I'm happy I stayed up for the whole stream. The skype call was fun too, hopefully for the listeners as well I wish I had a better memory buffer, I could've tweeted even more of batman's lines about his engaged to be engaged wife Acain and such.

Are you sure you changed the locale for non-unicode programs, and not just the location? because the first message mentions ANSI and Unicode which are both text encodings kinda... It should be somewhere under administrative, but I don't into windows 8.

Zuzu left the building qq... Hmm, this hanako person is interesting though. Admittedly if we picked ships purely from mutual appreciation of Yuri, I'd likely be on Lewy's route... God, what a mess Lewy's route would be.

I'm somewhere in between the first and second, since I can do #1 but I don't know the readings or more than one potentially misleading meaning for the ~600-700 kanji I can recognize (plus I don't learn in education order.) I'm not sure if I should tick the causes one because I still get confused by は vs が sometimes despite tae kim's, plus not many helper words or w/e you call them like から etc. Meh, ticking only first option then.

How much do you remember about VN after you finished it?
Zakamutt replied to sion12's topic in Visual Novel Talk
To be honest, there might indeed be something wrong with your memory. I don't know if this hits you in any other parts of life though, so there are certainly other possibilities... While I don't have perfect memories of anything, I can usually remember a decent lot of standout scenes, and the general themes, of just about anything I've read. Not necessarily good, because then I can't really read it again T_T. I read quite slowly in general (not super slow, but probably at like half to one-third of batman speed (although when he actually seems to focus and read the text, he's pretty much reading at my pace...) because I tend to sometimes lose focus otherwise (backlog is a godsend because I can forget what the last line said when I reach the next sometimes... I really don't know.) That might make me remember stuff more, idk. Maybe this is a thing with people who can't really into books but are ok with VNs? I read fuckloads when I was younger. Tl;dr don't skim your VNs, you miss all the detail and then you post a thread saying the MC is stupid and I get depressed -
Think thelewa's answer to that is that the rhythm added to the track distracts you from how the actual music flows. And stuff. It might also be that people just don't like the nightcore sound. Of course, if you're not listening to the music much anyway for your timing, it might not matter. Sometimes not listening is better anyway b/c the beatmapper fucked up and nobody seemed to catch it in the modding process (gdi that one thing in the tomadoi recipe insane that's just terriwrong musicwise and keeps tripping me up... meh I FC'd it when I wasn't listening so much when I was sleep-deprived and had shit acc...)

Why did so many people dislike School Days?
Zakamutt replied to Ohanaya's topic in Visual Novel Talk
First question: that avatar... are you RPing Kotonoha? Alright, with that out of the way... I'll preface this by saying that if you base your opinion on the vn on the anime or vice versa, it is invaleds. Pls don't. Makoto... cute? I'm not gay so I can't really into this. Intelligent? Not more than any other average human being. Makoto is practically defined by his spinelessness in pretty much everything but full-faithfulness Kotonoha (which I did first.) I'm not sure if he's any more sensible than the average person either. To be honest, Makoto feels more like a caricature than an actual human being. If you're in the "School Days is a deconstruction of the hetare protagonist" camp, this is quite interesting (someone did argue for that regarding the anime, at least.) That said, picking absolutely no options throughout the game results in a good Sekai ending. Wat. I personally have watched near zero high school drama of the kind School Days offered. If I was inured to the genre, I might have thought it to be worse. I'm also emotionally manipulated quite easily, so I did get the feels at some endings. I also only did the Sekai side endings after that because oh god Kotonoha is such a bitch on an immense amount of levels. Sekai is p. moe though. I guess the difference for me is that Sekai took her pain out on herself rather than lashing out, which is more Kotonoha style (beside her obvious mental disorder.) You can argue that she's incredibly unassertive or whatever, but so are some real people. I swear, some people expect characters to be some kind of perfect automaton always picking the right choice. As I said before though, I'm not certain Makoto works as a real person. There are numerous system issues, like a lack of a proper skip system (no, fast-forward doesn't count in something this long. Way too slow,) random crashing (not very frequent for me though) to some people being unable to run it at all (krill is pretty sad about this, for one.) Other issues are consistency problems between spliced-together scenes like background colors for the sky, high re-use of clips etc. School days isn't bad, but it's in no way a masterpiece. I kinda want to see the ending where Sekai stabs you, but I was too lazy and my Kotonoha-hate too great. I also need to watch the anime to see if I agree with the deconstruction theorist. ...one day. #backlogs #priorities -

^ You picked Hard M as part of your title. Your argument is invalid.

Koiiro Chu! Lips - A denwatls translation.

I remember editing a few scripts of (admittedly literal) tl. It was exhausting for me (though that might just be me), and I immediately gained quite a bit of perspective, lol. You guys are insane, and I love you for it.- 75 replies

Theres this quote from 4chan that's presumably gone now and I cba to find it. Tl;dr he's doing something meh now, perhaps to prepare hismelf for nonmeh later as nobody will rage if he fucks this one up. Maybe. God, maybe that was just another person speculating, I can't remember things.- 75 replies

I'd say... Ren had too high volume compared to meph, and probably butted in a bit too often / enthusiastically. Then again he was also a source of amusing commentary at his best, so just hone your edge w. Make sure stream really works before starting if possible. And test pretty extensively w On an unrelated note, my weirdo echo was actually caused by... accidentally opening a second stream window. I don't even know, man. Stream chat lags so much sometimes. If we can get people to actually use irc, it's going to be better lol. The untranslated stuff was amusing to me, though I'm not sure if it's a good idea for everyone. Possibly the most entertaining part of stream was the orca stuff in stream chat. Feel free to retain your dismissive attitude towards whatever as well

Hitbox please edit: also take guests on ts instead of skype if you can, because everyone knows skype sucks

>names self Kurisu-chan >tutturu *twitch* That aside, allow me to fail at French: Bienvenue á (wait, is this the right direction for the accent? I'm feeling like this is an acutely grave situaiton...) Fuwanovel, Kurisu-chan! J'espere que votre temps dans Fuwanovel will be oh god I don't know this tense heureux. Should I even use the votre level of formality on the *nets like this? Does it matter? What did I take six years of French for?

^ I got my copy through a local (Swedish) e-tailer myself. You could check, though I guess south africa might not have the same kind of infrastructure lol

no nisemonogatari before nekomono kuro silly man, don'r be all chronological (seriously batman recomemdns it in this order)

^ try creating a thread in the tech support forum (or someone might move your post there). Anyway, I haven't seen this problem before. If it's just a crash with no error message and the rest of the novel runs fine, I really don't know. If you can see an error message and show it to us though, that might help. If nothing else, you can manually change the settings by opening up SR.ini. I'd advise backing up the original file before you make any changes, though.

Well, given that the mainsite is down... try this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/change-system-locale#1TC=windows-7

I always write each kanji down when I study unless I'm really lazy that day. I think Heisig even advises you to write the kanji down once (and for some primitives, a few times) when you initially memorize them. He also says that it's a shame if you don't practice writing them as well somewhere. I'm not sure on exactly what page he writes this though, so it could be ahead of where you are. The book provides stroke order and everything. Why would it not be a guide to how to write them as well? Oo

Who is your fuwa-kouhai?

Heisig basically strongly recommends against kanji -> story/word practice. The idea is that youll get it eventually anyway. It works... decently, but not always. Tl;dr read the sections between lessons guys, it's actually interesting (though he takes his time before he tells you....) Personally I encounter jp text daily in some form and try to read what little I can. I guess that's the only practice I'm getting though, lol.
