will announce either Muramasa, or something on the same scale. I don't have any insight into any specific announcements here, but I am told that all three big publishers are basically swinging for the fences here, and a Muramasa announcement would be relatively safe and easy for JAST to do. I also expect a new Alcot game announcement, but I'm less sure about that. I really don't expect more than two announcements from them. SP is always a total unknown. One thing to expect is a lot of actual 18+ announcements. They keep saying "Wait for AX" whenever anyone asks them about anything to do with 18+ stuff, including Maitetsu. And Dovac was talking about how he's happy that AX staff lets them talk openly about and show previews for 18+ stuff. Wild guess: SP will announce an August translation, possibly Daito before Eustia. The editor for the fan translation posted two or three months ago that the project was actually revived with the original translator back on board, and that they were working on the true route or something to that effect. Then we've heard nothing since. I wouldn't be surprised if that was picked up.

  2. Not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but you might actually want to wait before Rakuen is translated as well before you read the grand route. The grand route continues the main plot in the series - but it also has probably the worst cliffhanger in existence. It's just setup with no payoff; unless you have some amazing patience, I would recommend waiting for Rakuen too to save yourself from the suffering. That said Meikyuu also has afterstories for every single route in Kajitsu, and these at least don't attempt to murder you with an unfinished story.

  5. I'm so fucking happy that Subaru has got what he deserved. He had been acting these past couple of episodes like a classic conceited, self-centred main character of a fantasy novel, and he's been punished by it, in a way that common sense cannot deny. I'm really happy that Re:Zero went the full mile and smacked the shit out of him, instead of going with a "Subaru, I'm so so angry~~~~~~" and then they make up in the same scene. He doesn't even understand that he cannot act like he's some sort of chosen one, doing whatever he feels like, and expect everyone to smirk and go "oh, you~" This episode has made Re:Zero land a solid 9/10, for now.

  7. As for Arkamondal question, let me answer it. Since OP here mentioned Aurica and Falss, then the game that OP mean would be Ar Tonelico - Melody of Elemia. Maybe Arkamondal here already knew, but I'd like to answer because I remember that I played this game on PS2 several years ago. As for save file, sorry couldn't help here.

  8. I have finished the main engine for the game that will allow me to write the game as a script. I have decided to use the full screen instead of a screen within a screen like I previously thought I would do. I find a full screen image more immersive. I have started work on the beginning of the game. I will make a version available within a few weeks (I hope) that will allow you to see how the game will look and play. It will be very short but I want to get feedback as soon as possible so the game can evolve in a good direction while I work on it. Here is an image of one of the first scenes: Website

  9. I have a copy of Hadaka Shitsuji with an english patch and the game works fine, but I am struggling to read the text in the dialogue boxes because the spacing of characters is really far apart making it hard to tell when there is a space between words. I was wondering if there is a way for me to change the formatting of the dialogue boxes to make it easier to read (maybe but adjusting the kerning or even the font) EDIT: I fixed it myself.. ended up finding a different patch, found it on aarinfantasy. http://aarinfantasy.com/forum/f16/t171140-hadaka-shitsuji-english-patch.html

    Higurashi voice patch?

I'd recommend to just use the option "download through your browser" in MEGA then it works like any other download.

    need a bit of advice.

They're actually required to throw it out and not read it. There have been massive legal problems, with people sending in scripts, then a movie maybe resembling the script coming out, and then the studio getting sued by the person who sent the script in, saying that they stole it. So no producer or movie maker in Hollywood will even look at your script, because it creates a liable mess, just by reading it. You'll get responses like this: http://imgur.com/a/2UPSs

  13. I'm unsure whether this will be helpful or not but I'd like to give my perspective on temporary bans as I'm a moderator on a very busy forum with over 50x the traffic of this one and a hell of a lot more mods than here. In short, a lot of people aren't intrinsically trolls and they fuck up and get carried away without knowing they're doing so until they get a temporary ban. This is usually 2 out of 3 people that we hand out bans to. Those people come back and basically never infringe upon the forum rules ever again and tread much more carefully. The rest, however, are just trolls and there's a variable length of time between them getting their first temporary ban and their final permanent ban. Basically the rate at which they graduate from one place to the next depends on their intrinsic troll nature. Some troll as soon as they return while most are calm for a while before losing it and falling back into their old habits. In short, the temporary bans make a massive difference to the overall signal to noise ratio on the forum and are a much more obvious flag to the unwitting perpetrators that they've overstepped the mark. Whether the balance is different on this forum or not I cannot tell but no doubt the same rules apply to some degree or other. Deleting/hiding posts tends to actually aggravate the latter group much faster and brings them to ban-worthy status quicker rather than teaching them they've overstepped the mark while the former group are less likely to elevate to ban status. Both bans and deletions are necessary evil components of maintaining the delicate balance between free(ish) speech and worthwhile contributions. One thing I am unsure of is whether members on this forum get notification if their posts are deleted/hidden/moved and the reasoning behind it. That often helps the member declare whether they're going to be a repeat offender or learn from their mistakes before needing a ban. Note I'm not passing judgement about the details of this argument, moderation accuracy or anyone's behaviour in particular that was discussed in this thread but simply pointing out what we've observed on another forum.

    need a bit of advice.

I think sending your work to a big company, especially the Japanese ones would be like writing a movie script and send it to somebody in Hollywood thinking it will be the next big movie. Odds are that lots of loons does that and even if your script is good, it will drown in the stack nobody wants to read. Another important reason to not just send it is for all you know, they publish it like they did it themselves and then you could sue, but you have to proof that despite no releases or anything that you made it and they didn't even though they release VNs all the time. Tricky case to win is an understatement if you didn't do anything to protect your work. Sadly it happens from time to time with books and book publishers. I'm not actually sure what to do to protect yourself, but just sending the entire text without getting them to sign anything first is not the way to do it if you plan on getting money out of it. If your script is simple, you might be able to learn how to program it yourself. If you just use a simple subset of commands, like display text/dialogue, display choices and jump based on choice, then you can actually get quite far. If you add a placeholder png file for each background/sprite, then you could also insert those. Add bgm controls (possibly with placeholders as well) and you have a VN without the need for a programmer. Example of what it takes to start making a simple VN (from Ren'Py's quickstart guide) If you do it yourself, you should consider the engine carefully. It should be as easy to code as this example (if you do it yourself) and you should like how it will display the VN when you use it.

  16. I picked up VA-11 Hall-A earlier today and played through the first day so far. The prologue grabbed my attention right away, and the game is fun and engaging. There's gameplay elements, yes, but ultimately the game is basically just about reading character dialogue, so as Turnip said, it's enough of a VN for me. And I'm quite pleased to say that the writing does not suck, which is crucial given that the game is, well, pretty much just dialogue. The gorgeous pixel art and excellent soundtrack sure as hell aren't hurting my impression of the game, either.

  17. RLVM, Anise, ViLE (already gave you link in previous messages), ONScripter (nScripter seems was open-source from beginning, but it is sort of evolution for modern machines). Probably I know more, just cannot remember right now. Another thing is that some VNs have plain text script (like Doddler remakes he made for MG or like C's Ware Eve Burst Error PC-98 Windows version), sort of what I made for Divi-Dead. /btw you can just press "Like this" button for each message was useful, you know.

  18. I am simultaneously the Smash Bros. sandbag and a dakimakura. It's kind of like the Copenhagen interpretation, but a lot less confusing.

  19. I can, but it do not have much meaning, as there is lot of real VM implementations around. For example this one: https://github.com/vnvm/vnvm So you can use it to inspect format and create your own implementation in .story.

  21. Does not look right Seems still quite a lot of work there, if you really want to implement it, to figure out what everything does. Sound files are in IMA ADPCM format I suppose (as this is the codec which game uses to play sounds), so I think you just need to decrypt them. I just wrote a simple script to extract the script. I was reading Divi-Dead last year (as forget almost completely all about it, last time I played was 15 years ago) and was very disappointed with absence of back log... So I digged out a bit and that's result.

  24. I could pick up the editing on this in a couple weeks. There will be a period of time where I don't think I'll be involved in any official projects for anybody, so this could give me something interesting to work on.

  25. With multiplayer games, instead of "cheating" I employ "strategy". For example, when seated next to a person beating me convincingly, I would yank his controller cord out of the console. The lengthy 'WHAT THE FUCK' and his subsequent scrambling granted me plenty of time to rack up an advantage. A little bit harder to do now that wireless controllers have become a thing, but a hearty overhead chop should be enough to make him drop his controller, granting you a few precious seconds to do what you will. ... ‘Strategy’ :3 Note: Shielding your controller and your person against retaliatory strikes is a must.

  27. If it's a single player game then do what you want. If cheating somehow makes the game more enjoyable for you then knock yourself out. Multiplayer is a different story though, especially when it comes to competitive games. When it comes to online multiplayer I think devs should have a zero tolerance policy and perma ban on first offense.

  28. If you're just playing the game solo at home I could care less if you use GOD MODE or whatever else. It's just you and the CPU, and the CPU has no feelings. If you're cheating in some sort of multi-player game to get an advantage over others in PK or tournaments or whatever, then you're a dick.
