Re:zero discussion (and some other non important Summer 2016 anime)
Kaguya replied to Nosebleed's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
Again, I don't pick up most anime, so I wouldn't know. Really the type that only watches one at a time. Still, those first 10 minutes are what really bothered me. Lightning hitting just at the right time to illuminate a psycho smile, blood splattering on a picture and crossing out the face of a character that just died... That type of thing makes for cool shots, but completely breaks any immersion I might have when I'm looking for realism, which I am, with a mafia story. Again, it could be a really good show. I didn't see anything wrong with it. It's just that I'm personally very bothered by that type of thing. Enough for me to drop it. -

I'm a lolicon, so I don't see the appeal of MILFs. Sorry. On more anime... 91 days might be really good, but I'll never know, because all the symbolism and unbeliavable coincidences of no consequence but that make for good artistic shots completely break my immersion from that show, and it pissed me off enough that I dropped it. -

Uh, JoJo is pretty cool. I like turning my brain off and seeing whatever bizarre stand they have for the next episode. The cinderella thingy was neat. Next up the antagonist will finally show up, after 20 episodes of other random things happening. It's probably my least favorite part, though Stardust Crusaders part 1 also kinda sucked. We'll see. ....I don't watch other anime, so that's all I got. Normally only pick up one show per season. -

I mean, all it really feels like you're saying with this post is that most anime are garbage and don't manage to develop their characters for shit. And I'd agree, to some extent. Re:zero doesn't have the best cast I've seen, but Subaru himself does feel very real, yes. And that's a very good thing, and it's a big part of why I watch the series. Other than him, they also developed Rem well (and I expect they'll do it even better with Emilia by the end of the story, but so far she hasn't had enough time.) Still, proper character development feels like a basic for this type of thing. I'm not about to glorify it because we have little of that in this medium. But I'll watch the series to the end, and maybe pick up the LN. So far I'm liking it, anyway. -

I mean, at least the thread title is accurate now, so yay? Subaru is pretty much just a normal character. At the start, they show him being charming. Then he is faced with problems which are beyond his powers, which forces him to mature and develops his character, after which he finds a solution to them. He goes through several mental breakdowns before he matures, but really, it's just a very normal development path. He's not even really down into the hetare protagonist type, since he does have several things going for him. If the little guy was drawn as a moe grill I'm sure a lot of the people hating him would be rooting for him instead, lol. -
Heya! I have the whole thing purchased, but only one wing of Karazhan has been released so far, so I can only give feedback on that. So far none of the Karazhan cards have made a really big splash, though in the first wing, Cloaked Huntress is presumably pretty good, and it's just going to be a while before people find a way to make it work well. Other possibly notable cards are the discard golem thingy, the 2/2 beast for druid (which you get for free,) and possibly ivory knight/arcanosmith/priest of the feast. I'm fairly sure the expansion is going to hit the meta in some way, since they always do. It's just that with about a quarter of the set released, that hasn't really happened yet. If you're talking about the boss fights, they're a blast, though the AI could be better.

You can start their steampunk series with Sekien no Inganock or you can go in a completely different direction and play Forest. Those are probably the best titles they have translated.

Pfft, hahaha. I just had the craziest Yogg game of my life, where I got to cast him 5 times. Shadowform Medivh looks pretty nice. I'm rank 6 now, huh. It's about midway through the climb, but I might go for legend this time. If I do, it'll be my second time hitting legend, and using the exact same deck. Tempo mage really is my specialty. It's also super fun, too. EDIT: Well, here I go. For glory. Again.

It was funny, but I wasn't too fond of Noire's strategy game either, yeah.

Heya! Hope you have fun around here.

A small social Commentary: Online multiplayer gaming vs solo and in-house multiplayer gaming
Kaguya commented on Clephas's blog entry in Clephas' VN home
I actually don't get it. It sounds pretty boring to me, to be honest. It's like one of those "since you're in the desert already, might as well make a cult to worship the thirstiness" type of things to me. I also don't see the appeal of spending my time to synergyse with someone I'll never talk to. -
Should I or shouldn't? ┐(´~`;)┌ [buying a figure]
Kaguya replied to Narcosis's topic in General Discussion
I don't know anything about figures. Just here to point out adding "not a clickbait" to your clickbait title doesn't help and you should try making thread titles descriptive in the future. Buy it if it makes you happy and you have the money to do it comfortably, I guess. "I'd spend it in meaningless stuff" sounds like an awful excuse and I'd rant about how you should try some good ol' self-control, but eeeeeh. -

Depends on how you handle it, I guess. I was a guild leader in some games, and it's a really neat and fun experience to see your little circle growing up, getting more people, helping newcomers and seeing you and your main guildies being able to complete endgame raids quicker and more efficiently over time. As someone who generally plays priests, it's nice to chat with someone for hours on end and when we're raiding seeing your reliable mates doing god's work in DPS, or seeing how much better the new tank can hold aggro with the new gear we had to raid for three days to get. I never really got hardcore, but those were some really fun times. Though I basically roleplay a doormat when I'm playing these types of games, since I find it's the best way to hold a group friendly and nice. It really is about the social aspects, and playing can be a blast. If you're just queuing with random people you don't know and each of you is doing your thing without contact, I can see it being pretty boring, though. -
I wasn't talking about that at all, and it was just a comment on how differently the protagonists handle themselves and why one would make for a more popular story that appeals to a larger crowd, so sure, I guess. I actually feel like neither work tries to do otaku shaming, but we've derailed this thread enough and that's a story for another day.

I have. Also checked up on the LN, though not all of it. It's a very typical "find someone who needs help," "try to help but fail," "grow as a person during failure and understand what he was doing wrong," and "with his renewed resolve and newfound answers and mental growth, face the problem and win this time!" formula. It's just that the series mechanics allows for him to fail more than usual before that happens. Oh, I'm not saying it's unoriginal or anything, by the way. They go about the formula in a relatively novel way. He's still well within the boundaries of usual protagonists and usual character growth, though.
-
They're very different types of stories, after all. The protagonist of Chaos;Head basically embraces what he is, says fuck off to everyone and goes to do his own thing for his own sake in his own pathetic way. Subaru is just a normal guy who (understandably) goes through some mental breakdown phases, lol. He's a character who goes through growth and stops being like that and that type of thing.

Majikoi is the only one of those that's really an above average work... But it can be pretty unbearable if you dislike the type of heroine that shows up in that one. I'd give a 5~6 to most of the other VNs you listed, to be honest, and I wouldn't really recommend any of them.

So, we'll be getting Blanny Nep vs Zombies this fall, it looks.

If we are to believe polls (that I see no reason to doubt,) the vast majority of the world is religious. Then again, it's been a while I last checked. Can't have changed that much, though.

Welcome! Always glad to see new faces around. You ever need anything, feel free to throw me a PM. Oh, and as for VN recommendations, you could check out my "50 translated VNs you should read before you die" list. It's pretty popular (though it's a bit dated now,) and you should find some interesting stuff there.

Agnostic atheist, though by now, I really couldn't care about religion either way. I'll probably convert in my death's bed, if I get the opportunity to. Not that it'd help in anything, though.
