Elsewhere High reveal!
Onodera Punpun and one other reacted to Penholder for a topic
Hey there! I am super new to VNs but as soon as I discovered them I knew that I needed to create one of my own. It has been months in the making but I am finally ready to announce my VN. It is called Elsewhere High and chapter 1 is coming out very soon (no firm release date yet.) The first chapter is actually going to be released for free, with subsequent chapters being sold for a small cost. It will be released on Android devices through Google Play, and on PC and Mac through itch.io. I put together a small trailer for the first chapter and will post it here. I don't want to give away too much about the plot, but I'm sure I will answer any general questions if any get left in the comments. Let me know if there's any specific information that I should include/release in anticipation for the launch as I am quite new to all of this. Thanks so much for taking time to read this and have a good one. Trailer:2 points -
VN with lots of anal
Dergonu and one other reacted to Funyarinpa for a topic
just popping in to say that I find it fucking hilarious to see someone justify a taste for anal on a forum where porn about incest, noncon, loli stuff (oh wait) recommendations run wild. : P Nobody's gonna judge ya!2 points -
But I was the first to express a reasoned impression of the game. Aren't the people who deliberately disagree with me and are only arguing with "muh feels" the edgy ones? Remember the time when "egdy" wasn't an insult used by third generation otakus to revile well thought out criticism of their favorite escapism outlets? Ah, good times.2 points

VN with lots of anal
mitchhamilton and one other reacted to littleshogun for a topic
Anal huh? Well not too bad if I said it (As long as not in real life and between guy that is). Anyway, there's a lot if you want the examples and let me recommend Anal Mama (Untranslated), Miles (Translated and had female protagonist), and this one (Also untranslated). I don't know if those three will fulfill some of your wishes there, but good luck.2 points -

It is as bad as I said it was in my post in the untranslated vn thread... and yes, everyone who liked it should be ashamed of himself. It is really that bad.2 points

Kanojo Step is the latest VN from Smee, a company famous (or infamous) for making old style first-generation charage (right down to being able to name the protagonist and having him be a non-person, as well as there either being no drama or only weak/easily resolved drama in the story). As such, I wasn't anticipating a blowout hit, and I didn't get it, of course. However, it did surprise me a bit in one aspect... ... and that was its comedy. Ok, most of it is cheesy and 'familiar', but the timing of the comedy (usually emanating from the protagonist, as he is a 'class clown' style protagonist) is pretty much perfect and frequent enough that I spent about sixty-percent of this VN laughing. Unfortunately, the slice-of-life in this VN and the romance (which make up everything that isn't comedy) are... unimpressive. They chose to go with heroines that were surprisingly dependent and deredere after they and the protagonist get together, and that wasn't a bad choice. However, the simple fact is that there is a huge gap in the quality of narration and dialogue between parts meant to be funny and parts that are meant to be semi-serious. This is the first VN I've encountered in a while where I felt like going to sleep whenever I wasn't laughing... and that isn't even an exaggeration. Part of this can be attributed to the fact that the common route pretty much gluts you on everyday slice-of-life, and by the time you hit the heroine routes, it feels like being handed an apple pie after having gorged yourself on six others only an hour before. Another part is that the way the everyday life parts are sectioned out is almost always the same, leaving you with a somewhat exaggerated sense of monotony. This, combined with the frequent meaningless choices and map movement systems (the classic type seen in a lot of older slice-of-life VNs that went out of style because they drove most people up the wall) made this a VN that reflected older styles... in a bad way. For all the salt I just spat, this VN is actually fairly enjoyable most of the time... it's just that when it starts to feel monotonous, it really feels monotonous... Given a more story-driven plot combined with this same comedy and the complete elimination of the map movement aspects, it would have probably inched its way up into the top five percent of the charage I've played over the years. Unfortunately, those aspects made for a VN that was far less than it could have been, at least from my perspective. Edit: Understand, the people who like the 'warm and fuzzy, devoid of any stains of negative emotion' charage will lap this up. If I were to design a VN engineered solely to prick at 'mainstream' Japanese VN otakus' desire for 'an ideal everyday youth' this would be what I would aim for. However, as a story, it is fatally boring, unoriginal, and lacking in any entertainment value outside of the comedy, which happens to be hilarious.1 point

VN with lots of anal
dfbreezy reacted to mitchhamilton for a topic
alright, listen, before you judge me i want you to remember that i am still human with wants like everyone else, and while those wants are not the same as everyone elses... something. so with that out of the way. *sigh* yes, youve read correctly. i would like a vn with lots of anal. mostly im looking for an mc who has an anal fetish and does it on most routes. now some info before i receive any suggestions: i dont care if its in japanese, i dont care if its nukige, kind of prefer that honestly some painal is nice, dont want it to be yaoi, also dont want it to exist mostly in a single route, and above all else i want it all to be consensual. before you suggest it, ive read majikoi and majikoi s and am reading the A ones. thats it. suggest and judge away.1 point -

Hey! Thanks for your response. I can definitely answer those for you. The genre is a mashup of teen-drama, mystery and light fantasy. Overall, I am hoping to make it about the people in the novel and the human relationships that they form. All of that is wrapped up in a situation completely drenched in conflict and mystery. There is a bunch to uncover. As of now, the game will not be voiced. If each chapter is successfully financed and release, there will be (about) 10 of them, which means a lot could happen from then to now, so I will never say never. And finally, I think Elsewhere High falls somewhere in between the two. There are choices the player(reader?) can make, and these choices allow them to see scenes or conversations that they wouldn't see if the other choice is selected. However, I do have a specific story to tell, and I know that arc that I am looking for the novel to take. And so, at least in Chapter 1, the choices don't lead to any alternate endings or revelations. They just provide different routes through the same story - a different path to the same destination. A good example is this: in an early scene the main character is acquainted with two fellow students at the school. They let him know that they have a few free minutes before class starts and so the player has a choice to spend the remaining time before class with new student A or new student B. So there is definitely choice involved in that sense Thanks again for your reply!1 point

There is probably 0 chance Flying Pantsu will do Revive. I'm pretty sure that the team hated the game and had to push through to finish it. Some other team would have to pick it up.1 point -

Lucid9 was released without voice acting. As I understand it, it's going to be voice acted after the full release. While I can say for a fact that Lucid9 is one of the best EVNs I've ever played, only time will tell if the voice acting is good. (And to be honest, I don't have very high hopes for anything of quality.)1 point -

I consider a VN a masterpiece when it hits me hard on the feelings. A piece of work where not only the story drives me on reading it, but something that makes me really care for the characters. That said, out of the top of my head, VNs that falls under this category are Clannad, Kanon, Gore Screaming Show, Boku no Kanojo wa Gatenkei and YU-NO. There are other VNs that have some routes that hits me hard (G-senjou no Maou and Kawarazaki-ke no Ichizoku 2), but the former that I mentioned I enjoyed literally all routes and they hit me hard everytime I read them again. Also I consider VNs a masterpiece for fap materials. I mean, I start to read a VN just for the sake of fapping and it doesn't disappoint me in any scene. That said, any title from Ricotta enter this category, the Tsumamigui series and some Anim titles (Kabe no Mukou no Tsuma no Koe is an example).1 point

Well I finished Rettou Kan, and it was a pretty good nukige. The angel route was much better than the demon route in my opinion, though both were pretty... entertaining . If you are looking for a dark nukige, you should definitely pick this one up. Nice art, lots of unique scenes and the game doesn't really try to take itself too seriously at any point in the story, which I like in my nukige. (I mean, you know right away that you are playing a nukige when the main character is literally called "protagonist." So great ) Still not done with all my Cyclet games, next up is Kasshoku no Sei Senshi Aisha, HD edition. I recently learned from Tyrosyn that the CGs have been cropped quite a bit in this version, which sucks, so I'll probably run the normal version next to it like I did with G-senjou no Maou. I know it's not a big deal most of the time, but I still hate CG cropping. (And yes, I am definitely turning into a total Cyclet fanboy. They got me. I'm beyond saving. RIP.)1 point
