Kaguya replied to Tay's topic in Members' Lounge
Yep, an anime adaptation of UBW by Ufotable. I think the guy behind it did one of the KnK movies too. -

Talking about day, I was wondering why you chose a friday over a saturday, where presumably, more people would be free... Then I realized UBW airs tomorrow. -

You're actually a cyborg spy with false memories we put there ahead of time to get some good scouting. You've done well. You may now recieve your cake and stop your duties. -

*Ahem* (Now, where is that speech Tay prepared for us to keep good public image... Oh well, I'll just talk without it. Yes, with my charisma it should be fine...) I rule over all of you. We will now be mobilizing all fuwa forces to conquer Argentina. Those who disagree will become food for Clephas. You need not chatter nor complain, for you are mere machines with the sole purpose of following through my every whim. Go!!! (Hm. I'm sure the other mods would be proud of that. Even I'm in awe of how perfect that speech was. They should be ready for war~) -

...I did make a couple of jokes like that. About twice in this thread. You will be perma-banned for derailing the commemoration, though -

Say hello to pages 34, 35 and 36 of our reports. Of course. I'm the lazy mod. Obviously. In all seriousness, me, nosebleed and down deal with reports equally. The other mods deal with them too, just not so much- but they're all incredibly helpful people in other aspects. Kendjin is the upload king, Beato helps with the front page, etc, etc- I wouldn't say any one of us is better than the other as a mod. I'm glad to work with such a competent team, and being a mod is pretty cool, all in all. -

I dare to say I'm the second most active mod. I do most of my work in private, dealing with reports, sending pms and taking part in epic battles from the shadows~ Oh yeah, Beato is an important mod, dealing with a lot of front-page stuff. Not that active on the forums, thouh. -

The scary part is that I really could end up confusing this with the group pm if both were open at the same time... Oh yeah, I'll take the chance for some shameless advertising! Join our totally secret pm group where we plot to conquer fuwa, people~ -

Actually, I've been using it as my profile feedback for a while now, so a couple other people should recognize it as well That global fame, though. I'm surrounded by fangirls every day, washing myself with the hard-earned gold of all our fuwa citizens~ Was replaying p3 FES while reading this (I know, right? Not giving my undivided attention to the thread should be a crime, but since you're all appreaciating me, it should be fine <3) and I found that this soundtrack will give enough feels as well. -

Heh. It's not like we're mods for your sake or anything, so don't get any weird ideas~ -
I think it's a good decision. Removing features after they've been added is always a tough choice to make, but in this case it's probably the correct one. Well played Tay, well played. Looking forward to that new system of recognition!

Saya no Uta isn't scary, nor does it tries to be. It's dark, but that's it. Higurashi and Umineko also aren't quite scary... There's Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni, made by the same author, which fits halloween more, but still isn't supposed to scare you. Finally, there's Phenomeno, which can scare you if you're not used to horror. It's about as close as you'll get with translated VNs. Aside from Corpse Party, which also fits the deal- you can try those games with a psp emulator if you don't have one. All in all, japanese are pretty bad with horror. Listen to the VN-sensei and go with phenomeno, though.

Balancing College, work, and otaku life in the US
Kaguya replied to Clephas's topic in General Discussion
What? Ban? Sorry for not being clear, I guess. The most punishment I'd give to some derailing is a verbal warning. If you do it a lot, maybe you'll eventually get a 24 hours ban, but you don't do that type of thing. Actually, I derail more threads than you~ I wasn't even planning on following through any punishment, even with two or three more derailing comments.... Hell, gotta remember that people take me seriously when I mention this type of thing because I'm a mod. /sigh. -

Kaguya replied to Clephas's topic in General Discussion
I was obviously referring to the way I write. I'm pretty sure it's repetitive and looks awkward because of my vocab. I'm sure you just wanted to crack that joke, but it's derailing regardless. Next time there will be some sort of punishment. Now, on to the topic- college is over sooner than you expect. Spending a couple of years without putting much into your hobbies should be bearable for most people, and it will pay off in the end. -
Balancing College, work, and otaku life in the US
Kaguya replied to Clephas's topic in General Discussion
I'm not from the US (as you may be able to guess from my bad english) and I got my PhD 2 years ago... Which gave me the opportunity to get my job, which I can do from home, is easy, doesn't consume more than 6 hours per day (though it's often less) and anyone with minimum management skills could do- the higher your education, the less you'll have to use it. Well, at least here in Brazil. Honestly, my advice is to not try to balance things. Just forget you're an otaku and immerse yourself in your studies- Now, about work... Try to cheat your way through it. Your parents can't afford the full college fees? Go live with your uncle/granparents. Get a scholarship. It'll eat away your time to study, and being physically exausted can have an impact in your mind, so if you can't avoid working, stray away from physical labor, at least. I realize some people will end up having to work no matter what... But even they should look at alternatives. I had fun while I was in college because I enjoyed what I was doing. Also, social life takes more of your time than you'd realize. While all humans need some of it, ditching social events will give you more time than you imagine. -
The Eroge Scene in Parody: Translator Baseball
Kaguya replied to sanahtlig's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Oh. I checked GD a lot of times for hidden gold like this, yet I never managed to find this thread until now... Thanks for reviving it, I guess~ -
It reached my country a long time ago. Not too worried about it- working at home and living mostly isolated has it's perks. Nothing nearby and almost no people pass through here, so it's fine. I can see why you'd want to warn people about it. Putting important on the title is kinda vague, though. You should probably at least put Ebola in the title somewhere.

Why is it morally wrong to bring back the dead?
Kaguya replied to crunchytaco's topic in General Discussion
I don't know. I wouldn't want to revive anyone, yet it's what the discussion is about. Actually, we're all derailing since the first page. It's a discussion about "why is it morally wrong to bring back the dead", which has already been answered. I'll be closing the thread now. -
Why is it morally wrong to bring back the dead?
Kaguya replied to crunchytaco's topic in General Discussion
Because the discussion isn't about immortality in the first place, it's about revival. It's pretty much a discussion on fantasy, so bringing back someone in their teenager years or something like that doesn't sound too abnormal.
