Eeeeh, whenever he loses into battle he dies, actually. I think he's the only character with a 100% death rate when his squad dies (justified by the fact that he fights in the front line, so escape should be nigh impossible). After that there's a bad end scene and the game ends, though. It's not a roguelike, anyway. The closest thing you'll get to a roguelike in a VN is Eien no Aselia. There's the acual perma death (with other characters in rance there's only a change, generally small), and you'll feel the permadeaths, since there aren't many characters you can use to fight at all. It has a deep story, fantasy setting, much planning, etc.

First of all, this, from Steins;Gate. The music isn't the same without Okabe's voice, but it still brings back many memories. Also, this discussion theme from danganronpa. It never fails to make me pumped. There are tons of VNs with great OSTs, so I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite.

Granted, morning star comes pretty late (that's why I said with a few variations, but once you get the effect from salamander back you can trivialize 90% of the fights you'll see anyway) and you do lose your spirits right off the bat but the fights before you get them back are pretty easy overall. And when you start getting them back, it becomes a question of which spirit to use, which also isn't very hard- You don't need much strategy for the game overall. I can't remember getting stuck at any point, at least.

Not really. Besides the final fights, there's a point in the game where you can just spam that attack skill (forgot the name), use salamander, spam the skill again and morning star if the enemy happens to be alive. This (with very few variations) literally lead me through at least 50% of the game without using any strategy at all (and without losing) in hard mode.

I thought of EA or GoB, but with which spiritual energy would you use it, exactly? I prefer Berserker's God's Hand because any human could have that. Having to drain the soul of who-knows-how-many-people to use a single attack (even though it's absolutely devastating) doesn't seem like the best option to me. If you had the mana to do it, though...

Not really, since Shiki's eyes overload really quickly (the Shiki from tsukihime, anyway). Even if you had the skill, I don't think you'd be able to beat many enemies with it, especially if they're all attacking at once. It's great for assasination, though. If we're looking for skills in the nasuverse that make you almost invincible, I'd have to go with God's Hand from Berserker. Not being harmed by anything less than a rank A noble phantasm is already enough for you to take on an army and win. There's also all the extra lives, too.

I'm going to pretend this makes sense and just say that I dislike it anyway. While cat-like things aren't as annoying as dogs, they're stll pointless- I'd rather keep the nyan out of my life.

I can't remember any character that's both a tsundere and a yandere at the same time. An obssesive person who isn't honest with their own feelings? Sheesh, that can be dangerous. Well, I hate most tsunderes with one or two exceptions. So yeah, I hate most of them, to the point where it would be hard to make a list. I disliked the yanderes from the yandere VN. That's because that VN was just a joke with the genre, really- and it wasn't particularly funny, just kinda "meh". But overall, I like them.

I'm a fan of Genji because he's awesome, but I don't really like any turtle besides him... So the answer is false, I guess. Next person wants to be as fabulous as me.

My turn off switch must not include much pain. I don't want 10000 more years if I need to boil the whole distance from the earth to the sun. I can't even imagine how long the travel would be. #totesnotworthit

I would love to be immortal if possible (actually, it would be better if I also had an ability to toggle off my life besides being an immortal, because you know... eventually the earth will end and I don't want to suffer having my blood boil in space for all eternity) but being invincible doesn't sound all that good for me. I mean, it would be awesome in the first 2 years.... Then I would proceed to get insane from not being challenged by anything, since I can do whatever I want and go away unpunished. Having god-like powers must be very lonely~
