  1. For side stories, well Yuzusoft VNs always like to apply that extra content ever since Dracu Riot, with the main reason of it is to provide sex scenes, something which several VNs also follow (Such as Marmalade VNs). For something that has more than sex scene, I did remember that Newton VN also provide that with one of side stories is the alternative ending that didn't make any sense to the main narrative (Which even the author warned about it), so at least we can treat it as the fanservice if we knew the real ending of Newton VN. In regard of rewarding player interest, if you mention something like different gameplay then Aoishiro (Which the official publisher butcher it) has one in the Extra menu that can only be unlocked after finished the game. Another one that I can recall is Baldr Sky and Duel Savior, in which GIGA decided to throw the endless battle mode as the way to allow the player to keep playing the game even after they finished with it. Oh yes, Fate Hollow did provide hanafuda card gameplay as the extra content, although unfortunately I can't play it seeing that I didn't know the rule lol. Another type of the unlockable content would be Append, but seeing that it unlocked immediately as soon as you install it instead of the necessity of finished the game it didn't count. Also actually there's much more unlockable feature besides standard trio CG Gallery, Sex Scene Gallery, and BGM Gallery, such as Sprite Gallery (Yuzusoft VNs), Scene Gallery (Venus Blood series), and lastly the rare VA Commentary (Which usually rarely translated and available in Atelier series as well). Oh yes, while it's usual that the developer provided BGM Gallery, sometimes the developer didn't manage to have it available, such as in Aokana and Aojashin (Original version) with sprite didn't manage to do so even in initial version of EXTRA 2. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Unlockable Extra Content in VNs.

  2. @HataVNI Honestly, I'd recommend at least creating discussion threads for the content posted on the main site. I believe it used to be the norm in the past. The discussions were often pretty interesting, and it would make the main site more visible for those of us who mostly visit forums.

  3. You're welcome! It's pretty fun and is good Japanese practice.

  4. And now I'm done with 090.s, marking the end of my first pass of Rui's true route. While I have done some editing myself, I think it could use another look, and if anyone knows enough Japanese to work on TLC I'd appreciate it. Either way, I'll revisit it after I get through the other untranslated sections. The party ending of Rui's route will remain untranslated until I get through the other heroines and begin work on the party route. I'm looking at doing Maiya's route next, since Keika's seems more difficult with all the slang. Hopefully by the time I tackle it I'll be more familiar with that stuff. Rui's route was about 100 hours of work in my spare time over the past 6 months. I think I can maintain the same pace going forward, though if my workload increases I might shorten the amount of time I spend on it per day to avoid burnout. I'll make a pull request and release a patch soon. Hope all of you enjoy it

    Katawa Shoujo

Katawa Shoujo Summary Hisao Nakai is a normal kid living a normal life. A senior in High School, things seem to be going his way until, in the middle of a love confession, his heart seizes up and he collapses. Upon waking, Hisao is informed that he has a heart arrhythmia: a condition which will require major lifestyle changes if he wants to stay healthy. Katawa Shoujo is the story of a boy, force-transferred to a school for disabled kids, and his special friends who open his eyes to what life is truly about. Ending Guide Katawa Shoujo is divided into five story arcs (one for each of the central characters), or "routes": Lilly Hanako Emi Rin Shizune You will encounter each of these girls several times in the course of Act 1, and depending on your choices, the game will select a route for you to take. Act 2 (through the end of the game) will be different for each story arc, or "route". What this means, of course, is that Act 1 is extremely complex in terms of choices (and the computer variables and flags associated with them). This complexity makes for an awesome story, but is difficult to explain in a textual walkthrough. Consequently, please consider the following advice: I recommend playing through Act 1 making the choices that come naturally to you, and observing each of the girls carefully. By the end of Act 1, you'll more or less know in your heart which route you want to start with. If you made choices by listening to your heart, you'll probably have already ended up in the route you want! If that's not the case, or you're playing through the game again and want to follow a different route, please see the individual route walkthroughs: they will guide you from the beginning of the game until the end, and will faithfully see you through to your chosen heroine. Thank you for using this walkthrough. Katawa Shoujo is the first visual novel I ever played, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. Also... Lilly forever! Route Walkthroughs PROLOGUE Katawa Shoujo opens to a prologue of sorts (a snowy confession) which leads immediately into Act 1: Life Expectancy. Lily Good and Neutral Endings Hanako Good and Neutral Endings Bad Ending Emi Good and Neutral Endings Bad Ending Rin Good, Neutral and Bad Endings Shizune Good and Bad Endings Note: Katawa Shoujo features notifications on choice screens which will help you see whether or not you've made a choice before. This will help all of the 100%-Driven players out there. As an added resource, please see this incredible flowchart, made by Feuver. If you're missing scenes, I'd focus on getting all the bad ends -- especially in Act 1 (they're probably what you're missing). Attribution This guide was based heavily on both Feuver's flowchart as well as information gleamed directly from personal experience as well as the official Katawa Shoujo site. A big thanks to Four Leaf Studios, the creators of the game, for the wonderful memories and powerful stories they've left us
