  1. October is turning out to be a frustrating month, with the VN I was most interested in delayed until December (for some reason, December seems to be getting all the most interesting ones...). I honestly had hopes that October would break the 'dry spell' I've been experiencing since I completed July's releases. There is still a possibility of that happening, but I'm not getting my hopes up. Right now, I'm busy with work, trying to open up a nice quiet period so that I can get all of October's releases out of the way in as short a time as possible. This is because I have a ridiculous amount of conventional games coming out next month on my list to play, and I don't want my VN habit getting in the way like it has the last few times a new game came out (yes, I'm that much of a VN junkie). Anyway this is the list of releases for October I plan to at least try to play: Nanairo*Clip (I haven't played anything by this company, so I have no idea of what to expect, but it looks like a standard charage) Unionism Quartet A-3 Days (the fandisc to the original game, mostly playing in case they give solid after-stories to the neglected heroines from the original) Sora no Tsukurikata (Lovesick Puppies maker Cosmic Cute's newest game... definitely my initial pick for the month) Reminiscence Collection (Random VNs rather than VN of the Month, but I can't resist) Re: Lief (seriously, the Japanese finally crossed the line with this one, but I can't resist) Signalist Stars (new company, looks like an oppai-girl charage) Furerute Love Connect (charage, obviously... might or might not bother, considering how I dropped Nephrite's first game after only two hours of play because it was so boring) Gusha no Kyouben (Akabeisoft3 is pretty hit and miss, and now they are doing comedy... I'm curious as to what this will turn out to be)

    VNDB Tab icon?

nah he/she/it simply means the symbol of a vntb-tab in whichever browser , but either way that topic itself sure is some next-generation trolling, even surpassing the lax criteria for it to count as mere spamming. heil literary genocide, it´s happening...

  7. I blame English only readers (Please don't hit me), delayed production time because of wasting time on TL. FFS Grisaia fanboy does not want to wait.

  9. I like the idea of setting it in the same universe but with a different cast, actually. Da Capo does that and the sequel was better than its first title, I'd boldly claim. I also really like how the English plebs even have a translated website of their own. Yay for Frontwing's efforts in the Western scene! I wonder if people will go up in arms over the fact that it's "all ages"? Or maybe over the fact that it'll be distributed in volumes? Do they think that only cheaper titles sell? Well, they aren't exactly wrong. By the way, is the protagonist this "Haruto" chap? He's got a really unique design, VN protagonists wise. He's also the instructor? Even better. It could also be that there's no protagonist, but with him being the only male... who knows? Blond, pink, blue and brown haired characters look really interesting. All in all, terribly excited.

  13. A thriller-themed story driven linear visual novel with some gameplay elements allowing you to interact freely with characters, clues and locations to offer a deepest comprehension of the story. Due to the story structure, it's nigh impossible to tell the story without spoilers, hence for now only a small "outline" can be shared : The hero is Susumu Tokunaga, a substitute teacher back to his hometown for what might be his final course as he becomes unwilingly involved in a series of dissapearances and grisly murders. Story-driven Linear Visual Novel. Original 3 acts story divided into 7 chapters. Over 40 characters (with a total of 400 facial expressions). 1 good ending, 4 bad endings. Investigation minigames. Photo Minigame based on The Idolmaster Gravure For You!. 5 to 8 hours to beat. 70 000 words. 200 high-quality backgrounds. 40 music tracks. English and French language. Screenshots Gameplay : Analyzing clues : Suspects Interrogation : CG : CG : Game status : 100% QA : 25% English translation : 32% Steam Greenlit Youtube channel

  18. and I was expecting an utsuge without fantasy, I guess a bunch of teenage girls using military weaponry and acting as if they were a swat team is kinda depressing too in a sense specially when you shove the same overused ip name into it the makina emoticon never felt more fitting..

  20. he´s the author of a free doujin called cyber-rebeat in which he rather darn promisingly demonstrated the potential writing-abilities of his (though the engine they´ve used sucked dinosaur balls). all in all it´s by no means a masterpiece, probably never meant to be one as well, but its thought-through concept and the overall premise sets itself pleasantly apart from many others of its kind. http://www.freem.ne.jp/win/game/9149

  25. Wait, the original game's sprites and music is NOT changed, right? I can take a mediocre new arc -bar it being noncanon because I don't think there is much to add to FM canon-wise) but those backgrounds -bar being 4:3- and music are top tier. The OST is literally my favorite OST in a VN.

  30. Oh, it was a gimmick, to provide a bonus for Japanese consumers to get them to buy another copy of a game that had already come out before. That's why it's so awful, it wasn't intended for the Western markets at all. It was intended for Japanese fans - who know at least a little bit of English - to look thru. Now, key in this is the idea that most Japanese can't actually read English well enough to read the whole game; they'll read for awhile, mostly relying on the fact they already know the story. Then they'll get bored and quit. It's kind of like commentary and the trailers on a DVD; people like the fact that they're there, more than they actually use them. So from that perspective, paying for a good translation is a waste of money. The intended audience can't really appreciate it anyway, so why spend a lot of time & money when you can spend a little?

  34. Confession: Every now and then, at work, I'll copy something to the clipboard with the intent to paste it somewhere and do something with it, but then I'll get distracted. If the distraction goes on long enough, the fact that I've copied something will fall out of my conscious mind, but it will stay in my subconscious, and I'll start getting this weird itching sensation, where my brain is shouting at me that I absolutely must paste whatever is on the clipboard, somewhere, even though I have no idea what it is. Whenever I start getting that feeling, I pull up a text editor, paste it, say, "Oh yeah, crap, I was working on that", and then go on to the next step in whatever I was working on, always by pasting that into wherever it actually belongs. I've never actually gotten that feeling unless there really was something vital on the clipboard that needed to be posted. Ahh, the life of a software engineer.

  38. 1. Not really. The story doesn't look bad, but is not an original theme. But that's not bad at all, at least for me, any story can be good if it's well written. Even if its not original.2. The AI-nonAI, VR and all of that. I'm always interested in AIs. 3. Yeah! Looks great.4. They are okay, but I have to read some dialogue to know if I like the characters. 5. Really good! I mean, REALLY good. 6. Not at all, I actually like that. 7. Dunno, sorry D:8. Haven't played it but I'll give it a try tomorrow. ¡Good luck with the project!
