  4. I'm Eiliya, the founding member of Eternals Developing, a small studio of indie developers that mainly focuses on erotic games (we do have other projects in the air as well, but I will refrain from mentioning them here). Since one of our games is fairly close to reaching the point where we can release a demo, our programmer suggested that we start trying to spread the word of our game. Fuwanovel was among the sites that he suggested, so here I am. Let me introduce the game. Hellscape - The Scelus Empire is what I like to call a patchwork game. It's intended to feature aspects from various types of games, such as the narration system of visual novels, the turn-based combat of old-school rpgs and the city building/governing of many simulation games, mixed in what I hope will be a fun and engaging experience for any player. The main focus of the game is obviously going to be the story told and when the game starts, only the visual novel narration and the rpg system will be available to the player but as the story moves on and future episodes are released, new features will be added to the previous version. Warning: From here on is the details of the game. While there will be no actual such images on display, the game is erotic in nature. If this bothers you, this read is not for you. Also, if you do not really care for what the game is about and only wishes to know what you can do to help, there are links at the bottom of the post. Story: You play as Taranoir, a demigod that once ruled over Hellscape, the mightiest empire in the Abyss. Due to the goddess that created you having been captured by enemy dieties, you have now lost your divine powers and the mighty empire is crumbling into chaos. In order to survive, you escape to the mundane world with the intention of gathering enough followers and worshippers to elevate yourself into goodhood, thus regaining the power you need to rescue your divine parent and retake your lost homeland. And what is the best way to go about doing this? Conquring the world, of course! Seeing as how walls of text are usually frowned upon by the community, I put the biggest chunk of text into a spoiler. It contains details about the various systems we plan on using, so if you are interested, please do read it. For those of you who want something that is a bit less heavy to handle, here's a video demo of the first few minutes of the game (note that only the visual novel aspect of the game is being shown): Since I do not know if I am allowed to post links to crowdfunders, I'll refrain from doing so. If you are interested in helping me out, drop me a private message and we can solve the issue in private. Thank you a lot for having taken the time to read thus far. It means a lot to us.

  10. I don't know, supposedly every character has an ending sequence, and you have to unlock them. There's a gimmick: if you do certain things you achieve max influence with all characters. It's not exactly Harvest Moon/Rune Factory material, here the story has a major focus.

  11. Forgot to say it but I finished New Danganronpa V3 a few days ago. Man, I cannot wait to see the reactions when the game gets released in English... the ending has completely split the Japanese fandom into two factions (and one of them is giving 1-star reviews at Amazon...).

  12. Are you forgetting Suu? And Mero? And - you know what, just buy the license to Monster Musume. As for the survey, I figured I'll just dump mine here: 1. What kind of non-human girls do you want to see in XERO's next Visual Novel? The less commonly-used ones are best. Look at Monster Musume; do more exotic ones like that. (Both in terms of species and how they act.) 2. What kind of non-human girls do you think are the MOST POPULAR? Catgirls. Exhibit A: Nekopara. 3. What is your LEAST FAVORITE kind of non-human girl? Ones that look or act too much like normal humans wearing a funny costume. Especially those whose entire character is cribbed from the cliche lists.

  13. No, it's just that two of Ariurotl most hated heroines were from Hoshimemo. As for Hoshimemo was had likeable character or not, it's up to you to find it if I may say here.

    Tales of Berseria

@Darklord Rooke For your information, the game's visuals are extremely smooth, even when the camera swivels. However, keep in mind that I'm playing on PS4 Pro on a UHD TV... so my experience probably isn't going to be equivalent to the average one.

  17. Let's see, how about Yoake and Shuffle there? And if you want more slice of life then I think first Da Capo would be good for starting the franchise. Hope it'll be help.

  20. Koiken Otome fits the criteria well in my opinion. The art is very nice, the cast is pretty great and it's lighthearted.

  21. Hoshizora no Memoria. Don't know if you've read that, but it's long, has strong cast, it's ambitious, and the art... depends from person to person, I liked it a lot, don't know about you.

  22. Kindred Spirits Karakara (on the short side, but not too short, IMO) Maybe Koihime Musou? It's neither slice-of-life nor HD by any definition, but it's got likeable heroines all day long and lovely art, especially given its age.

  24. So, after several months of reading (with interruptions), I finally managed to finish Mirai Nostalgia. Honestly, I'm not really sure how long it really was, but even if I just played the two main routes from Anna and Iori, it felt like an eternity. I have somewhat mixed feelings about it. Partly because I had different expectations about it. Synopsis and tags in VNDB about the story actually looked a lot more interesting than it tuned out to be. When I started to read it I therefore thought it would be more of a mystery VN, but it turned out to be an almost 100% pure slice of life VN with little to nothing happening and just some slight nakige elements at the end instead. Slice of life is usually intended more for relaxed reading and chilling out, but since reading Japanese is still a quite exhausting process for me, I need at least a bit more action to feel rewarded for my efforts. Especially since I'm not the biggest fan of slice of life VN's anyway. And this was pretty much like reading Princess Evangile in Japanese. And what made it even worse is that I was also reading Yoakena in English at the same time which was even more slice of life. As a consequence I had to tone down my reading to smaller doses to avoid going crazy. Anyway, just taken as it is, it's probably a decent slice of life VN with some likable heroines and good visuals. However, there are some noticable flaws that keep it from being more than that. And that's first and foremeost the protagonist. He's so passive and submissive that he's easily hetare 3.0. Granted, that's not exactly an uncommon problem for Japanese VN's, but it was worse than usual here. Especially, since certain heroines being madly in love with the protagonist was a central element of the story. And having a protagonist about as useful as a doorpost doesn't make that particular convincing. It also completely ruined the romance scenes since there was almost no chemistry between the protagonist and the heroines. The VN was also painfully boring at times, although that's probably a common problem of slice of life VN's. The nakige elements towards the end were also just very light. That's not to say I would have wanted lots of heavy drama, but here it just turned to whiny slice of life for a short time and then back to plain comedy slice of life for hours. Overall, I would have just liked to see a normal and serious conversation between mature persons for a change, instead of almost non-stop trivial cutesy and comedy chit chat. On the other hand, some of the moe and comedy wasn't so bad, it was just a too heavy dose for me. Heroine ratings: Anna > Haru > Iori > Uta > Kanata > Shizuku >> Nono > Hinano (The latter two felt strangely out of place. I think the VN would have been better without them.) Overall rating: 6.0 / 10 (I would have probably rated it a bit higher if I would have read it in English though, so I'm partly to blame.) Also played Mama-Haha inbetween since it reminded me of Tsumamigui 3 and JD Onsen to get my head free a bit. The former was better than expected while the latter was kinda plain even if the animated scenes were a nice change of pace. Still busy with Unionism Quartet A3 which is kind of okay for fan service when taken in smaller doses just one route after another with small breaks inbetween. Anyway, currently I really feel burned out from slice of life so I'll keep a distance from such VN's for a while. Which also means I'll delay Da Capo 3 a bit since I don't want to ruin my experience by not being in the mood for it. I think I'm therefore going to read Ikusa Megami Verita next in Japanese. That should be more what I need now.
