You are basically asking whether we would watch porn with our parents. Having porn as an adult is only natural, but you don't watch that with your parents... Do people browse youporn while friends are over celebrating mom's birthday in the next room? Same for you playing games with your waifu getting doublepenetrated by orcs. Why is that even a question.

There's actually a third version, the Umineko Project version, which goes far beyond what the UmiTweak patch did. They coded a whole new engine from scratch which replicates the PS3 version near-exactly, with lots of special effects and features the UmiTweak version didn't have, and at the same time they TLCed and edited the Witch Hunt translation, separately from MangaGamer. Both Umineko Project and MangaGamer translations are improved by a pretty large amount, but I haven't really dug into either so I can't get into the specific differences.

For the most part, I don't collect physical copies much. But I am pretty proud of my physical copy of Subarashiki Hibi. It was the first thing I actually bought when I visited Akihabara. My copy (which I think is just a standard copy) also came with an art book which is pretty cool.

Most VN endings suck. I know that sounds like an overly generalized statement, but the fact is that VN writers just don't seem to be very good at finalizing their stories. If you make me love the characters and get interested in the story, I want an ending that is at the same level or higher than what I read in the rest of the VN...

It's also worth mentioning that there is a patch which adds PS3 art and voices to the MangaGamer version: https://github.com/07th-mod/umineko-question It doesn't contain all the features Umineko Project has, but they're all pretty minor (screen shake, animated text, rain effects, other misc visual effects, a few unimportant system features).

I have no first-person experience, but from what I hear the MG tl is textually better than the ps3 port version, but of course loses the ps3 port's graphical features and such.

I'll enter the figurine market...................... someday. Have a single figurine of Rin Natsume that, while cheap, is pretty cool. Just before I took a look at it and realised figurines are cool. Yes, my decision making is just that way... sometimes ^^U This Rin fig is part of the "Beach Queens" collection, you probably know what it is.

All my hard copies are prized possessions and it grows every month.

Em... I just playing VNs and other people usually don't say what I'm doing. Just "meh, what the..." - and that's all. I continue to enjoy it, and nothing happens. If you want to know about, how I deal with 18+ scenes, I usually read them, when nobody at home, for example. And yeah, I have some 18+ content as physical edition, but I keep it in safe place and don't show anyone. It's only my treasure, hah. So... I don't have that problem.

Then act like it. You are not 12-year-old who has to hide naughty books from his mom It's not like people will you burn you on a stake for fapping to VNs. (at least not literally, that would be murder)

Read the WN. Rem is without doubt the "main character" of arc 3, but Emilia certainly took back the main heroine spot on arc 4 and 5. Her character got more developed later on. Well, I still love both of them, though. And about alternate ending; there is actually one where Subaru eloped with Rem on that one scene. Again, just check out the WN - the author actually wrote one. It's very heartwarming, and Rem certainly attained her well-deserved happiness.

Compared to the other disturbed people on this forum I'd say my pathology is mild.

I didn't like any of the endings to 11eyes except for the kikuji kikokugai also ended in a very lame and bad way and honestly hated the explanation for why the main antagonist did what he did.

No, no, no. I'm talking pre-production of Clannad. Yukine was intended to have a romantic route with Tomoya, but it was convoluted and confusing so it was dropped in favor of the gang and family sub-route instead. Which I would have preferred having a romance route with Yukine because she is best gril in Clannad. Out of the main heroines though, I'd have to say my favorite route is Kotomi.

I generally dislike submissive herbivore heroines. The very fact i gave such a rating for Rem is enough explanation at how good she was, nah? Also, MAL, really?

Dude, i don't want to crush your hopes. But yet it's true Mages do a groundbreaking work with their Science/ADV VNs (S;G 0 is an instant masterpiece) Their cash-grab VNs based on "big" names are really bad (We don't talk about the psycho-pass VN) So don't expect anything good from it.

Hmmmm, there are plenty of routes for heroines that I found pretty disappointing, but there are hardly any "endings" that really took me off guard. The only one that jumps out in my memory is the true ending of Clannad. They had a powerful story about overcoming personal tragedy and putting your life together after God gives you the finger........... than they decided to commit plot suicide with a overdose of space magic. Fuck your deus ex machina Clannad.

Nobody should be mad that they DMCA'd the fan-translation. The thing was started for basically the sole purpose of spiting Mangagamer, so should it really come as a surprise that they bit back? Also, the person translating it was busy with other duties within the company which is why it took so long. If you're faulting that, you're either saying they should assign other translators to it (they probably don't have the kind of manpower to do that), or try and force him to work faster. Neither of those are good options.

I'll ask you a single thing: was DC III, perhaps, the only visual novel you have ever heard of from mangagamer? I almost feel personally offended when someone compares MG to other existing players like Sekai or JAST and then call them pathetic because they are somehow too slow. DC III and Himawari are almost exceptions by now for the modern MG and the latter wasn't even their fault. I'm at a loss for words. Do you even understand that Dies translation has started a very long time ago and is nearly complete, the only reason they will release it so soon is because the localization itself has been revealed extremely late in the game. You know, with how you think that translation begins only after the formal announcement, MG has released Rance even faster than Dies!

How many fan-translators just straight up quit before finishing anything? That's hardly efficient.

Can you really call it "efficient" when the fan translation was as poorly done as it was? Quality takes time. "Fan translators are way more efficient than the publishers!" *looks at number of fan translations released this year versus official releases* Oh...
