Okay, im not gay, im bisexual, but I have fallen in love with another guy for the first time ever and its mutual. its pretty wierd tbh, but it feels really great, the feeling of loving another and getting the same love in return is amazing no matter what gender the other person is. Granted its someone on the internet so I wont make anything public untill we meet in real life. Oh yeah I also found a love for crossdressing and im so happy that I can express myself like this and that I finally found out how happy this makes me. And umineko taught us that even though some stuff seems shallow, the happiness you get from it is genuine.

  2. Telling people why they shouldn't learn something they clearly care about is even more retarded imo. I don't go around telling stamp collectors that spending money on stamps is stupid. Because it's what they enjoy doing. Similarly, learning a language can serve multiple purposes, and neither of those purposes is wrong (well, I guess if you're learning a language to join a terrorist organization, that might not be so great).

  6. For those of you familiar with my tendency to bitch and moan about this kind of story-structure, I don't really need to explain... but I'll do so anyway. The 'ladder-style' story structure is the style used in games such as G-senjou, Aiyoku no Eustia, and Sen no Hatou. While it does make it easy to fit in a 'true' path (the true path being main street) and breaking things down into 'arcs' makes for a more expansive story, that is at the cost of increasing irritation in a way that would never have come up in a kinetic novel (which all VNs using ladder-style should be). What is that irritation? Meaningless heroine routes. There are two types of heroine in a ladder-style VN. There is the true heroine and the 'fake' heroine. I'm not kidding... all heroines other than the true one are fakes, as are their paths, in most cases. Amatsutsumi was an exception, but it was a rare one, lol. Now, in order to explain this, I'll outline how most of the games using this style tend to play out. There is a main story going on, both in the foreground and the background. In most cases, the background elements of the story that don't come out until you are in the true heroine's path preclude all possibility of the sub-heroines' paths actually existing in the context of the greater setting. Another quality of these games is that the true heroine is almost always one of the least-interesting/attractive heroines in the group, both personality-wise and setting-wise. Airheads, ditzes, weak-willed victims, naive princesses, and overconfident self-proclaimed geniuses with an impenetrable belief in their own correctness (if you haven't figured it out Eutia>Hatou>G-senjou)... the list goes on, but you get the picture (again, Amatsutsumi is the exception rather than the rule). I honestly have no idea of why all these companies that choose to use this style do it this way... Now, frequently the true path itself has excellent storytelling with round antagonists and protagonists whose value as a character far outweighs the weakness of the true heroine... but this brings up another issue. This issue is: the other heroines. The elements of the setting, the personality and objectives of the antagonists, and even the personality of the protagonist sometimes render all other heroine paths as literally impossible in most cases. If you don't mind SPOILERS for Eustia and Sen no Hatou, I'll give you some examples below. Now, as to why that's a problem... I know it is nitpicking... but when I empathize with a heroine, fall in love with her by proxy, and see her off to a happy ending, there is nothing that can possibly drive me more insane with rage than the 'true' ending of the heroine path completely invalidating the possibility of that small happiness even occurring. Eustia's best heroines are all 'fake' heroines, the same goes for G-senjou and Sen no Hatou as well. The Leyline trilogy also suffers from this particular issue. So do you understand now why I hate this type of VN structure? I have good reason to despise it. I still respect the makers of Namima no Kuni no Faust for choosing to make the game kinetic and just add the other heroines 'endings' as 'what if' scenarios in the extras far more than I will ever respect the makers of the games I mentioned above. This isn't even mentioning that, by having heroine paths split off earlier, you lose a great deal of the story meant to develop the characters in the first place. Why did I bring this up again...? Because, for the fourth time this year, I've come across a VN that I was interested in that uses this never-to-be-sufficiently-damned story structure, Sora no Tsukurikata. Damn all non-charage makers who follow fads like this particular one to hell, I say.

  15. I wouldn't worry about that. All the MangaGamer employees you might actually talk to are Western. The company is owned in Japan, but MangaGamer works in the US mostly. There also isn't anything on the cover of Imopara that could get you into trouble. Neither Aya nor Rio look remotely loli, and that's the main thing to worry about. Rest assured Japan does know about obscenity law in the US, and no localization outfit is going to put out hard copies of games that might cause an obscenity prosecution. In fact, most of the time, games that have problematic content simply aren't licensed. Shiny Days (from Jast) is the big exception to that, and there the legally-questionable loli content was removed and added back in via an unofficial patch released later. (This is significant because it means that a hard copy of Shiny Days doesn't have any such content on it, meaning that it's not problematic to sell or move across state lines.) Learning new things is all good and everything but by going with that reasoning then clearly we have a big problem. By going with the logic that everyone who is a fan of something should learn the native language is not logical, what if you are a fan of many different things? Imagine someone who likes both russian and spanish songs, will you tell them to learn both languages just because they are a fan? Translation were meant to facilitate this process, besides not everyone has the meanings, time nor money to spend for buying expensive books or committing themselves to do a course.

  21. Amusingly, the ladder-style structure reflects real life by far the best. I mean, what's more realistic: 1.) You meet five interesting girls in a disco and you either decide for one of them over the course of a few weeks or you'll be single forever. 2.) You meet an interesting girl in a pub and the situation could have gotten tense, but somehow the chemistry wasn't perfect. But a few months later you meet another girl at work and you're head over heels into her immediately. Then you meet another girl a year ago in holidays on Mallorca, but since you've already decided for the girl at work, nothing came out of it. But if you would have decided against the girl at work before, things might have gone different with the girl in Mallorca. That's simply life. You just don't meet all interesting people at the same time.

Visual Novel Translation Status (10/29/2016) Sorry for very late here, and as for the title here I didn't mean hanami (And definitely not Sakura series here) but rather it refers to Japanese folktale which tell us that there's a corpse under the sakura tree. So I think I'll just using the party part from Corpse Party (Don't care much because it was in 3DS) and sakura part from rather unknown VN. In regard of other releases, I only interested to MYTH and Sorakumo (My shortened name, since the name was quite mouthful) for now if only the graphic for those two was better than the rest of this week release and most importantly was completed and didn't released on console (Root Letter was released on PS4 and Princess Knight was still one part here). By the way, even though I knew that released Sorakumo was had the H-Scenes was cut up, I still take an interest there if only because of the gameplay there. Other This week we had some surprise from Frontwing which they decided to add another Grisaia story there with the name 'Phantom Trigger'. The reaction, let's just said it was quite mixed up here although looks like there's more who looking forward to it though. Personally I think I'll just wait and see here, because the release format here was not so favorable for Frontwing here ie instead of full Grisaia game like Kajitsu, they decided to release it by volume which is quite unacceptable imo (Chapter based usually tends to gain some apathy to the game itself). And to close this on positive note, I think blue haired long haired male MC here was quite interesting to see, if only we usually only see that MC was had black and short hair (Including Yuuji from original Grisaia). Speaking about Frontwing, this week we also had Corona Blossom volume 2 released. Well, I still did not play volume 1 yet, but maybe I will in the future. For more progresshere, Enigma will be on Steam ie launched at November 15th (By the way Conjueror also translated Miniature Garden too). And for lase but not least here, we had Libra progress advancing 15% more for Aoi's route (ie Aoi route was 30% translated) and finally they start translating 15% of Lycoris route there. Sekai Project As for them, it was only usual for them with Chrono Clock 43.98% translated, Tenshin Ranman (I always mistakenly it as Rahman) was at 61.54% translated, Maitetsu was at 47.71% translated, Bokukotsu was finally reaching 12% translated for the progress (12.01%), and Princess Knight 2 was at 81.3% translated. Other than that there's nothing special from their progress, although guess it's good that Chrono Clock finally show the progress a little bit after they stagnant for the last week. Momory Dogma demo here was released, and while I didn't play it yet I think it could be good Visual Novel there looking from the production value (Opening and seiyuu). Although too bad that they decided to release more chapter in the future, so I couldn't said that I'm interested for now (But maybe I will the future). Oh, and they had one more progress there although it was not reported on Sekai tracker though. It was Hoshimemo retranslation project, and according to the translator (Akerou) they managed to retranslated halfway of it (50%) although I'm not sure though (He was gave the info back at October 5th). Fan Translation This week we had some other progress other than usual one, so I'll list those first here. First of all, we had Majikoi A was at finalizing in which they had 75 out out of 102 scripts was finished the finalizing. While I admit here that I didn't care about Majikoi A project there if only because of a fandisc only, and beside the original one was already satisfying enough to me, look forward to it if you Majikoi fan there. Second update here we finally had Sayooshi update after there's no update for long time there, and tight now it was at 38.24% translated. The third here we had To Heart 2 was 95 edited, and according to Ittaku he was only need to editing the rest of Manaka's route to complete the editing. For the last update for unusual one, we had Nocturnal Illusion Renewal was at 4.6% for the second editing there. As for usual progress, first of all we'll had Bishoujo Mangekyou duology here. The first one here was at 95% edited and 90% QC-ed, while for 2.5 it was at 47% translated and 43% TLC-ed. In regard of Luna Translation, Tsui Yuri was at 97% translated and for Majokoi while the translation progress was slowing down there, at least there's still stable if we talk about the update here (The progress was 52.5% translated, 39.1% edited, and 19.2% TLC-ed). And for the last but certainly not the least, Loverable here showing good progress here and for more detail, it was at 22.99% (Or maybe I should call it 23%) translated, 4.74% edited, 6.93% TLC-ed, and they started the QC here which right now it was at 0.83%. That's all for fan translation section. Mangagamer As epected they give plenty of update this week, and hopefully they will go back to their schedule twice a week if we talk about update. I'll just list it first here. Evangile W was at 66.2% translated Hapymaher was 55% translated and 36% edited Fata Morgana Fandisc was 35% translated Imouto Paradise 2 was fully translated and 46% edited Suki Suki both fully translated and edited Boukaku was 40% translated and 37% edited Maggot Bait was 3% translated Pygmalion was about starting the testing Kuroinu was 44% edited Da Capo 3 and Rance VI was currently in testing Sorcery Joker was 54% translated and halfway edited Nyuu Jene was finishing the testing Hadaka Shitsuji aka Naked Butler was 30% retranslated and 21% edited for the retranslation Dal Segno was at 79% for both of translating and editing progress Not much I could said here, other than good job. And for Himawari, they only said that it was on post testing process there. I just hope thagt i will be released soon here (Mangagamer said Soon™ though, so no much I could expect here I guess). For one more progress, they also already had Go Go Nippon 2016 ready for the pre-order and it will be released at November 11th although I could care less here about that for now. Oh, and about the release they released MYTH. As for my first look, I think while it's some kind of doujin VN at least the character was look better than both of Higurashi and Umineko original design imo. The premise was apparently MC was dragged to the shadow world or something like that. Didn't knew much for now other than apparently it'll be full of question and the soundtrack was composed by some member from 07Expansion (The company between Higurashi and Umineko), so at least we could expect that the soundtrack will be fitting to the scenes imo just like in the past.   23. Those rare exceptions are more or less stories written well, or at least well enough to fit into ladder-style storytelling. Majority of games are simply horribly thought out and written; all thanks to those pathetic writers, who literally have no idea how to adopt their excuse of a story into visual novel medium.

  24. I never concern myself about which routes are canon, which are impossible, etc. I treat all routes exactly the same, whether they're in a typical multi-route moege or if it's g-senjou no maou. It's all fiction, it's all fake, none of it ever feels "real" to me in the context you describe. So I don't get bothered by some routes obviously taking a backseat to others in a game's canon. The only time that bothers me is when it's clear those routes had very little effort put into them and they feel like stub routes. G-Senjou no Maou's routes were pretty much fine in this regard, they all told somewhat involved and interesting stories, even if the most complicated story was obviously the true route. In Eustia, I've only played the partial patch so I've only read the Fiona route, which was really disappointingly short and uneventful. It's not the fact that the game will move on and progress the story past those points which bothers me, it's the fact that Eustia's routes are just bad which bothers me.

I was thinking Amantes... and everything made post-Soranica seems to fail when I try to play it across multiple PCs, which means I can only use the install on my external to play it on the pc I installed it from. I never tried it with Acta, since I was only interested in getting the most complete version of Dies Irae on there. Edit: The convenience of installing something on an external is basically being able to play it on any pc that can handle its spec requirements... I got tired of having to reinstall stuff all the time, so I just bought a 1tb high-speed thumb drive and installed my favorite games on it as I went. Unfortunately, I kept running into problems with ones that wouldn't let me set the saves to the game folder, ones that require the game to be registered inside the system of the pc in question, and ones that require disc insertion.

  26. It depends on the VN. Some VNs require a disc to be in the drive at all times, others require that the registry made when you installed the game in your computer exist in all computers you play it in, and others let you do what you want. Light's games, for instance, require the registry, so you can't play them from an external on multiple computers without installing them through those computers. Akatsuki Works games, once they are ready to play, can be shifted manually to an external drive and played from them (I have a thumb drive with every Akatsuki Works and Propeller game, as well as several other favorites, permanently installed). In the end, the answer is that it depends on the game.

    I've played a few of the games, only the first three generations, and I haven't played for about a year give or take. Sun or Moon would be a great chance to get into Pokemon again, so I'll most likely get it around it's release.

I just discovered something, if you just keep ending the turn without declaring war with other country, no one will declare war on you, and when you get the staff, you declare war to other country and let them dominate all your territory, doing that you are going to unlock the staff in the NG+. No idea if this is something that everyone knows.

  35. Not at all, only the protagonist gets raped every now and then (But he doesnt oppose resistance) but thats because he seems to rarely take advances at the heroines so they have to do it first. The whole game is pretty lighthearted except at certain story scenes (But nothing too dark). Sadly it seems the world conquest genre is filled with rape with few exceptions like this and Koihime Musou, wich is sad since i would love to play them but i cant stand rape. As for the difference between both there are many but dont worry both are self contained so once you beat Gold you can go back to the original without any trouble. So what Gold has new is: >New characters and new designs for some characters (Like the Protagonist that in my opinion looks far cooler in Gold). >New synthesis and shop system. >New battle type (Not used all the time) >Almost every Heroine getting a sex scene (Around 56 or so characters have H-scenes compared to the first game when roughly half the cast didnt got any scene). >All heroines get enough screen time (In the original the japanese characters, Mainly Himiko and Arthur were given more schreen time). >Entirely new soundtrack (Far superior than the original in my opinion) The only part were the original surpass Gold is in the story but Himiko is pretty annoying since the game shoves her and to a lesser extent Arthur as the main heroines with many H-scenes for them to boot. Anyways be sure to use the english UI patch for Gold available in Hongfire.
