  1. @Vokoca >轢殺 worth looking up the kanji
  2. His nose kept giving me stab wounds...
  3. A different bad ending? Well, a certain choice in KS!Hanako's route... there's also the thing when you don't have enough heroine points and all.
  4. I always loved messing with literal definitions and twisting words as far as they can go for amusement; for that kind of purpose, the dictionary can go violate itself with a retractable baton helpfully provided by the pirate bay. Of course, if it causes actual confusion you have a problem since language is usually about communication. As for the amount of hyperbole in English... maybe it's due to cultural factors, then? American English tends to have by far the greatest impact on pop culture and international use in general, and America itself is at least stereotyped as being larger-than-life - so perhaps the way USians see the world shape it all. There's also a lot of use of sarcasm in English in general, which tends to use hyperbole for effect as well.
  5. >first expansion >naxxramas not an expansion blizzard pls
  6. I really enjoyed that initial vn style video. Not sure if I have time to check the demo out though consider what I could be doing with my time... ...now what surprises me most is that they actually didn't use #lolflexiblefunding on indiegogo since that seems to be what every stupid vn project on indiegogo does. If nothing else respect for that, lol.
  7. I would have loved is the initial tone of the vn continued longer than it did. Sadly, it soon led to a section with felt out of place and dragged in general... "lol this kind of section... well I suppose it is a jvn, so it has to have this retarded bit". Obviously this makes some sense in the story as constructed; I just wish it was written so this shit didn't happen. In the end, I felt that it clashed too hard with the interesting parts of the vn... and that's where I'll stop for now, I guess? w
  8. Because saying someone is literally hitler is much better than saying they are figuratively hitler, of course.
  9. I remember playing games in English at an early age as well (an old demo of some version of Settlers iirc), which probably contributed somewhat to me cruising through English class in general. I had lots of other factors working for me as well though.
  10. Why did this get into gaming discussion when TtT2 is considered a vn?
  11. Now this might not be as true for VNs (and for kickstarters liek the WAS one etc, a demo probably will help), but it's an interesting take.
  12. You's disregarding that comparing the amount of oelvns considered decent to the amount of translated story vns considered decent is a thing when making the nukige comparison though.
  13. I think people here are generally of the opinion that most if not all OELVNs are not really worth reading. I'd also say that hardly all OELVN writers are native speakers, and a decent few don't write well even though they are. Who would feel encouraged to read by a crappy story? Perhaps hyperbole, but nevertheless.
  14. Not that I think anyone's trying to convince people much in the fuwaskype, lol.
  15. Never said I was into 'em sexually, but people half-playing at being girls on the net are cool. You don't really physical appearance in textchats after all~
  16. About "higurashi when they cry" I also think that from an artistic standpoint it's kinda bad; "when the cicadas cry" would probably be my pick (note though that according to muh research that higurashi is a specific breed of cicada which tends to cry during the evening only and is comparatively rare.) However, fitting higurashi in there is crucial to associate it with the higurashi anime. In all probability they just looked at the anime's localized title and went by that to begin with (well, that or the original engrish i guess...), which was probably a good business move. Though I'm not sure if anyone cared, but well still it could have been. Also, fuck Alchemist. I actually really liked the spooky-eyes stuff they did, and while it might just be liking the first thing you see some of the caramelbox sprites are pretty iffy while none of the ps2 sprites make a real bad impression (though some of the new ones are glorious as well...)
  17. Basically it's the best place ever

  19. Not getting in copyright trouble.
  20. Well, it it has multiple paths you could just show one or two. Think that was what Run intended with cockaroo though so no guarantees lol.
  21. Quality effort copying the skype thread and replacing skype with ts "Too many girls on Fuwa, something's wrong..." --Nosebleed, 2014
  22. But I'm an atheist
  23. Who hasn't done that?
  24. I've definitely seen people that read VNs but wouldn't touch a book, so there's that. However as also mentioned, VN translations often have questionable quality English. Personally I didn't really get into VNs through anime, so I'm kind of an anomaly. I also used to be a bookworm, though I mostly don't read books any more (I read VNs and net articles though).
