I see why there would be a fuss about this, since it has actual effects in the real world. Here's a thing, though- you shouldn't expect other human beings to follow the same moral code you do. They are laughing at the suffering of other people, yes. To a lot of people, that is amoral/immoral (depending on who you ask to). To some it isn't, and some people simply don't care about that. Anyway, you reeally shouldn't expect respect, compassion, understanding or anything else from other people. Specially not from everyone else in the world. You'll just get needlessly angry when you inevitably don't recieve that. Most of us value ourselves and our needs more than we do others- that much is natural. Some people just happen to value their fun over the suffering of other people. And I think that's ok too. If you enjoy this type of bad joke, It's guaranteed fun vs possible suffering to someone you don't know- the choice most people would take is obvious. It's not right, but not everyone cares about what's right or wrong- getting angry about it just makes those people have more fun. Me? Personally, I don't think it's funny. I see where both sides are coming from, and I don't think it's the type of discussion that leads anywhere. If the thread gets too heated or derailed, I will be closing it, so be sure to keep your calm, everyone.

Depends on the villain- I tend to like them over the hero, since heroes are very likely to annoy me while most villains are "meh". I enjoy the messiah-type villains the most, though card-carrying villains can be cool when they're done right.

Updated the list with FHA. There are some weird sentences that don't quite work well with the patch, but all in all, the tl is ok.

I watch the currently airing stuff weekly. I'll marathon the older ones. It's just really rare for me to burn out while watching an anime, since I'm used to marathoning VNs.

Never knew you were into VTM. I prefer Mage, but I don't like the Tremere too much. Always prefer to pick a Malkav or a Toreador when I can~

Depends on what you call boring. When taking superpowers, you don't want to pick something too strong like omnipotence- that would be a blast for some time, maybe a few years, but then things would get way too boring. Omniscience is even worse. Immortality would be an exciting one if you can stand pain, since it'd allow you to be as reckless as you possibly could imagine. Conquer the world with an army made only of yourself? No problems, you'll get there eventually. Not feeling pain would give a big plus to it, though. Time travel is also one of the most reckless ones- butterfly effect for the win. I'm the careful type, so I'd stick with the ones that'd give fun but still would be safe. Mind control was the first thing I thought of.

That Yukari power. Personally, I wouldn't want this one- the consequences of messing up can be catastrophic.

Mind Control, obviously. Maybe I'd pick being able to make any sort of illusion if I was feeling adventurous at the time. It'd be used the same way I'd use mind control, except I'd have to guess what type of illusion would lead to a specific result. I'd just mind control someone really rich and have fun without having to do anything for the rest of my life. In that sense, an unnatural charm that draws people to you and makes them try their best to please you would be fine too- if I was feeling lazy, maybe I'd pick that charm instead. Ah, having an extended lifespan would be nice too. Maybe living about 200~ years.

I do play Blazblue... Wouldn't call it a VN, but it has VN elements, that's for sure. Choices affecting the story, long story segments presented in a VN fashion (well, about as long as you'll be able to get in a fighting game). They even have an advice corner for bad endings. Type-moon anyone? It already has pro players and a bunch of tournaments, though. Don't think we can do much to boost it's popularity. But I do think it's about as close as you'll get with it.
