[Studio Frisay] Ushinawareta Mirai o Motomete Translation Project
masster_auron and 4 others reacted to Tooko for a topic
The main thing is that the script is 100% done. Unfortunately, some real world things have taken some time away from the project, but progress on the user interface is still ongoing. There were some additional unforeseen issues with it that made it more complex and time consuming than we would have originally hoped. A lot of the coding and rendering in this game was kind of unusual, in addition to some issues with running the game on modern systems (specifically the most recent version of Windows 11). Hopefully, we can get this all done and release the full patch in May.5 points -

Hi, I'm not sure if it will work on what you're trying to work on, but I found a tool for "DDsystem" which is apparently the same family of engines through my deep and enduring connections (I searched the eroge translations discord). You can download it here https://mega.nz/file/PssyWQjR#mP8MY91fGXl-DHv6NfvIUtDjfFTTndIQJPrp24Dr9aM2 points

Its name used to be Mware, so that's why you didn't find many information with the name "Diesel". More compatible with modern system and it supports utf8 encoding. Anyways, here's the tool supports unpacking/packing every game uses Mware. How to use: Unpacking: Drag & drop npk file to Npk3tool and choose the game's index to unpack. Packing: Remain "[Unpack_name].npk~" folder, then drag & drop it to Npk3tool and choose game's index to pack.2 points -
Pure x Connect Translation [Common route patch released]
NookGaming and one other reacted to cooliosbombinos for a topic
Ah, oops... I've just seen your reply now @cloture You're right, it has been a while, unfortunately my motivation on the project has dropped quite drastically over the past few months. The good news is I only have about 80 voiced lines of Shiho's last h-scene and the last chapter to translate (so roughly 480 lines). This honestly should only take about a day of locking in and just doing it but... ahaha... After that, I'd have to play-test edit the 2nd half of Shiho's route which shouldn't take too long (like an hr or 2) but I'd probs leave it for another day. Please bear with me a bit longer, thank you for your message, it's given me a little bit of a push to do some work on it tonight. Finally, it's up to the team to quality check my work, I actually haven't heard word from them since I sent the last 2 route translations though so well... fingers crossed?2 points -
Just a quick update since I haven't done one in a month. The QC of the script is currently at 63% with Kaori's and Airi's routes already complete, and Nagisa's route nearly done, too. The QC should be done by the very end of March, so we're currently aiming to release the full patch sometime in early April. There's still a lot of testing that needs to be done, but it shouldn't be too long now.2 points

The Winter Musha Review - Top 10 Best Rated Visual Novels Translated in 2021
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
I suppose we can say that 2021 here is the continuation of 2020 in that we're still in the middle of the pandemic, although there's a lot of vaccination right now. Of course, it won't stop the releases of the translated VNs, and it's nice to see that JAST is very aggressive regarding the release in 2021, so much so that it can rival both Mangagamer and Sekai for yearly release numbers. With that done, let's see which translated VNs I chose as the best-rated ones in 2021. I'm sorry if some of your favorites are not here, so you may disagree with my choice because I may be subjective. Lastly, the scores and rank can fluctuate in the future, and for the reminder, the scores are the VNDB score for each VN as of today (April 2nd, 2025). Before I go with the best-rated translated VNs, I'll write the honorable mentions for 2021 here. The honorable mentions are Onigokko (VNDB 7.13), Ninki Seiyuu no Tsukurikata (VNDB 7.19), and Kimagure Temptation (VNDB 7.46). That's all for the honorable mentions of 2021. 10. Ren'ai Karichaimashita (VNDB 7.27) If you look at Sankaku Ren'ai (developed by the same company and localized by Nekonyan), you know what to expect from Karichaimashita here. As a reminder, it's the comedy with a love triangle that's not as dramatic as White Album 2 (WA2), and we'll have it here. Karichaimashita is about our MC, Yuki, who keeps thinking about how money is the only thing that makes his little sister happy, thanks to his family's unique circumstances that forced Yuki to be the family's breadwinner. So, of course, he'll keep working for money if his sister can be happy, so much so that he calls himself having a Sister Complex. One day, Yuki saw a job advertisement for a company that allows clients to have fake relationships; the job is quite common in Japan, as shown in the infamous Kanojo Okarishimasu manga. While the job is highly suspicious, Yuki decides to apply anyway since it offers the high pay he desperately needs. Little did he know back then that he would keep involved with the clients, which in turn allowed him to start a relationship with one of the clients, and here we're going to have four and a half routes because, while technically there are five heroines, two of those heroines are the twin who's sharing Yuki. 9. Primal x Hearts (VNDB 7.35) Shiravune released several interesting visual novels in 2021, one of those VNs being Marmalade's Primal Hearts series. While it's inevitable because we also have Study Steady (another Marmalade VN) localized by them, it's still nice to see they license the Primal Hearts series. The series features a school with two student councils and an even number of students, thus ensuring a deadlock situation every time a vote happens. The MC's role in the series is as the hope to break the deadlock because he's the 777th student, hence his Three Sevens nickname. So, both councils inevitably approach the MC to persuade him to join one of the councils to have whichever side has the MC win the future votes. While I understand that the second Primal Hearts here has received some improvements, I list the first one here because the Primal Hearts series reminds me of the Lunar series, with both Lunar and Primal Hearts developers improving their second game. So the first Primal Hearts here should make a nice parallel with the first Lunar, and I know it's quite a stretch to compare Lunar and Primal Hearts, seeing that both series have a lot of differences anyway. 8. Sugar * Style (VNDB 7.40) Compared to other translated Smee VNs (HaremKingdom and Making Lovers) with unique MCs, Sugar Style here didn't have the MC become a king in a different world or already be working. But instead, our MC has just started his college life. For the premise, we have Kazuki (MC's default name), whose parents fled and left him with debts while also being deceived by an evil woman. So, after a string of bad luck, he turns the page by entering the college with the dormitory, which his cousin manages, only to find out that the dormitory is for females. Then Kazuki accidentally stumbles into a perverted situation. Thus, his relationship with the female residents, the heroines, has a rocky start. However, as per Smee VN, Kazuki will gradually get closer to the heroines. He'll then enter a relationship with one of the four heroines in the original version (which Nekonyan localized) and with the two additional heroines, including Kazuki's cousin, in the untranslated console version (that does not have sex scenes). Like other Smee VNs, besides obviously still having the usual comedy, it also has a mini fan disc, but we don't know if Nekonyan will localize it. 7. Dohna Dohna -Issho ni Warui Koto o Shiyou- (VNDB 7.89) After Shiravune brought the Primal Hearts series in July 2021, we have Dohna Dohna as another exciting license released by them in October 2021. Dohna Dohna, as in the latest gameplay VN by Alicesoft, which, as we know, is attempting to localize Evenicle 2 on their own (so perhaps Shiravune will localize Evenicle 2 later), as well as having a partnership with Mangagamer to localize the Rance series. For Dohna Dohna itself, while the graphic style resembles Persona 5, the story is more similar to FF7. In the story of Dohna Dohna, it has an outlaw group that lives in a city tightly controlled by a massive corporation. The group does everything it can, including robbing the facility related to the corporation, to fight them. While we usually think that the group is in the right, in this case, we can't exactly say that the group is better than the corporation morally because we have the group kidnapping several women to sell them as prostitutes to get money. Finally, while the graphics are quite colorful, it should go without saying that the content is quite dark, especially with the already mentioned prostitute and some disturbing sex scenes in the Bad Endings. 6. Rance Quest (VNDB 7.94) After some time of waiting (11 years for the ones who play fan translations of Sengoku Rance and 17 months for the ones who play the Mangagamer version), we finally have Rance Quest released in English. As for the story, after Rance encountered a problem in Sengoku Rance, he decided to find a way to resolve his situation. Of course, Rance being Rance, his inability to control his libido caused trouble, and he's been struck with a curse by a woman with whom he had sex. Said curse renders any woman who has sex with Rance weakened, as well as making Rance not able to have sex with weaker women, so there will be many restrictions on Rance's having sex. Facing the situation, rather than trying to find a way to remove the curse quickly, Rance decided to enjoy his life as much as possible. Of course, he'll do so by searching for many strong women so that he can have sex with them. Rance Quest is the eighth part of the Rance series that Alicesoft developed, and it's the breather episode with Rance doing a lot of quests that resemble the old RPG (hence the word "Quest"). For the video, because Rance Quest didn't have the opening, I'll use its PV video. 5. Musicus (VNDB 8.02) When Overdrive worked on this VN, which was planned as their last VN before they went with the Virtual Youtuber stuff, they found themselves without enough funds to develop the VN. So, they did the crowdfund to get the funds, and as a result, they managed to gather 130 million yen. According to what I've seen, Musicus has been well received, with some calling it a thought-provoking VN if we borrow the late Conjueror's word, though whether that's true is up to each person. But I know for sure that in Musicus, we have Kei, who is currently in a dilemma regarding his future after encountering the difficulties of becoming a doctor like his father. Of course, as per Overdrive MC, Kei finds himself drawn to the music after watching a concert. From there, he does his best to perform in a band after being suggested by a band leader. Unlike the writer's previous Overdrive VN, which also focused on the music band (Kira Kira), in this one, the writer shows what would happen if one made a band for a living, which turned out to be quite an ordeal. Since Musicus didn't have an opening, I'll use the ending credit of Yako's route for the video below. 4. Kin'iro Loveriche (VNDB 8.18) Kini'iro Loveriche, aka Kinkoi, is the first translated Saga Planet VN that Nekonyan localized. With that, we finally have Saga Planet VN translated, which defies people's belief that it's impossible to see it happen, especially with several failed Saga Planet VN translation projects we've had in the past (Hanasaki Work Spring, Hatsuyuki Sakura). As for Kinkoi, the premise here is that Ouro carried Princess Sylvie (her full name is too long) in Princess Carry (how appropriate), which obviously would alert her bodyguards because it made Ouro look like he had kidnapped the princess. Since Ouro himself caught Sylvie's attention, she had arranged for Ouro to attend the school with her. While the premise suggested that this is just a comedy VN with rich people as heroines, it turned out that there's more to Kinkoi than meets the eye, particularly regarding the story of one of the heroines. The VN also has a fan disc, Golden Time, with two routes for the side heroines, after stories for each heroine (including the side one), and an alternate ending for a specific heroine. Just in case you're asking if the fan disc will be licensed or not, Nekonyan has already licensed it, and so far, the translation work on it is going pretty well. 3. 9 -Nine- Yukiiro Yukihana Yukinoato (VNDB 8.59) I said the serial release is not ideal for releasing a VN. But after I read one of the reviews about Nine, perhaps going serial here is the best way to make the writer, Kazuki Fumi, build up the story arc because not all writers can make the complete story arc from the beginning. That said, I'm still not a fan of serial release. In Episode 4, after Kakeru gets close to the other heroines, Miyako, Sora, and Haruka, in the previous episodes while investigating the incidents in the city, this time Kakeru gets close to Noa. More importantly, Kakeru finally confronts a person who's been causing the incidents after getting some help from an unexpected fellow. While there's Shinshou, aka New Episode, which is said to be the sequel to Episode 4, the New Episode is more like the fan disc than the sequel. The New Episode contents are the after stories for the heroines with some wrap-up for the story, so Episode 4 here is the grand finale for the Nine series itself. Izumi Tsubasu is still in charge of the design, so we still have her beautiful drawings. Sekai did well on this by releasing four episodes of Nine within two years, contrasting with when they needed three years to release two VN of the ReLord trilogy. 2. Soukou Akki Muramasa (VNDB 8.95) We knew JAST got the license for Muramasa back in 2012 when one of TLWiki's users, Makoto, became the translator for JAST. JAST being JAST, we didn't see them give us many updates on Muramasa, so people decided to give up on it. At least until July 2021, when JAST abruptly announced that Muramasa would be released shortly, and with their new pace, JAST did manage to release it in August 2021. For the premise, we have an alternative world where Japan (ruled by the Rokuhara shogunate with an iron fist and has unique warriors called musha) has a roaming monster that terrorizes the country by killing many people. Enter Kageaki with his eyes set on it, and then he hunts it down. While usually, we would say that Kageaki is the hero, one should remember the arc word, "This is not a story of the heroes." So, of course, Kageaki will make many horrible decisions to achieve the goal. Since the writer, Narahara Ittetsu, did write both Hanachirasu and Muramasa, with the former having a lot of deaths, sure enough, Muramasa has tons of people dying left and right. Besides that, Narahara here also provides some writing that can be thought-provoking. 1. White Album 2 (VNDB 8.99) I still remember in 2011 when my roommate listened to the WA2 Closing Chapter opening, and obviously, there was no translated version of it back then. The Todokanai group worked hard to translate WA2, but it took years to finish because of its length. After several years of work, they finally released the full translation patch on December 22nd of last year (2021), making it a nice early Christmas gift from them. For the premise, we have Haruki, who is searching for additional light music club members to perform at the school festival. He manages to get two girls, Setsuna and Kazusa, to participate. Haruki had no idea at the time that he would become embroiled in a dramatic love triangle that would last into his adulthood, and it would be pretty messy, given that each involved person had numerous flaws. WA2 here is Maruto Fumiaki's last VN before he moves on to write the light novel (Saekano). As I said, Maruto wrote each character like in Damekoi, but he focused more on two heroines (Setsuna and Kazusa) instead of just one like in Damekoi (Mitoko). As for the video, I used the Closing Chapter opening because the VNDB page of this used to be the page for the Closing Chapter VNDB entry. That's all for my list of translated visual novels released in 2021. To conclude, 2021 is pretty much an exciting year, with two of the most well-received VNs (Muramasa and WA2) getting translated so we can finally play them in English. Lastly, with JAST's new strategy, which is to release the download version first to quicken the releases, I look forward to what they can do in 2022. Of course, I also look forward to what the other companies can do in 2022, especially regarding Nekonyan and Shiravune, seeing both of them manage to release several interesting visual novels in 2021. PS - For the title, I combined the words "winter" (the WA2 season motif) and "musha" (the unique warrior in Muramasa), resulting in "The Winter Musha," which is similar to one of Captain America's films (The Winter Soldier).1 point -
Visual novel predictions on Manifold
masster_auron reacted to Tulip for a topic
Visual novels are fun. Trying to predict the future is also fun. Therefore, I've been trying to build up a community of people trying to predict the future specifically on the topic of visual novels! More specifically, there's a site, Manifold, whose core thing is crowdsourced predictions: everyone who joins gets a bunch of play-money (to be clear: fake internet money, not real currency); they can bet it on predictions regarding what might happen in the future; those bets get aggregated into estimates of how likely the bet-upon future events are, based on what odds people are willing to bet at; and then, once the future events come around and the true answers become clear, people who were better at predicting future events' likelihood tend to get more returns on their bets, gaining more play-money and making their way up the site leaderboards. It's fun! So I've been creating a bunch of questions-open-for-people-to-bet-on related to visual novels there! Examples include: Will Ciconia: When They Cry Phase 2 be released by the end of 2025? How soon after the release of Fate/stay night Remastered will there be a working fan-patch to re-add the sex scenes? What route order will be enforced in Tsukihime -The other side of red garden-? ...et cetera. (There are a bunch more, ~all listed on the site's Visual Novels topic page.) Currently, Manifold doesn't seem to have very much visual novel fan-community-presence. Not many people there are asking visual-novel-related questions, and not many people are betting on the ones that are asked. But it seems to me that there's lots of potential for more! There are lots more VNs about which interesting questions can be asked than just the ones I personally take enough interest in to open questions about on the site; there are lots more VN-fans who might have good predictive insights on the questions already open; et cetera. So I figure it's worth pointing people at the site from here, as an attempted step towards building a relatively-more-robust VN-fan-community there.1 point -
Survey to assess the importance of VN elements
kushidadousaku reacted to Clephas for a topic
Umm... just to be clear, it was apparent that some of the questions were not really a good fit, since there is no gameplay in a straight visual novel except clicking and making choices... Also, I think most people who have played an AI-generated VN will say they produce nothing but trash *winces at the bad memories* Asking about non-universal (or at least uncommon) features as part of a survey about the importance of certain features will probably only confuse any results you receive...1 point -

[Gemini] Walkure Romanze More&More | (v0.7) Akane Route done!
NookGaming reacted to Vanad for a topic
Well, let me correct myself a little. I don't have technical expertise in this field. I have some coding (really beginner level) skills and can manage some issues... not complicated ones thou. But this translation going rather smoothly, maybe I just got lucky with my primary language (I'll explain further) and existing tools. First of all, I just asked DeepSeek about what I need to translate this particular game and what resources I can read. It correctly identified QLIE, and gave me possible tools to work with game files. Also, linked me this article, on russian (my primary language) about QLIE, that helped. It explained a little about tools for working with the engine and some innerwokings of it. A couple days of trying things, reading forums, github issues and asking DeepSeek what to do, I managed to extract, change and pack scenario text back into the game. Tool for packing is arc_conv by w8m, which has decent documentation, but again, on russian. So, game files shenanigans are over and I could proceed with translation. I have a friend who translating korean web novels on russian using Gemini. He gave me his promt and I modified it for jap-eng translation of visual novel. Then goes a couple of days of trying to befriend Gemini and script files, to get results needed minimal editing, by this point promt became 1,5 times larger. Then I added some setting and characters descriptions into the promt, because translation was inconsistent without it. It still has some junk, but not as much. Promt was corrected throughout work process and I still think it's incomplete, tbh. I didn't use any API, because aistudio can work with a lot (~1m) of tokens in it's web interface. So it was just tedious process of copying file content to a txt changing ShiftJIS Encoding into UTF8, because LLM don't understand ShiftJIS, and copying the result back. It was 280 files, the work took me about a week. After that I'm just reading and correcting minor neuro junk, like untraslated parts, names or corrupted script (not common ocurance, but it happens). I think this process could be a lot easier for someone who knows what they're doing, but I'm still pleased with the result. I hope I satisfied your interest, if you have any more questions - ask, I will be happy to answer. I get what you're saying, but result are surprisingly decent, in my opinion. Much more readable and consistent than sugoivisualnovel translation for example. Gemini can get context of the whole scene and can use characters descriptions from promt. Also if there is some questionable moment, again, you can correct it in promt. Another lucky moment for me, Google released latest version of Gemini just a couple days before I started translating, I believe it had positive impact on the result. Anyway, It will be really cool for someone give it a read and share their thoughts about this translation.1 point -

I think I won't finish Kimi ni Steady While I love character design of some heroines, I liked the one route I finished, and I'd like to see some of the other heroines' routes - the dating sim gameplay is sooo tedious. What's worse, there's no clear walkthrough, conditions to trigger routes can be tricky, and the only guide that's available online for this game seems to have mistakes (or the game is partially random)... So I'm on the verge of dropping it.1 point -

I've spent quite a lot on VN's, somewhere in the range of 10k USD in the past two years, almost entirely on the games themselves, some of which I have bought physical versions of, but nearly no merchandise. The good news for you being in Brazil at least is that Steam and JAST at least - I'm unsure about Denpasoft and MangaGamer - have regional pricing, so the pricing will be more appropriate for you. The bad news is that anything you want that is only available in Japan is going to feel a lot more expensive to you, so stuff like fan translations and reading in Japanese is going to be rough. Also, not everyone is going to vibe with everything that is out for visual novels, and that's fine. I'd recommend going on vndb.org, creating an account, and looking up some stuff by tags to see what else you may like. You can even sort down by only those available in English for instance. There's 10 mainline Rance games for instance (10 is still being worked on), so there's quite a lot just in that series. We also have a recommendations forum if you wanted to ask for recommendations once you get a better feel for it, cause right now the recommendations based off just Rance and Katawa Shoujo would be immense. Anyway, thanks for joining the community, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions or anything, I hope you enjoy your stay.1 point -

Hatsuyuki Sakura and The Shell Part I
masster_auron reacted to Okarin for a topic
Hatsusaku is Yuu Niijima's masterpiece. In the West we have fragmentary knowledge of his work, but Hatsusaku is way better and focused, and hits harder than the likes of Majo Koi Nikki ("The witch's diary"). Yuu has notably written for Key, but his input was reduced to like one route a game. In Hatsusaku, he has the chance to shine. Hatsusaku shines for the melancholic, nostalgic winter ambience (play it and you'll see), but it's festooned everywhere with comedy (sometimes, even often, of sexual nature). If I have to mention a poor spot, it's the heroines. They're not that attractive, and instead serve to move the plot forward in a satisfying way. With everything you piece together during the 30-something hour gameplay, you get a full picture of the city of Uchida-Kawabe and its atmosphere. I don't know why, but winter VNs have the potential to be the most touching, I don't know what the season has but it's very emotional. In the end, spring comes for everyone. Or that's what I like to think.1 point -

Rainbow Dragon reacted to kushidadousaku for a topic
I'm not here to disappoint you, but the steam version of Saya no Uta is made with the 'Diesel Engine' which is a really weird engine. I've tried messing with it before as well but the files just can't be extracted by normal means, you need reverse engineering in order to: extract, repack, or do anything to those files. I still don't know why they changed the engine from N2system to Diesel. But you can still try to translate the original one (yes it does not support win10 but I think you can find a solution for that) It's been a while since I tried to edit those files though. Maybe they made a tool for this. And sorry for not being very helpful.1 point -

Since this post, I have finished my reread of Adventure of a Lifetime. As for Livestream 2, I am slowly making progress through it. My college classes keep making me busy with assignments. Fortunately, I did start another VN titled Sakura: The Jirai-kei Magical Girl. So far, it is decent. My biggest problem with it is that I only like 1 of the 3 main characters. The protagonist is fine as he will probably end up being another blank slate male protagonist. As for Sakura, she might have a good design, but I do not like her personality. She is a lazy shut-in who eats a lot and does not know what showers are. Did the writers think that the reader would be fine with a character like this because it is a girl with a nice design? I'll post a review of Adventure of a Lifetime here in the future. For now, I will say that it is just as good as I remembered it. Even though many of my thoughts on this VN did not change, I still enjoyed going through it again.1 point -

Revived the thread a bit again because we have two Alicesoft games released in 2025, with Ixseal was released a month ago and currently Rance 03 is now available in English (Both are obviously released by Mangagamer). Oh yes, a fan released Galzoo Island patch last year, so you can now play the game that Aroduc dropped in English. We also have both Daiakuji fan translation project and Yoru ga Kuru Remake announcement, although there's no release date for both with only the latter has the estimation release in this year.1 point -

Atlas722 reacted to kushidadousaku for a topic
I don't know what do you mean exactly by "dark", but there is a VN in my mind might match. You can take a look at: Suteki na Kanojo no Tsukurikata: https://vndb.org/v29404 It's not the best VN if we look at the overall rating, but It is quite interesting. If you're looking for a "sickening dark psychological" story and atmosphere, then give it a shot. Don't raise your expectations though.1 point -
I'm now done with editing the first Yui arc at 89% complete with the whole script, and less than 4,000 lines left to check in the final arc, which shouldn't take that long hopefully. Finishing up the editing of the images will then be the next priority so a beta patch can be compiled and tested.1 point
-
And now with the editing of Nagisa's arc complete, the script is about 66% of the way done with about 12K lines left to go. Not much else to say other than I appreciate the comments and encouragement to finish this project. It's already been a year since this project began and I'm looking forward to sharing it with others.1 point

Yui 2 is the true ending and directly continues from Yui 1 storywise. Since it also focuses on Yui, I just called it Yui 2 for simplicity. No poll, only because (if there is going to be a next project) it would have to be something I would already be interested in working on, considering how much time and effort goes into producing these patches. You're still free to make suggestions if you want, since there could be some game out there I'm not aware of that I could deem worthwhile to do a patch for at some point. For now, I'm just trying to focus on getting this patch out.1 point

I had to pause the project for a bit, but it is still very much alive and I have been making steady progress on it recently, even finishing the editing for Airi's arc and I'm about a third of the way through Nagisa's arc currently, with 51% of the script edited. I will be aiming to complete the editing process before the end of next month, and then the QC process will begin. So at this point in time, I believe a release of the full patch by sometime in March is very doable and is a goal I plan on achieving, especially considering the extended break over the last few months. I'll be aiming to make some more frequent updates as I complete the editing for each arc in the coming weeks.1 point

Does anyone know any VNs with dark tones?
Atlas722 reacted to littleshogun for a topic
Well, if you're looking for some VN with some depressing contents, then perhaps you can try Fata Morgana if you still didn't play it yet. Other than that, perhaps you can try Tsui no Sora Remake, Dead End Aegis, or Gore Screaming Show, although note that those three VNs have disturbing contents if that's bother you. I don't know if you're already play those or not, but regardless I hope my recommendations will be helpful to you.1 point -
SRPG – Uncovering The VN Hybrid
Pallas_Raven reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
There are many to comment when it come to SRPG, so let me try it here. Well sometimes simple is the best, because if SRPG has too much gimmick (Mechanic Distinctiveness) it may ended up become very confusing for the new players, and I speak from my experience as someone who confused when I tried FFT (Which is the standard of modern SRPG) with I ended up stuck in the 4th story battle (And then I decided to delete the game). SRPG can also have dating sim element like Luminous Arc trilogy, in which while the game has gimmick the battle system itself is simple enough. Also for blending it with VN like narrative, well it's more or less given seeing most SRPG didn't have much walking around like usual RPG. For the second point, I always think on how Eushully did good job on facilitate the large number of characters in Kamidori in combat, and yet the roster is still fewer than Chrono Cross. For comparison, the first playthrough of Kamidori have 16 characters while first playthrough of Chrono Cross have almost 40 characters with the latter didn't have SRPG gameplay thus making some characters become underplayed. It's even worse when you consider Chrono Cross staffs only limit the characters into three people (With Serge as the permanent party member) while Kamidori didn't necessarily forced Wil to be deployed in every stage. Speaking of large group combat, Arterial as the next Eushully game after Kamidori did it better on that front even though it's card game, mainly because you can have all the duelists gain all of the experiences at once and every card in the deck (Up to 30 cards) can gain experience even if it's not played. For the first point, arguably we can say on why all of SRPG have war stories is started from Fire Emblem in which it's about an exiled prince who start the war against the one who conquered his own country, and seeing it's very popular naturally the developer make the SRPG variant based on it. It also help that SRPG are usually harder than normal RPG, and thus it give the player feeling like they're the tactician if they manage to pull out the win, which Fire Emblem staffs realize seeing the player need to be very smart to have all of their allies keep alive until the end of the game seeing the older Fire Emblem keep the dead party member remain dead (The modern one circumvent it by making Easy Mode revive all fallen allies after the stages ended). About Utawarerumono, the original game is kind of difficult if only because there's no much opportunities to do some grinding, and Aquaplus fixed the problem in the next two games and the remake of the first game. Oh yes, Digimon Survive creator was inspired by Utawarerumono gameplay, so if you wonder why it has SRPG gameplay despite it would be fine if it's in RPG form, there you have the answer (Besides saving cost for the walking animations in the area obviously). That's all for what I can comment in regard of SRPG.1 point -
Dark Fantasy – Genre Deep Dive
Pallas_Raven reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Well obviously dark fantasy is what people usually call as edgy, and in light novel it's usually the one that has revenge story. Obviously this type story would be too bleak for some people, although obviously it would be very engaging to follow until the end in order to see whether the casts can earn their happy ending or not in the bleak setting. Of course though, the writer should try their best to balancing the character development and breather in the midst of dark story, because after all almost nobody would want the story become bleak from the beginning to the end so much it make the story become not engaging at all. Oh yes, it's quite interesting most of translated otome has dark story, which is quite ironic compared to the male oriented VNs that have much lighter stories. Speaking of otome, actually what we saw in light novel with the genre 'Reincarnated as Villainess' is really misrepresent otome game, because most of the story in the light novel are mostly have kingdom setting with the villainess is not really prominent in otome VNs, and the reason why the author use otome game is probably because the author only understand otome is the counterpart of usual VNs where the female can date more than one handsome characters (To further make the counterpart with isekai harem novel) with the author can only refer shoujo manga when it come to make the in-universe otome VN. That aside, most otome VNs are only available on console, so it's too bad if you want to play those and only have PC or laptop. Forgot to mention usually dark fantasy VNs have some rape, which make sense as the way to instill the bleakness into the reader. For the prominent example, besides Maggot Bait there's euphoria with it has nice song along with surprisingly nice story beneath the disturbing sex scenes. Obviously the story should be the main draw, although obviously most people would prefer to avoid the rape altogether. Speaking of rape, there's Mugen Renkan with the female MC will suffer a lot of rape, which in hindsight make it closer to the otome when one think hard about it. Of course there's more than rape in Mugen Renkan, because it tell the story about the immortal female MC who did her best to find happiness in her immortality. That's all for what I can write in regard of this topic.1 point -
VN on laptop
Cyberfriend reacted to LostPomegranate for a topic
Almost all new laptops will run VN's and movies without an issue - but I'd recommend Windows / Microsoft as you'll run into compatibility issues with VN's and Mac's / Apple's. Usually the only issues with movies is having the right program / codecs, but that's solved by software. Regarding VN's, the best way to be completely sure would be to print off recommended specs of a few and take it to the store with you and ask the employee, or you could ask on reddit or discord with some more details like your budget, what screen size you'd prefer, etc. If it helps I think the general type of laptop you're looking for is known as a "Multimedia laptop". You could even get away with a true budget laptop if you don't plan on using it for more than 2-3 years and don't mind it being a bit slower / less multitasking ability.1 point -
For your specific question and a generic answer : saving when the choices pop up and then going back to choose other options would be the way to go most of the time for many VNs. As it can get convoluted with some VNs, try to structure your choices well and give them a short evocative name/label if the game allows it. As you said, it wouldn't be surprising to end up with a lot of saves, especially with Clannad, that's probably why most VNs allow dozens of numbered saves. Now my true and longer answer for Clannad : I've always thought Clannad stands out even from a lot of other VNs of the same era by the sheer number of choices and how much convoluted the choices you have to make to attain certain ends are, added to the high number of ends, especially if you count all the minor ends (others than main heroins, and you should definitely count them for Clannad). As such, here is my advice for Clannad (but honestly it applies to most titles even if there is less choices) : - either use a walkthrough from the start and thus save when the walkthrough asks you to save and whenever you feel like. Most people wouldn't have their fun spoiled just by using a walkthrough for a romance/slice of life VN anyway. - or play it by saving whenever and choosing whatever you feel like choosing for the first 1, 2, 3 or whatever runs/ends you feel like, and then follow a walkthrough. This way intends to let you taste the VN as it was intended (including not being happy about not ending on the desired route for example) coupled with the benefits of not pushing it too far by ending up using a walkthrough. I know that way would be the better way for me with Clannad, but Clannad is especially long and that could make its reading even longer. One last point though for Clannad : whatever you choose to do, I suggest you keep Nagissa's route for last, whether you like her or not, as her route continues in Clannad part2 in the main VN.1 point

Heartvania: Symphony of the Daybreak Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for being very late here. For the title since we have Tokimeki Memorial released and that the writer is Igarashi Koji who is known for writing Castlevania franchise, I decided to parody the most famous game of said franchise, Symphony of the Night, by changing 'Castle' into 'Heart' (From the Heartthrob at the translated title) and 'Night' into 'Daybreak' because we finally have Tokeijikake Daybreak released in near future, so we have 'Heartvania Symphony of the Daybreak' as the title. As for this week, well let's just say that it's quite interesting seeing that Sekai did give us several updates along with two new projects, although release wise there's no much compared to the last week. In the end, this week is pretty much average one and let's see what I can write about it. Finally we have Aoi Tori fully translated, and for the info the source is from Nekonyan's Discord. That said though just because it's fully translated doesn't mean that it's almost ready for the release, seeing that there's still so much work to be done on it such as the remaining editing work, the engine work in regard of porting it to Unity, the QA, and finally setting up the store front (Including waiting for Valve's review) before finally ready for the release. Speaking of waiting for the review, turned out that Dokyuusei Remake need more time to get the review done so unfortunately Shiravune need to delay the release of it, although that said the new release date should be still at this year. We also have Yumemi Dreamer 8th chapter released, and Ninetails announced the exact release date for Frontier mini fandiscs in which it'll be at 25th later. As for Tokimeki Memorial release, it's been released by a fan translation group. What I can say is I did remember that I show some interest with the game seeing that it's said as the most popular dating sim in the article that mention it back at 15 years ago (I forgot the detail), although nowadays I can only say that the graphic is quite outdated for an obvious reason (It's 1994 VN after all). Still if you show some interest into playing historical dating sim, go play Tokimeki Memorial at SNES emulator and have fun. For other updates from fan translation, we have both of Taimanin Kurenai and Arcueid's route of Tsukihime Remake fully translated, 93% original lines of Summer Pockets were reworked, Chaos Head Noah was at 24.27% TLC-ed along with 13.95% edited, Yoshitsune's route of Majikoi A-5 has 20 scripts worked on, Harugi was at 55% edited, and Senmomo was at 37.14% edited with side stories was at 29.34% edited. Like I say earlier we finally have the exact release date for Daybreak (Tokeijikake second part for the reminder), and it'll be at 18th later. Let's just hope that after this Sekai won't need long time to finally released Morning Mist there (Last part of Tokeijikake trilogy). For Sekai other updates, we have both of Harvest Festa and Imouto no Seiiki was at 80% translated, and Yumeiro was at halfway translated along with 20% edited. For the first new project we have Sekai localized Usokara Hajimaru Koi no Natsu (Usonatau), and from what I can see it's GL VN that'll be released at this year along with has same staffs as Fatal Twelve, so at least I can expect some nice graphic from it. The second is Nine Shinshou in which it's unsurprisingly their secret project, and they already have it ready for the release with the exact date is the same day as Daybreak release (At 18th later). While I did say that it's more or less just the fandisc for the whole Nine series, at least it should be nice to get if one want more Nine and Tsubasu's art. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -

These are the folks behind the modern Katawa Shoujo Re-Engineered, which you might call a remaster of the old classic Katawa Shoujo. This group had the goal to recreate Katawa Shoujo with Renpy8.0 codebase, Accessibility Features, upscaled graphics and other things that the modern game engines would offer, so they made it reality! If you want to hang out with the folks behind this remastered version, you can check out their website and their discord server! They inexhaustively work that Katawa Shoujo can be both accessed and enjoyed by everyone in its new form. We also held an interview with their chief, Local Man. Kurumi x Wataru Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have Hello Lady released I reused the coupling in the title that I used all the way back when Hello Lady was announced by Nekonyan in 2018 (The VNTS Review in question). Obviously Wataru here is still because his VA (Okitsu Kazuyuki) is the one who voiced our Hello Lady MC Narita, while for Kurumi here is because we have Eri Sendai voiced Saku (Main heroine of Hello Lady) and as we know in Precure we have Sendai voiced one of the YPC5 duology character (Milk in which she has human form called Kurumi). Granted that Toei didn't make the crossover movie with both Wataru and Kurumi did interact in any capacity, but it shouldn't stop some fans to pair them if they want lol. Anyway as for this week I can say that it's quite exciting with a number of the releases with two of most notable one to me are Kamiyaba and the aforementioned Hello Lady. Other than the releases, we also have some updates from fan translation and Sekai along with Evenicle 2 exact release date announcement. Let's see what I can write in regard of the exciting week here. Cherry Kiss did released their nukige, and I can only say that have fun if you interested with it along with already tried it. We also have JAST did release Kurokami in which as we know it's Minato Carnival VN with the premise of titular Kurokami tell the MC (Domaru) to hunt youkai in his stead, and Domaru also can end in a death if Kurokami find out that Domaru do even the slightest mistake. Go get Kurokami if you're in the mood to read some new Minato-soft VN, and have fun (Also it's all age VN so no sex scenes with Kurokami here). By the way after I do some research on Takahiro (The writer), turned out that he's indeed quite capable of writing something dark as we can see in both of Akame ga Kill (Almost all of the casts are dead by the end of the story) and Yuuki Yuuna (It's ending is still lighter compared to Madoka though), so it shouldn't be surprising that Takahiro can write some VNs with dark story such as Waka-sama and now Kurokami here. Sekai did manage to release Nekogami, and turned out they release it on GOG. What I can say about Nekogami is that it's about short VN with the MC along with his sister suffer a curse because of an accident, and after I see some tag on VNDB turned out Nekogami is not as light as it looks even though it's from same developer as Kemomusu. Go get Nekogami if you interested with it, and have fun. I'm more interested with Amatsutsumi though in which perhaps we may have Sekai release it in GOG as well (Because Nekogami was also banned from Steam), and seeing that they already sent the build to Valve perhaps it mean that Amatsutsumi is already ready for the release so that we may have it in the near future. For Sekai's updates, we have Amairo Chocolata 2 was at halfway edited, Harvest Festa was at 60% translated, Yumeiro was at 40% translated along with 10% edited, and the first secret project was in QA. As for Nope Nope Nurses Steam version, turned out that Shiravune decided to withdrew the VN from Johren thus delayed Steam version release indefinitely. I don't know when they'll manage to release it, but hopefully Shiravune can release it sometimes in the future. Almost forgot to mention that we have Mangagamer did release Genesis, and well if you want more Trinoline because it has beautiful drawing of big breast heroines have a number of sex scenes go get it from Steam and have fun. No mention on Mangagamer's next release, but perhaps it was covered by Evenicle 2 release in which Alicesoft finally manage to work on the release date at February 22nd later (The tweet in regard of it) because it'll be sold on Mangagamer later along with other stores (JAST, Fakku, Johren, Nutaku), so you may note the date if you interested with Evenicle 2 later. For fan translation, we have Eustia's update in which based on this thread post I'll change the calling here, and in this case we have it at 94.17% in programming with Licia's chapter was at 69.03% in programming. For other updates we have Loverable was at 99.94% translated along with 99.93% edited (So close), Mahoyo was at 71.23% edited, 88.8% original lines of Summer Pockets was reworked, Taimanin Kurenai was 70% proofread, and Chicchakunai Mon was at 88.77% translated. We also have the updates for Tsukihime Remake, in which we have Ciel Day 6 was fully translated along with Arcueid Day 10 and 11 also have some progress (36% and 56% translated respectively), and lastly we have Arcueid Day 6 was already both fully TLC (Translation Check) and edited. As for Kamiyaba here, turned out that Shiravune did manage to get this released on Steam (The store link) at 27th later. As for Kamiyaba itself, once again it's about the MC Hajime who has been bought the charm for good romance too much because he want to have the romance, and as the result he was approached by the goddess of marriage Urara who tell Hajime that his fate is unstable because of the charms. Thus Urara gave Hajime ultimatum to have lover within one year or else he'll be virgin for the rest of his live, and Urara also give Hajime three possible candidates with outlandish setting (Japan prime minister's daughter, popular idol, and great detective). Obviously Hajime journey to have romance won't be easy, but of course he'll trying to get his goal as much as possible. While you can get Steam version later, you can get Kamiyaba if you want to play this right now and have fun (It's only available in Johren as of now). Finally after three and half year of waiting since the announcement we have Nekonyan released Hello Lady, although turned out it still has mosaic because the rightsholder for Hello Lady was changed which in turn caused the change in regard of the license therefore it would be impossible to have it released without mosaic like Nekonyan promised (The post about the matter). While Nekonyan can negotiate it so that we can have no mosaic CG, obviously it's not worth to delay the release for the sake of a certain person who only care for no mosaic CG. Anyway for the premise we have Narita who is like boobs so much that he like to grab the boobs of the female even though obviously they won't like it, although behind his love for boobs he hid his real intention in which it's related to his own quest for revenge. As for the version that Nekonyan release, I can say it's the best one because it combined all of the available materials (Main game, FD, extra story from PSV version, and extra sex scenes). Go get Hello Lady if you interested with most well received Akatsuki Work VN, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Afterschool Titania Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have Mahoyo translation announced with the translated version will have voices along with that we have Houkago Cinderella new (Rough) patch released, I decided to make another VA parody in which the 'Titania' part is based on Aozaki Aoko's (Mahoyo MC for the reminder) VA, Tomatsu Haruka, one of her well known role in Sword Art Online as Asuna who at one point got called Titania (Granted that Asuna herself has some trauma in regard of the calling). As for the 'Afterschool' part, it's obviously the direct translation of 'Houkago'. Anyway as for this week I can say that it's more active compared to the last week, in which most of it come from several new projects in fan translation. Other than that we have Doukyuusei Remake release along with Frontwing manage to have exact release date for Hatsumira, so overall this week is an above average one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Good for Frontwing that they manage to do well on their Hatsumira build so they didn't encounter weird bug like at Sharin so that we have Hatsumira ready for the release, and for the exact release date it'll be at 29th later so if you've been looking forward to this you can note the date. For usual fan translation updates, we have Watamasu was at 33% in QA, Chicchakunai Mon was at 92.3% edited, 50 out of 141 script files of Mizuha's route from Ginharu was translated, Senmomo was at 49.20% edited with Chapter 3 was at 62.36% edited, Ruitomo was at 8.99% translated (Common route was at 39.68% translated) along with 2.52% edited, 111 out of 138 script files of Nagomibako was edited, 3 out of 37 script files of Tsukikana's common route was translated, and Eustia was at 95.78% in programming with Licia's chapter was at 77.59% in programming. We have a new project for with the goal to translate Fuyu Kiss, although that said the person who work on it only reveal the progress on VNDB. In regard of it I decided to keep my eyes on it for a while, and for the info Fuyu Kiss here is one of GIGA VN that has usual moege setting unlike their Baldr series. Oh yes we already have some progress on it, and currently it's been at 40% translated along with 1% edited. We also have new translation project for Caucasus in that it's another VN from Innocent Grey with mystery element along with some good drawing, so at least you can expect usual good (And bloody) graphic although apparently Caucasus here is not as good as Kara no Shoujo trilogy (At least you can still expect some detective gameplay in there because there'll be murder case). Anyway as for the progress it's been fully translated and image edited, although right now they did several works on it (Programming, editing, TLC, and QC) before finally have it ready for the release. In regard of Houkago Cinderella patch, this time we have the patch that translate Tanomi's route along with Youka's and common routes so you can get it if you want to play Tanomi's route. That said it's still rough one though, so obviously the patch is still not have some proper editing (Like Yosuga no Sora). Anyway as for the next plan, the team will translate Tsukishi's route although of course the plan can be changed in the future. Lastly we have Doukyuusei Remake released in which it's a very old VN that was released way back at 1992, so if I may be blunt here there's no much heroines story compared to usual nowadays moege/charage. That said though, it make sense if back at 1992 the people only focused on getting the girl in the game instead of hearing the heroines story, although of course Doukyuusei itself is quite influential if we consider the original release year in which it said to invent dating sim genre (Although obviously nowadays it's hard to see on how influential Doukyuusei back then). At least the dialogue in Doukyuusei has some humor in there, so perhaps you can try it if you're in the mood for comedic writing (Also if you want to try the old VN) and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and see you next week.1 point -
Temptation of Stormy Sword Deity Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for being very late here. As for the title since we have Onee-chan no Yuuwaku (Translated as Temptation of Older Sister) released I decided to make VA parody in regard of the VA (Momoi Ichigo), so we have 'Temptation of Stormy Sword Deity' as this week review title and for the info Stormy Sword Deity is the title for corrupted Tyrca of Venus Blood Frontier (Tyrca here has two different titles for her two different forms, and I chose her title for her corrupted form because it fit more with the word temptation) with Tyrca herself voiced by Momoi Ichigo as well. As for this week while release wise there's no much interesting thing, at least there're several interesting announcements. Overall this week is an average one even with some of the released title have interesting circumstances, and let's see what I can write about this week here. Love Lab did add one more secret project with the new project was at 10% translated while at the same time they also have their first secret project was at halfway translated. Turned out that my guess is right that the one who work on Jack Jeanne is Aksys, and they'll release it in the next year (ie 2023). Cherry Kiss announced another nukige with NTR, and it'll be released at 15th later. Finally we have Degica released 12th chapter of Yumemi Dreamers, and with this it mean that we have all part of Yumemi Dreamers released. If you want to read very usual magical girl that Kogado here did make it like Precure (It got the story where the mascot was cased by the cadres of the evil organization and then hand over the power to the chosen girl, although in here you'll play as the male best friend of the chosen girl), then go get it and have fun. Note that it also has rhythm and RPG gameplay, although from what I can see the latter is quite simple while for the former it's like Symphonic Rain (Same developer). Mangagamer did release Seventh Lair, and what I know is that it has Fata Morgana characters with different story in which I can only say that it's quite awkward (Granted that turned out it's April Fool release, so the awkwardness might be intentional). Other than that so far the reception of this is less favorable compared to Fata Morgana, but if you just want to see Fata Morgana casts in the new story then you can get Seventh Lair and have fun. Mangagamer announced their next release, and it's Uchi no Imouto that they'll release at 28th later. Speaking of release date Sekai announced that they'll release Neko-Mimi Sweet Housemates first volume at Friday (8th) later, and perhaps you can try it later if you like Eushully's drawing seeing that the artist did work on several Eushully VNs in the past. This week we have quite a number of fan translation updates, and in fact we also have Onee-chan no Yuuwaku released. But before going into it, let me make some roundup in regard of the updates. For the roundup we have Houkago Cinderella was at 40.52% translated, Chaos Head Noah was at 29.31% for both of TLC and editing progress, Ciel's route Day 13 of Tsukihime Remake was at 44% translated, Eustia was at 95.19% in programming with Licia's chapter was at 74.43% in programming, Taimanin Kurenai was at 90% edited, Shigure's route of Snow was at about 70% translated with the VN was overall at 96% translated, 2 out of 37 script files for Tsukikana's common route was translated, and Senmomo was at 45.02% edited with Chapter 3 was at 38.25% edited. As for Onee-chan no Yuuwaku, I did remember that it has Indonesian translation so this is the second VN that has English translation after the Indonesian translation was released, with the first one that I remember is Guilty Crown VN. The VN itself has a MC who has sister complex towards his older sister who is more or less a perfect student at his school, and luckily the older sister here is also has some brother complex so naturally they'll going to have some forbidden love between two blood related sibling. Or if you want to be blunt this is a nukige with single heroine (The elder sister) so if you want to play some blood related sibling nukige and prefer the elder one instead the younger one like Imopara, then go get the VN and have fun. Lastly we have some Ginharu progress, and this time we have 30 out of 141 script files for Mizuha's route was translated. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - Forgot to mention that we have new exact release date for Doukyuusei remake, and said date will be at 15th later. There's also new Ruitomo translation project as well, and I'll try to talk about more on this at next VNTS Review.1 point -
Blend Shinigami Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title since we have Cafe Stella release and the color of the uniform did remind me of Blend S (The manga that Sol Press only manage to publish one volume of it if you need reminder along with it had the anime adaptation, and that it has cafe setting as well) I decided to parodied it so we have 'Blend Shinigami' as this week review title with 'Shinigami' is from the full title of Cafe Stella (Cafe Stella to Shinigami no Chou). For this week, well let's just say that it's a nice one with Cafe Stella release along with Daybreak Translation decided continuing Ginharu translation. Other than those two interesting news, of course we still have some updates from fan translation as well, and also Venus Blood Frontier fandisc release if you're interesting with it. Overall once again it's another interesting week thanks to the number of the releases, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. Mangagamer did release UUUltra C back at 24th, and what I can say is that it has kaiju and sentai (ie Power Ranger) parody along with that it was produced by the same company who made the well received Hashihime, so you can get it if you like BL along with have the interest in the VN from same company as Hashihime there. Degica released the 11th chapter of Yumemi Dreamer, and with this only one more chapter to be released in order to have full release of Yumemi Dreamer there. As expected Ninetails released Venus Blood Frontier fandisc on time, so if you want to get more Frontier in regard of sex scenes then go get it and have fun (Personally I prefer Savior to be translated, but I guess it's not the time yet). We also have a nukige that has some NTR element will be released at May 27th later, so you can note the release date if you interested. Just in case you waiting for Slow Damage updates, currently JAST doing the second round of QA of it. We have Naisho no Jikan translation patch released in which it's the fan fiction of Kodomo no Jikan with the amped up the fanservice from the original work, and by that I mean it has very explicit sex scenes on the heroines that are basically still at 9 to 10 years old. You can get it in case you interested with lolicon contents (Just be responsible by not replicated the action in real life when you playing it), and have fun. For other updates we have Day 8 of Ciel's route in Tsukihime Remake was fully translated along with Day 13 was at 13% translated (How appropriate), Senmomo was at 43.37% edited with Chapter 3 was at 28.71% edited, Nursery Rhyme script insertion was 80% done, Onee-chan no Yuuwaku was almost finished the QA process, and Eustia was at 95.13% in programming with Licia's chapter was at 74.13% in programming. As for Ginharu, while this is obviously the good news that it resumed even with I'm didn't agree with some of the translator words, he still didn't sure if he'll translate the remaining 69.38% of Yuzuki's route (It's been already at 30.62% translated before Trip quit) seeing that he didn't like little sister character route, so he decided to translate Mizuha's route first in which currently he translate 2 out of 141 script files. I'll keep the progress like this instead of changing it into percentage, because tone work's VNs has different number of lines in each of script files and changing it into percentage won't necessarily reflect the real progress of Mizuha's route translation. The translator says that he'll finish within this year in regard of Mizuha's route, although it's still just estimation so don't expect much of it. Anyway the blog post in regard of it if you want to read more in detail. Unfortunately we have Clover Days was banned by Steam (I guess it explain on why there's no Alcot VN on Steam), so obviously it mean more setback to Nekonyan to finally have Clover Days released which frankly is quite suck. Here's hoping that they'll find a way to get around it, and this is like HGB in that the VN was also rejected before the release. Anyway let's go with Cafe Stella release, in which the people already guess that it'll be localized seeing that Yuzusoft going all the way to provide the English caption in their 4-koma video of it and obviously no VN companies would provided English caption in their video just for fun. As for the premise, it's about out MC Kousei who met his untimely death and encounter the grim reaper (Translation Note: Shinigami mean grim reaper) which somehow led him to work in the cafe because Kousei is still not exactly safe from his grim fate. Anyway go get Cafe Stella from either Steam, Mangagamer, JAST, Fakku, or Denpasoft, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - We also have a nukige with the premise of have sex with the older sister in law released along with Sekai did announce that they'll release little sister succubus nukige at this year, and what I can say is that those two releases are not my type. Have fun though if you interested with both of those, although obviously you need to wait for the little sister succubus nukige.1 point -
Tokeijikake no Meikyuu Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
For the title, because we have Tokeijikake Daybreak part released by Sekai and that it's the second part of the trilogy like Grisaia no Meikyuu, I parodied the latter so we have 'Tokeijikake no Meikyuu' as this week VNTS Review title. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review and as for this week I can say it's more active compared to the last week, with three notable updates at that (The aforementioned Tokeijikake Daybreak, Nine Shinshou, and uncensored patch of Aojashin). Other than the releases, we also have quite a number of the updates from fan translation. Overall this week is an interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week as well. I did forget to mention that Mangagamer already has the exact release date for Seventh Lair, and said date is at 31st later (I can only say that hopefully Mangagamer will increase their more interesting license in the future). We also have Yumemi Dreamer 10th chapter was released, and with this only two chapters left before finally we have the whole Yumemi Dreamer released. There's also an announcement in regard of an otome VN translation, and said VN is Jack Jeanne in which the female MC is basically reverse trap character who attend the all-boy school for acting while she need to hide her gender. No info in regard on who'll responsible for the localization process, but seeing that it's Switch VN safe to say that Aksys might be the one who will localize it later although they usually didn't translate the VN into Chinese language while the plan is to translate the VN into Chinese as well, so let's see whether it'll be true or not. This week we have Aojashin uncensored patch like I say beforehand and you can download it from this site, although said patch is only translate the sex scenes from the first case. Still if anything else at least the sex scenes successfully inserted into Steam version, so you can play Aojashin with several sex scenes translated and hopefully someone willing to translate the rest of the sex scenes in the future. We also have Tsuki's patch of Akagoei was released, so if you've been want to play Tsuki's route in Akagoei then you can try the patch and have fun. For the other updates fan translation updates, we have Harugi was at 59% edited, Onee-chan no Yuuwaku is currently undergoing QA, Taimanin Kurenai was at 80% edited, Houkago Cinderella was at 39.09% translated, 94.2% original lines of Summer Pockets were reworked, five routes of Snow were fully translated, Day 12 of Ciel route in Tsukihime Remake was fully translated, and Senmomo was at 41.86% edited with Chapter 3 was at 19.98% edited. We also have some updates from Sekai, although the updates is in regard of Seiiki VN with Imouto no Seiiki was fully translated and currently in editing, and they started the translation for Gakkou no Seiiki in which it's at 10% translated. For the releases, the first one is Nine Shinshou and for the premise it's more or less Nine series fandisc in which it resolved the remaining plot thread along with providing the after story for each of the heroines, so you can get it if you want to play more Nine. The second release is Tokeijikake Daybreak in which it need 51 months to finally have it released after the prequel was released, although to be fair it's because the engine of the VN is the one that was quite hard to worked on. In any case at least we finally have the second part of the trilogy being released here even though Sekai was not as fast as when they released Nine series, and here's hoping that Sekai won't take too long to finally released Morning Mist (The last part of the trilogy). That's all for what I can write in regard of this week and I'm sorry for being late here. See you next week.1 point -
Trauma Center: New Chronicle Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have Evenicle 2 release in which it has hospital as the motif I decided to parodied Trauma Center: New Blood by changing 'Blood' into 'Chronicle' because Evenicle itself is the acronym for 'Eve's Chronicle' for the reminder. As for this week itself, what I can say is that it was an active week with several companies announced the exact release date for their VNs (Including Nekonyan in which they announced Cafe Stella exact release date as expected) and of course there's many releases with the biggest one to me here is Evenicle 2. Overall I can say that this week is quite an above average one and interesting to a degree, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. The Snow translation team decided to drop Miagete restoration project, which while it's too bad I understand that it can be tedious considering that it's quite hard to figured out on how to inserting the text. Speaking about restoration project, we have new team for Aojashin sex scenes restoration and the plan is that they'll release the patch to restore the sex scene for Chapter 1 at March later along with revert the heroine setting back as high school student. For fan translation other updates, we have Harugi was at 54% edited, Senmomo was at 36.04% edited with side stories was past a quarter (25.48%) edited, 91.1% original line of Summer Pockets was reworked, Tsukihime Remake Arcueid Day 13 was halfway translated, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 95% translated. We also have some updates from Daybreak translation in which we have Tsuki's route undergoing final QA, and there's also a new project underway with one of the route was already at around 30% translated. Aksys released Variable Barricade in which it's only available for Switch, and if you ask me the reason to get the VN if you're not a fan of otome VN then at least you can have the MC with fragile female ego (ie tsundere) that was voiced by Hatsune Miku's VA (Fujita Saki). Otherwise you may get it if you like otome VN from the very start and has been interested with this. We also have Tokyo Onmyouji release, in which at least it's available for PC so you can play this if you been interested with BL story and yet didn't have console. As expected we also have Degica released another chapter for Yumemi Dreamer, and this week we have the 7th chapter was released so with this we only have five chapters left to finally have a full VN available in English. Frontwing also released Phantom Trigger Volume 8 back at 25th (At least they didn't find the bugs in there), so you can play it if you've been waiting for all chapters of Phantom Trigger to be released and have fun. Cherry Kiss did announce yet another nukige with the localized name Pirate Booty and the Bukkake Buccaneer and they'll release it on March 11th later. Speaking of nukige, we have JAST released Overly Qualified Ms. Mary in which it's about Ms. Mary who is really overly qualified looking from a certain point of view. We also have Mangagamer released Erovoice back at 24th, so go get the VN if you interested with it and have fun. As for Mangagamer's next release, it's Uuultra C in that they'll release it at March 24th later so you may note the date if you've been interested with BL VN from the same developer as Hashihime. Sekai Project decided to cancel several project, in which one of those is Tenshin Ranman. Which mean that Sekai obviously won't release it in the future, although of course it would raise some question in regard on who will localize Tenshin Ranman in the future. The question is easily answered though, with Nekonyan is the most probable one when it come to localize Tenshin Ranman, and if they want to localize it obviously they'll localize the most recent release with the revamped resolution just like Dracu Riot. Speaking of Yuzusoft and Nekonyan, the latter did announce that they'll release Cafe Stella at March 25th later so you may note the date if you've been looking forward to it. Congratulation to Alicesoft in regard of Evenicle 2 release, in which at first it was thought to be impossible seeing that Steam banned this even with Alicesoft already remove one of the sex scene which mean Alicesoft did remove it for nothing. For the premise, we have Alex who is quite a pervert who somehow gain an ability to cure the disease through his sperm that must be cum into the patient (That obviously must be cute and beautiful female), and I definitely didn't make this up. Our Alex here will be involved in fighting against an organization that has the goal to spread the disease to cause the pandemic, and he will get some help from his wives just like first Evenicle (There's still polygamy in here as well). As for the gameplay, it's still the same with first Evenicle with few differences. I admit that at first I think that the sequel is a bit unnecessary seeing that the first Evenicle is complete enough, but now I think that it's a nice addition here. Go get Evenicle 2 if you interested and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week and sorry for being late here. See you next week.1 point -
Add the Berry to My Big Marshmallow Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and as for the title I'll explain it at PS later. Anyway as for this week one of the big news is in regard of Laplacian announcements of Aojashin English release in which turned out that the writer is quite infamous in Japanese (Well the character bio in each of Laplacian's website should be in line with the writer personality), and let's just say that it caused a lot of drama in Reddit. Another one is that we finally have Nekonyan confirmed that yes they'll release Hello Lady at 21st later, and obviously this week we have two releases (Mashimaro and Dead Aegis) in which both of those are interesting on their own. Overall despite some headache inducing drama in regard of Aojashin I can say that this week is interesting, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. As for Aojashin itself, the writer is still decided to have it censored along with write some bold responses. Obviously the response didn't help the situation at all, especially when there's two censor known with one of those is in regard of removing the school element. While to be fair they need to deal with Steam which it can be random when it come to ban, the school removal here would make Aojashin new version lose the reference of first Laplacian VN (Aojashin here is supposed to make the reference across three previous Laplacian VNs). Surprisingly almost nobody asked on why the VN is not all age in the first place if the English version is more in line with author's vision, but I guess it's easy to answer by comparing it with minori. Anyway, the English version has some new features with the most important one is the music player which is missing in the original version, although as for whether the other new features can justify the loss of the sex scenes like Dies Irae we'll see. After Mashimaro release, we have Shiravune announced femdom nukige with all of the heroines are nurses with the name Nope Nope Nurses. I can only say that you may get if if you have some dominant nurses fetish, and if you want to get it then you can wait until 14th later (Or you can wait until 21st because Shiravune here somehow manage to sell this on Steam). Speaking of nukige, we also have Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige with the title 'Hentai Houseparty: Gyaru Gangbang', in which the MC himself is live with three gyaru heroines and then the MC will have a lot of sex with all three. In case you somehow interested with the nukige, note that it'll be released at 18th later. Love Lab here finally has a new project, although the name of the project is still not revealed yet so it's called Secret Project for now (Duh). As for the current progress of said Secret Project, we have it at 6.7% translated (Meru's tweet for the source). From fan translation we have Senmomo was at 24.54% edited with Chapter 2 was at 22.28% edited, Loverable was at 99.66% edited, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 70% edited along with halfway in proofreading. There's also some update in regard of Tsukihime Remake Part 1, and currently the team managed to translated the 8th day. Although actually there's more than that though, because there's both route (Arcueid and Ciel) and the progress is only for Arcueid's 8th day while currently Ciel 8th day is still untranslated, so perhaps the appropriate calling here would be 'Arcueid day 6 through 8 translated'. Oh yes it also has some other progress, with day 9 and 11 Arcueid show some progress (38% and 44% respectively) along with some of Ciel's route (Fully translated for day 1, three quarter translated for day 2, and 5% translated for day 3). As expected JAST did release Dead Aegis. As for Dead Aegis itself, first of all it's character was designed by Ueda Metawo who as we know drew some disturbing contents in Sadistic Blood so much that JAST offer a patch to give the mosaic to it. For Dead Aegis itself, it's more or less magical girl nukige that was been hyped up which make sense seeing that it's rare to see a lengthy magical girl VN (Beside Sakuramoyu). Dead Aegis here also has some interesting plot and the setting building from what I hear, namely that the higher up just using magical girl as the weapon in the space war and the only way to power them up was by having the magical girl being raped by the alien. So yeah it's obviously not a typical light magical girl series like Precure (Duh), and of course it has some disturbing sex scenes. Go get Dead Aegis if you want some magical girl nukige to play with some nice plot along with didn't mind the disturbing contents, and have fun. Last but not the least, we have Mashimaro released by Shiravune. As for Mahimaro, the most obvious things is that the setting is far more lighthearted compared to Dead End Aegis in that the MC did try to help a patisserie that has been left out by the customers. Obviously though the task is not easy seeing that it has some competitor with bigger capital and more popular, but our MC will obviously do everything to make sure it's successful as the repayment for the owner (Kanon, also one of the heroine) who help him when the MC was starved thanks to being kicked out from his house. Go get Mashimaro from Johren if you interested with charage that has patisserie setting, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week. PS - For the title since we have Mashimaro released I decided to parodied one of vocal song from KKPC in which case it's Ichika's 1st image song, Add the Berry to My Big Love, by changing 'Love' with 'Marshmallow' (I know that 'Berry' here is a pun for 'Very'). For the info, the opening song of Mashimaro here was sang by Tsukiyono Usagi (Marmallade here is not very subtle with Sailor Moon parody) who as we know is the idol in the second Primal x Hearts, and both of Usagi and Ichika here has rabbit as their animal motif (Translation Note: Usagi mean rabbit).1 point -
Afterschool Medusa Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
As for this week, since we have exact release date for Aojashin along with we have the translation project for Houkago Cinderella, I'd make a VA joke for Aojashin main heroine VA (Asakawa Yuu) in which as we know was voiced Medusa in Fate/Stay Night so we have 'Afterschool Medusa' as this week VNTS Review title (I know that the afterschool word here is quite ironic considering what we have in Aojashin overseas release, and for the translation note 'Houkago' mean 'Afterschool'). Welcome to this week VNTS Review and yes I decided to wrote this earlier, and as for this week what I can say is that it's slightly better compared to the last week with Aojashin release date announcement and both of JAST and Cherry Kiss announced the exact release date for their nukige. Other than those announced release dates, we also have Degica is indeed localized Yumemi Dreamer in which it's the newest VN from Kogado albeit in the unusual way. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Laplacian did announce that they'll release Aojashin at 10th later, and let's just say that I'm still wait and see whether the extra contents are indeed really can make up for the loss of the sex scenes. If anything else, at least they make sure to announce the addition of music mode that they'd miss in the original version. For JAST newest nukige (Overly Qualified Ms. Mary), what I can say is that it's their biggest release (Well if we based it on the heroine's breast size) so perhaps you may interested with that if it's released at 23rd later. For Cherry Kiss nukige, it's localized title is 'Elf Wives Cheat to Ride my Meat' in that it should be obvious the MC will do some NTR stuffs to the elves, so if you interested with it you can wait until the release date at 18th later. As for newest Kogado VN, it's magical girl VN with the title 'Star Melody: Yumemi Dreamer' in that it's come from the same team who developed Symphonic Rain which mean it'll have rhythm gameplay. In here we have our male MC who's his childhood friend, Yumemi, was chosen as the magical girl with the task to fight the monster that manipulate nightmare in order to eat the soul along with fighting the cadres that rule over the monsters. Anyway the unusual way to release that I mention is in regard on how Degica released the patch that add new translated chapters, and currently we have 4 out of 12 chapters translated so obviously there'll be more chapter release in the future in that it'll came up at each Thursday so I'll keep my eyes on this at each Thursday. For fan translation, we have Harugi was at halfway edited, Taimanin Kurenai was at 80% translated, Chaos Head Noah was at 11.61% edited, Senmomo was at 29.58% edited with Chapter 2 was at 64.84% edited, Tsukihime Remake Arcueid Day 10 was at 84% translated, and Meiko's route of Snow was fully translated along with the Legend route was almost done in which it bring Snow overall was at 80% translated. As for Houkago Cinderella translation project, currently it's been at one third translated with them already released the patch that cover one of the route, although it's still not edited and QC-ed yet though so it might be quite rough to read. Obviously the translator did realize it, and so he search for the editor and QC (You can look more at this blogpost). Anyway I'll try to keep my eyes on this project, so I'll just say good luck to the translator even though it's might be more than possible that Nekonyan may pick up this later. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and see you next week. PS - Turned out that I did miss the progress from Slow Damage along with Love Lab secret project progress, and currently Slow Damage was already in QA (So we may get Slow Damage released in the near future) while for Love Lab secret project it was at a quarter translated. I know that I did miss White Album 2 Mini After Story translation project was started, although I'll write more of it at the next VNTS Review.1 point -
Christmas When There is No Angel Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Merry Christmas, and as for this week VNTS Review I decided to parodied the old VN from Leaf VN with the name 'December When There is No Angel' because we have a certain well known VN from the same company by changing 'December' into 'Christmas', so we have 'Christmas When There is No Angel' as this week VNTS Review title. Anyway welcome to this week VNTS Review in which it's my last VNTS Review for 2021, and as for this week I can say that this is quite an interesting one thanks to a certain release. Of course though we also have several good news in that we finally have several VNs finally have the Steam store which is really says a lot considering that recently it's been harder to include the VNs into Steam. Overall this week is better than the last week if I may say something even with less number of releases, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. There's a new company called Rosetta with them about to released their debut VN called Secret Kiss is Sweet and Tender (The English name), and from what I can see it's the GL VN with the premise of a love story between the teacher and the student. Other than that, I know that it'll be has sex scenes seeing that the VAs use their alias instead of the true name and that it'll be released in both of Steam (ie PC) and Switch at February 17th later with Japanese and English language support. Other than the new GL VN, we have Laplacian unfortunately need to delay their Aojashin release with the new estimation that they'll release it at either January or February later, and if anything else at least the one who work on uncensored patch can have more time to uncensoring Aojashin later. Speaking of delay, turned out that we also have Tokyo Onmyouji release was delayed in that the new release month will be at February later. There's a surprising news in regard of Shiravune's new VN, and it's not because the VN in question is Ryuusei World Actor: Bade and Dagger in which it's the fandisc/sequel of Ryuusei (In fact I did say that it's up to them to localized this). The surprising news is somehow Valve decided to accept this, which to say quite an anomaly seeing that they did reject the prequel multiple times. As for the premise, we have Ruka continuing his case from the first game with him will have relation with two more heroines, although if I may say something it's just like Akagoei 2 or Meikyuu in which the second part of the trilogy will be short and has fandisc contents, and yes I assume that Kinugasa will make Ryuusei as trilogy here. Anyway you can play the trial that has been released in the Steam store of Badge and Dagger if you want to see the continuation of first VN. While Shiravune worked hard on Dokyuusei remake so much they're already done with the translation, unfortunately it's still not enough to have it released at this year so Shiravune here did need to delay the release in order to finishing up the remaining work on Doukyuusei remake. We also have two more VNs manage to have Steam store, and those two VNs are Hollow (Steam store page) and Hello Lady (Steam store page) in which Nekonyan need to wait until Valve did finally accept Hello Lady in Steam. As for Hollow, Ninetails already announced the release month for the steam version and it'll be at January later, so the Steam user who want to play more Venus Blood didn't need to wait for long here. We also have several updates from Mangagamer, in which we have both of Erovoice and Uchi no Imouto was in testing so it should be obvious that Mangagamer will release those two VNs first, Raillore was at 64% translated along with 60% edited, and Rance X was at 39% translated. From fan translation, we have Harugi was at 43% edited, Loverable was at 99.27% translated along with 99.1% edited (Which mean that it's really close to finished the translation), Mahoyo was at 85.67% TLC-ed along with have some progress on the editing at 70.75% edited, Gore Screaming Show was past a quarter (27.28%) translated. We also have Tsukihime Remake Part 1 (There's two parts of the remake planned, and right now Type Moon only released one of the two parts of it) translation team released the patch that cover first five days of Arcueid's route and currently the team did worked on day 6 and 7, so if you have Switch and already thinking of playing Tsukihime Remake you can download the patch from the link here. I can only say that good for them they finally have some result on the translation work, so good luck on the translation effort for Tsukihime Remake Part 1. Last but definitely not the least is a certain well known VN from Leaf finally has the full translation patch of it released, and it's obviously White Album 2 (WA2) with said patch has been released back at 22nd. For a bit of history, Leaf did release this in two parts, Introduction and Closing, although structure wise it's like Muv Luv so we'll have three parts of the story with Leaf put Closing and Coda (The latter is the last part of WA2) in one package. For the premise we have Haruki who get close to the popular girl Setsuna and the loner girl Kazusa, although unfortunately three of them does a lot of mistakes in regard of the romance that ultimately cost them everything, and said mistakes keep haunting them even as the three of them enter the adulthood. Go get WA2 if you're understandably been waiting for this because it's been one of the very well received VNs (The link to the patch), and have fun. Lastly since I mention Muv Luv, I'll just say that the score differences between two parts of WA2 is not as extreme as the original Muv Luv and Alternative. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week VNTS Review, and happy New Year 2022. See you next year. PS - I know that Shiravune did release the demon lord nukige back at 24th in which it would make a nice Christmas gift from them, although to me it's been overshadowed by both of Dokyuusei Remake update and Badge and Dagger here. Well go get the nukige if you interested with it and have fun.1 point -
Tantei Opera Milky Poirot Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
As for this week title, since we have Kamiyaba with one of the heroine was voiced by Sasaki Mikoi who also voiced Hercule Barton in Tantei Opera Milky Holmes franchise and that Kamiyaba has great detective heroine (Sasaki Mikoi didn't voice the detective heroine though, and for translation note 'tantei' mean 'detective'), I parodied Milky Holmes by changing 'Holmes' with 'Poirot' with Poirot here is the eponym for Hercule Barton herself (Hercule Poirot in that it's the detective in Agatha Christie works). I know that Milky Holmes is also the name of the VA unit consist of Milky Holmes main characters VAs, but Milky Holmes itself is also the eponym for Sherlock Holmes and we also have the character with Sherlock Holmes eponym (Sherlock Shellingford). For this week, with Shiravune announced aforementioned Kamiyaba along with several updates from both of fan translation and Nekonyan, I can say that it's another interesting week with less headache compared to the last week in that it also has Aojashin drama. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week. Shiravune did release Nope Nope Nurse back at 14th, and I can only say have fun if you already decided to try this because you have some interest with dominant nurses (At least the character design are good looking if anything else). It's also somehow manage to be released on Steam, and the Steam version of it will be availlable at 21st later. Speaking of Steam, a certain VN from Sekai didn't manage to enter it smoothly and thus they decided to just release it at some other platform beside Steam. Said VN is not Amatsutsumi, but instead it's Nekogami in which is quite known that Valve decided to reject this on Steam (Sekai didn't announced it directly like Amatsutsumi though), and the release date will be tomorrow (The tweet in regard of that). My interest with the news is not Nekogami though, but instead Amatsutsumi in which I can see that Sekai will also release it like Nekogami here so with this hopefully it mean that we'll get Amatsutsumi in the near future. From fan translation, we have Chicchakunai Mon was at 86.7% translated, Harugi was at 47% edited, Loverable was at 99.33% edited, and Taimanin Kurenai was at 60% proofread. For other progress, we also have Tsukihime Remake Part 1 update with Arcueid Day 9 and Day 10 Bad End was fully translated along with Ciel Day 6 was at 93% translated. We also have some update on Snow, in which currently we have elaboration on the progress for the currently in working routes with Legend route was at past halfway (52%) translated along with Meiko's route was at 68% translated. As for Nekonyan updates, we have Cafe Stella was fully translated and edited, Aoi Tori was at 95% translated along with 80% edited, Makeover FD was at 65% edited, Kirikoi FD was at 85% translated along with 15% edited, and their 3rd secret project was at three quarter edited. Last but not the least we have Kamiyaba exact release date announcement by Shiravune, and said exact date will be at 21st later (Same date as Hello Lady release). As for Kamiyaba itself, from what I see it's about the MC (Hajime) who desperately want to experienced the romance so much that he brought a lot of charms for good romance. Said act caused Hajime approached by goddess of marriage Urara who tell Hajime that if he didn't find a love within a year then he'll be virgin for the rest of his life, and to make it worse the charms turned out caused his future to be unstable. In order to help Hajime, Urara decided to offer three heroines with the outlandish setting (Japan prime minister's daughter, popular idol, and great detective) with all of three heroines has fate meter that need to be reduced to zero in order to have Hajime become the partner for one of the heroines. As for where you can get the VN, it's only available at Johren later. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Sultry Elves and a Chaste Orc Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review and sorry for the belated review here. As for this week title, well I just combined the words from both of Fakku and Mangagamer nukige releases so that we have 'Sultry Elves and a Chaste Orc' as this week VNTS Review, and for the reminder the English title for both of Fakku and Mangagamer releases are 'Zero Chastity: A Sultry Summer Holiday' and 'Horny Elves and a Moral Orc' respectively. Anyway what I can say in regard of this week is that it's an active one thanks to Mangagamer announce an interesting new title along with Sekai releases two of their title, so yes I can say that this week is an exciting one. Let's see what I can write in regard of this week. No much updates from fan translation at this week other than we have Taimainin Kurenai was at 40% edited and Senmomo was at 16.92% edited with Chapter 1 was fully edited, although we also have an update in regard of White Album 2. The update goes like that they finished the report for the testing and the next work is that they'll finished up two side stories that was unlocked after finished the VN, although since the team find a big problem that would took more time to resolve when they attempt to work on that they decided to just make the side stories as the PDF files. After translating side stories, next they'll make the patch in which whether it'll be bug-ridden or not will determine their decision to release the patch (Let's hope that it won't be buggy there). I don't know when all of the processes will be finished, but someone did say that it might be finished at early December so let's wait and see in regard of that. Frontwing did release Aikagi, and I can only say good for them that they still manage to release a VN even with their problematic Sharin Kickstarter. We also have Fakku released their own nukige that I mentioned earlier, although I'll just pass that. Anyway in case you interested with both of Aikagi and Zero Chastity (Or perhaps one of those), go get the VNs and have fun. We also have the news in regard of Humbling of Holy Maiden, and the news is that finally they have the English version of it was 100% complete with the current situation that they preparing for the releases, so it shouldn't be too long before finally we have it released. Lastly we also have Ninetails say at the latest Kickstarter update that they did probably need to delay the release for Hollow Steam version because Valve still not finished with the review, but seeing that the trial was accepted by Valve at least it mean that Hollow will make it on Steam, so let's wait and see here. Mangagamer This week Mangagamer has a big updates, and the big update in question is obviously not Horny Elves and a Moral Orc release that was released back at 18th (You can get the VN if you interested with it), but instead we have them announce three new title in which curiously none of those are their secret project. Oh yes there's no their next release announcement here following the release of Horny Elves, although I suppose Mangagamer decided to make it up with the new title announcements. Almost forgot to mention that Mangagamer still working on Higurashi Hou according to this tweet, with the translation and editing already done with the programmer was very busy so it would be a while before they work on the programming. For the first title as expected we have the second part of Uchi trilogy released, and the title is Uchi no Imouto in which instead of his childhood friend this time we have the MC will have the romance with his little sister. I guess I can say that Moonstone here still has their little sister fetish if we look back at Imouto Paradise trilogy, and more importantly it's pretty obvious that Mangagamer will license all of Uchi trilogy so it's only a matter of time to have the third part of it to be announced by them. The second announcement is a BL VN with the name Uuultra C in that it has premise like kaiju along with robot and superhero in 70's, and other than that I know it's from the same company as Hashihime so at least I expect the BL VN here would have some interesting story to a degree seeing that Hashihime here is quite well received. The last announcement from them is Raillore in which it's the 5th 3rdeye project, and yeah Mangagamer already throw an obvious hint toward this with 'keep an extra eye' stuffs. As for Raillore itself we have the same main characters formula like at Sorcery Jokers in that we have two MCs and two heroines for each of the MCs in Raillore, although the setting here is different in that it was set at the far future where the Earth has been changed in that it regressed to the Middle Ages civilization so obviously we'll going to have the usual isekai setting only without going to another world part (For the info most of isekai setting are based on Earth at Middle Ages). In Raillore here 3rd eye did some experiment with them removed the narration for the battle and story, and in exchange they tried to do some animation to depict the battle. Whether it work for the people or not is up to each of their own (Mod Clephas didn't like the change here), but at least I can say that the HDD size of this is quite big at 13.5 GB. Anyway I look forward to see the update in regard of this later. Sekai Project After three years of waiting, finally Sekai was done with ReLord 2 translation work and manage to release it back at 20th, although if I may say it's a bit too late because there's already a long gap between the release of the first part and the second part (Three years). If anything else, at least it's not as slow as Tokeijikake in that Sekai was still busy with the engine work of it until now, although ReLord here is obviously still not as fast as Nine in that it just took two year to release all four parts of it. Anyway as for ReLord 2 our MC will keep fighting the witch who took over the demon world by stripping them, and for the reminder our MC here is the demon who has fought the witches in order to retake the land that were claimed by the witches. Go get ReLord 2 if you been waiting for three years since the first ReLord or perhaps want to play more Escude VNs after Yamizome Revenger, and have fun. Last but not the least we have Kimagure Temptation that was released by Sekai at the same date as ReLord 2. Unlike ReLord 2 in which it's the middle part of the trilogy, Kimagure here is a standalone VN so you can just play it directly, although that said it also has some connection with Nanairo. For the premise, we have our MC Haruhisha who is an onmyoji was requested to handle a mysterious murder case in an apartement. At the same time, we have our heroine Anneliese came from Japan in order to stay permanently because she like otaku culture, and then both of her and Haruhisha met with Anneliese interested with Haruhisha sex drive because Anneliese herself is a succubus. While the graphic here is promised a light hearted nukige story with succubus and all, one should remember that it's from the same company (And writer) as Nanairo and therefore there would be the same element (ie mystery) that happen in Kimagure here. Go get Kimagure if you interested with it, and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
Himekishi ga Classmate Gaiden Review
masster_auron reacted to littleshogun for a blog entry
Welcome to this week VNTS Review, and since we have Yamizome Revenger released back at 5th with one of the heroines is the MC classmate who become himekishi (Literally mean Princess Knight in Japan) in order to fight the demon king who possessed the MC, I parodied the light novel with the name that literally tell the same situation (Himekishi ga Classmate) although the novel has slightly different circumstances from Yamizome hence the word Gaiden (It mean 'Side Story' in Japan, so we can treat Yamizome Revenger as side story for Himekishi ga Classmate if one want to make a crossover of those two lol). Anyway as for this week, while release wise we still have the same number like last week (Two releases) obviously our focus is on Nekonyan's updates. Other than their updates, both Frontwing and Fakku did announce the exact release date for their VNs along with several updates from fan translation. Overall I guess I can say that this week is an average one, and let's see what I can write in regard of this week. As for the two releases that we have in this week, both of those are nukige. One of those are from Shiravune (I suppose they took a break at this month after Dohna Dohna release) in that they released the VN with the English name 'My Horny Ex-Classmate Trophy Wife's Sexual Reckoning' with the premise the MC was decided to blackmail his former female classmate who already married and has been haughty to him in the past, and from the blackmail it should be obvious that there'll be a lot of sex (Well it's nukige). Another release is from Cherry Kiss in that once again the premise is about the MC who somehow has the power to seduce the monster girls, and the MC start the journey to gather his harem of monster girl. Well go get both VNs (Or perhaps one of those) if you interested with it, and have fun. Oh yes Shiravune didn't announce the release of their nukige, so perhaps they know that there won't be much hype from their just released title. Turned out that Frontwing need three to six months to fix the bug that they find on Sharin, and the bug is happen in the screen change function (The one that allow you to chose the screen between 4:3 and 16:9). What I can say is that it's still the same technical problem reasoning that caused Frontwing need to delay Sharin release, so nothing going to change that other than at least it should stop them to give some useless updates within three to six months. To compensate the delay in regard of Sharin, they had announced the exact release date for Aikagi in which they'll release it at 17th later. Speaking of announce release date, we also have Fakku announced Zero Chastity exact release date in which they'll release it at 16th tomorrow which if we remember the release of it was delayed thanks to the site problem that Fakku face (Well good for them that said problem was finally fixed). I know that the translator did say that we may have White Album 2 full translation patch at this week, although after I check the Discord the other staff said that it may be not possible to have it released within this week because there still some work left (Such as applying the remaining feedback from the testing and do some more programming stuffs) before finally release the patch. What I can say is that while obviously it would be good if the patch released at this week, for now I'll just wait and see in regard of this. For the rest of fan translation updates, we have Taimanin Kurenai was at 70% translated, Mahoyo was at 85.07% TLC-ed, Harugi was at 38% edited, and Senmomo was at 15.9% edited with Chapter 1 was almost fully (93.97%) edited. Lastly we also have Kakugo Translation give the update for Sukiuso, and for the update we have the whole VN was past three quarter (78%) translated with them currently working on the last route. They also said that they'll start the editing at the next year when all of the routes are fully translated, so let's see if they can do it later. Last but not the least, this week we have Nekonyan's updates. For the updates, we have Aoi Tori was at 85% translated along with 65% edited, Cafe Stella was at 90% translated and edited along with 20% in QA, Makeover FD was at a quarter edited, and Mirai Radio was fully edited with the engine work on it was halfway done. We also have them finally updated their second secret project after a while here, and currently it's been at 60% translated. Other than second secret project, we also have the update from the third secret project in which it's been fully translated along with 35% edited. Lastly we also have Hello Lady progress in which we finally have the engine work of it was done along with the QA progress of this was touched 70%. For Nekonyan's next release, I would say that it might be Hello Lady which sounds more than possible, although the situation obviously can be changed so let's wait and see. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.1 point -
