I was very vocal about my passion for visual novels and porn during my uni years too, so I'm actually impressed by the guts of the guy, and agree with him on the philosophical level at least. The only thing our society achieved by repressing sexuality for arbitrary reasons is more mental illness and stress. An according to Freud, all forms of art are just sublimation of our sexuality anyway, so I don't see why a drawing of sex couldn't be considered it. ...That said, you won't overturn thousands of years worth of societal imprinting with a single class, so the reaction was pretty much unavoidable. You probably could have tried to soften the presentation by obfuscating the image a little, or giving them some historical Japanese "pornographic" art like I linked earlier and introduce that as an evolution of that. Anyway, it's a complicated thing that will automatically make a lot of ppl upset if not presented well... and uh, I'm not sure if high school is the best place for it, given that our society arbitrarily restricts people your age from even consuming erotica yet... still better be a weirdo than live as a pretender!

All art is in the eye of the beholder. If it touches you intimately as you look at it, read it, watch it, etc. then it can, in your point of view, be considered art. Only rich snobs, Eurotrash 'artists' and 'art critics', and cultural snobs think otherwise.

As my name may suggest im a hentai lover, it had a big impact on my life as is something that helped me through my depression, for me its the greatest work of art invented by mankind, doesn't matter wich genre it never fails to hypnotize me, but i feel like a lot of people fail to understand that and think of hentai as something disgusting that only sick people watch. Recently i presented a work on powerpoint about art in general(theory,painters,etc..) to my whole class and one of the topics were "Are games art"? and i immediately thougth of visual novels/eroges, so i decided to make a slide about erotic art and connect it with hentai putting an image, I thougth it was an great idea but apparently I was wrong, I got rekt by my class and especially my teacher to the point where he said i needed a psychiatrist. Let me make it clear that he didnt said that because i had "sexual content" on the work but more due to the fact that he saw that as "doll porn" and despisable content. I got really pissed off but i decided to hold my nerves, I even explained why I considered it art, proved my points and analyzed the image but he ignored it anyway. So I would like to know what do you think of hentai in general(animation,eroge,doujinshi..). Do you think its art? Btw, this was the image i used:

I actually didn't realize we left "shitfaced" in, lol. That actually comes from my ancient script from way before I even met Gare or thought it would go anywhere. We probably should have edited it to "wasted" like you say, but I guess we found it funny at the time or smth. We didn't know the game would have voices, yeah. And also we've never really played many visual novels in English before, so our main inspiration was stuff like Phoenix Wright or Final Fantasy games, which are all dubbed. Though I dunno, I personally thought getting a bit creative with interjections made the script have more character (it definitely took more effort than just transcribing them xD). I think our confidence was boosted by the fact we were double checking and greenlighting all each other lines and that I had read the game so many times I could pretty much recite it from memory. I feel the main reason TB doesn't have as much of that was because we'd gotten lazy, lol. For the proofreading, ugh, I had to do a lot of last minute changes to the text in a hurry because of the censorship thing and a few other matters after the beta test, and they never got edited or proofread. I think most of the typos come from that, unfortunately.

I mean, a visual novel is like a book. I don't really care about watching other people read books; I'd like to read them myself. So I don't see the point of it at all. But, if people do like them, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to, just like any other let's play really.

A while back me and my friend ended up in a discussion about what place Let’s Plays have when it comes to visual novels. After approximately two hours of debating, it would eventually lead to us making a whole 17 minute video on the topic. Tried out the demo, and I shall leave my impressions here: General: Plot Impressions (may contain spoilers up till the end of the demo): Less than an hour long if you're not me, I think. Doesn't really let us get a grip on anyone's personality. Maybe Kagura's. A bit. It does introduce the setting properly, I guess. I'm definitely planning on reading this BUT, I fully intend to find out if this'll be a long (at least 10 hours) or short title. And if it's divided into routes then I'd need at least 15. My reading speed, of course, which does not seem to be all that fast.

Take it as a learning experience that some things are dangerous topics and if you want to talk about them, you'll need to know a lot about it to cut through the initial prejudice. Feelings and emotion aren't enough. VN hentai art, taking heavy influence from anime art, don't really do many things unique also. I think what you have is a strong feeling of emotion and admiration towards hentai. A person can share this kind of feeling for many different things, but to the outside person it's all very hard to understand. Don't underestimate how difficult it is for someone else to understand. Now couple that with the fact that people are often non-receptive to this. Basically, in most cases, its not a good idea to share(?) At the very least, don't push the issue.

I think honorifics should (and have to be) be mantained only if those conditions are met: - The product is placed in Japan, with japanese people speaking Japanese - There are some dialog lines specifically focused on honorifics usage, or there are specific situation in which the removal of honrifics will hamper the plot, create confusion, or things won't make sense anymore without heavy changes to the script. - There's no way to directly translate (or simulate) the honorific in question Otherwise it's like directly translate italian formal speech pattern (he/she instead of you) into english: "Sir, would he like another cup of tea?" "Mr. Jhonson, his flight will take off in less then 30 minutes, he better leave as soon as possible", if you are unfamiliar with the language things will easily stop to make sense. Sure, you will lose some nuances, but you definitely have to always use "you" in english.

Both sides are, really. IIRC, Satoru's side of it (which must be triggered first) happens on the third day, but I'm not quite sure about that. If you get an ending around the halfway point of Satoru's route that's basically a sequence of really weird and surreal events, that's the one I'm talking about. Trust me, you'll know what I mean when you get it.

I don't know about the OP, but after hearing how the patch was actually an accidental leak, I'm not too fond of the idea in reading a version of something they're working their butts off on, that they don't want to be read yet. Nah, you don't necessarily NEED the bad ends before second route(?), it's just that due to the way the flags are set for this VN once you go into the second route you'll have to literally replay the first route from scratch or something to reset the flags to get those ends, which you noticed are pointless and not worth your time anyways. Thematically, the abundance of ends and whatnot will tie in to the R11's lackluster ending. A small thematic thing, nothing big. But it helped me appreciate that shat ending better.

Lol. Pretty much irrelevant on its scope. It's like you can't. Not really, as you can see, at least not from the get go and not as widespread as pc it always makes. What's done is done, of course, and there's not much point to starting another holy war, but I really see no reason to be happy about it in the big scheme of things even for the most cynical of pirates: pc gets even worse rep, great guys at PQube get less money, 5pb's less popular games like Anonymous;Code become even less likely to be localized. Hopefully enough people already bought it for ps4 and vita either way.
